Police say they are continuing investigations into a cutlass attack outside the State Prison in Stockfarm which has left one man in critical condition at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
According to police reports, Stephen Alfred, was brutally attacked about 100 yards outside the prison moments after his release on August 15th.
Alfred, from Tete Morne Grand Bay, was attacked by two masked men.
He sustained serious injuries to his arms, elbow, and face.
Investigations are continuing while Alfred who had to undergo serious surgery, is a patient at the hospital.

Persons keep saying that somebody leaked out information about when he was going to be released. Was this a secret?His own family could have mentioned it. This was a planned attack, and it could be done any where in his village, and who knows, maybe then they would find his lifeless body. Anyhow some people really don’t have a heart.

sometime ago i saw the same type project at secret beach, box colvert and material is dumped to the road level..
i cannot imagine how could our government pay these people 980 thousand and 1.4 million respectively. where are the engineers, that is one of the most blatant inflation of monies for small projects like that.

There is a high probability that someone leaked the information that this person was about to be released. What ever this guy did or was involved with, Someone wanted him dead. Dominica as the rest of the world suffers from a malady that affects human kind. That malady is called sin. It has corrupted every person on the planet. until one come to the place where he or she realizes his or her deficiency, such brutal things will continue to happen. You would realise that his own family could have known the date of his release and mentioned it to others? Its never been a secret when someone is being released. Because no one until now would ever have expected someone being released from prison to be attacked in this way. So dont go blaming the prison officers. The attackers could have been persons who serve as prisoners with him and perhaps had some serious misunderstanding with him while in prison.
Don’t just blame the prison officers because there is no doubt that the information could have been leaked from a prisoners mouth as well, it’s not like the prisoners themselves don’t know when they are going to be released, they know. It’s not difficult for this information to leave the state prison from a prisoner’s mouth. Is not saints that is at the state prison. NOT SAYING THAT A PRISON OFFICER COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT.

Investigator, first things first. the attackers got info from someone at the prison, most preferable one of the officers. trace phone, calls etc. even if a man go up to prison for a month, how the people out there no exactly when he coming out? put nothing past we human
People are crooks! It does not have to be inside job. It could have well been other prisoners letting outside people know he is being released. It could have been someone he told on the outside and the info was passed on. Besides everything is routine, they may release all prisoners at the same time and if the people who did it have been jail or know people who have then they just planned their business. Everything doesn’t always have to be corrupt.
the prisoner himself must have told someone when he is going to be released ,maybe a visitor or inmates that was in his cells.Inmates do socialize with others.they all speak of their crime they did.but at least they should have not chop him up so .they need to be punished harshly.to sad man

First of all, those who are released from prison should be driven down the hill or to town. They should not be released and allowed to walk on this lonely road of Stock Farm.
When I resided in D/ca I recall a lady who worked at Stock Farm was murdered on that road after she left the premises from work. Someone who knew her and had a beef against her murdered her.
Consider this for a moment. Those perpetrators knew that he was being released. Did he inform them about it? Or who did? I can understand that his family would be informed. However, no unauthorized person should have been informed of his release; not when he would be leaving the prison. They would obviously know of it later but would not have been near the prison.
He was imprisoned. Is this not enough punishment for him? Why would they want to kill him and for what?
There are some evil people roaming D/ca. I hope these get caught soon.
Depending on the reason why he was imprisoned, he may need police protection from now on. I hope he recovers from his injuries.
