One man is assisting police in their investigations following the attack on three Australian nationals last week in Roseau.

The men were in Dominica for the just concluded Test between the West Indies and Australia at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Assistant Superintendent Claude Weekes said in a live interview on state-owned radio DBS Radio that there are others involved and the police will find them.

He said also that no formal charge or charges have been made against the man in custody.

Weekes described the incident and “unfortunate” and “really should not have happened.”

He said police are continuing to investigate the matter.

The attacks on the visitors have been condemned by Tourism Minister, Robert Tonge, and the Dominica Hotel Tourism Association (DHTA).

I’m a Dominican living in Australia and I am ashamed that’s what my country has succumb to. Things are so bad the ignorance of some are leading to senseless attacks on visitors?

The fact that he is helping the police in the investigation he must be a suspect. I hope he is one of them who will be arrested and charged.

Is Weekes really saying these things or is it the interpretation of the media? There is no excuse for these things happening other than a society out of control.

The entire society is not out of control. What would make you think of something like that? You should be the pessimist. If you think the society is out of control, then you are one of them who are out of control.
A few thugs decided to steal from the Australians. They may have targeted them.
