Man denied bail for molesting teen daughter

courtA Special Constable of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is now on remand at the Stock Farm Prison after bail was denied for a charge of incest.

Since last week the police were searching for the man who allegedly sexually molested his 13-year-old daughter.

He was finally caught and he appeared before a Roseau Magistrate today where the charge was read out to him.

He is represented in the matter by a prominent local attorney.

In another matter, Solomon Laurent of Petite Savanne remains on $7,000  bail after he pleaded not guilty to stealing a car battery valued at $800.

The battery was the property of Cecil Registe.

The matter is set for trial on September 19, 2013.

So why is it that this case has already been to court, while and the other case regarding the fella from Soufriere who working in the “electrical place” and the 11/ 12 year old victim has been postpone like seven times already and cannot reach trial as yet?
Is it because he has family in working in the justice system or other position that his family hold.

Let’s not condem the man before the truth is known…However a child would not make up such a serious story…there is always some truth behind every story – let’s wait for the trust…We must not also forget a convicted Paedophile who was tried and convicted for child sexual offences in the UK, done is time in prison, and deported back to Dominica – will be left to pick from where he has left off – As far as i am aware, he is in the Roseau area – the man is a dangerous beast…he has been convicted placed on the Child sex offenders Register in the UK for life and deported home…the community should not welcome him…he needs to be watched too…Very say stories…

Our young people need to be educated about Sexual abuse, in appropriate touching, and what constitutes to grooming, which leads to sex abuse…

It is surprising and shocking that a man of his caliber, being a special constable in the Police Force would do such a thing to his daughter, defame his character and jeopardize his position for life to the point of imprisonment. If this is true, weakness of spirit caused this.
I hope for his sake this story is untrue. Therefore, let us withhold our judgment until the case is called and both testimonies are heard. There are always two sides to a story. For the time being, even though he is arrested and incarcerated in prison, let us give him the benefit of the doubt. It is no easy time for him. Let us do what Our Lord Jesus Christ would do, look with pity and compassion on him.

The crime that the man is accused of commiting is particularly sickening. But let us not forget that, at this time, it is only an allegation and the accused is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Our local history is full of incidents where persons have been wrongly accused of disturbing crimes. My peeps, be calm, be patient, and be open minded. The truth will be revealed in due time.

Dominicans you all are very emotional and are very hasty to spew hatred when commenting on these reports. As sad as this may sound, it might be best to wait for evidence before you guys hang or castrate the man. He may or may not be innocent. Just recently a young lady from the south accused a young man of molesting her and the family beat him up, but doctors concluded that the young lady was not molested at all. Please wait, and do not allow your emotions to cloud your judgment.

    Be blessed my people.

As much as I hate molesters, I am waiting for the verdict on this one. Too many people in the know saying is a frame up and lately its a technique used by wayward children to blackmail parents who try to contain them. When they do these things they make it hard for the real victims. If he did it hang him high but let me wait still.

While incest, rape, and the like are horrendous crimes we must not condemn the man as if he was convicted with overwhelming evidence.

The man is only charged and everybody already crying for his head.

The allegations could have been made up like a case I saw on another island where this man was charged with having sex with an underage girl, everybody cried him down. During the trial it was revealed the kids lied because her revengeful mother caused her in order to ruin the man’s life.

The mother ended up in jail.

So let’s wait for the conviction and then I will say castrate him because such crimes sicken me.

I support you a 100% THE SAME happened to me my x wife wanted some help in 2008 so she said I was sexually abusing she and my 5 year old daughter but my daughter said THIS NEVER HAPPENED
the guy is innocent until proven guilty before a court of law

    • Justice and Truth
      March 8, 2013

It is news. For one in his position it is obviously shocking. If he was not guilty why was he in hiding that he had to be sought and caught? Is he married to the mother of the teenager? Was he living with the daughter? Was he alone with her at the time of the crime?
If it is true that he committed such a crime, we could visualize a few reasons why he did it. We will hear more and hopefully the truth.

      March 8, 2013

Dorival,.. I feel very sorry for the young lady, my sympathies are with the victim. However, I totally agree with you. Innocent until proven guilty…unless there’s a preponderance of evidence brought forward, and we haven’t seen any yet.

I know this has happened here in St. Thomas, clear case of railroading, the mother apologized and procecutor admitted he had no case but said ‘my hands are tied by a technicality of the law’ and the guy (Big)is still in prison. It can happen!

What if some sick woman out there has put up his child to accuse him a “malPapi” that was molested by her father, and cannot live witha consceince just what if the truth will reveal itself soon . to the daughter be sure you are telling the truth.

    • (.) (.)
      March 7, 2013

Something similar to that happened in the U.S. some years ago in which a young woman (she was about 12 then) who accused her father of molesting her. She is now saying that it never happened and that her mother put her up to it.

If the father molested his daughter, let him be dealt accordingly but if he did not and the daughter is making up stories or someone had her do it out of spite, they should be punished.

    • Justice and Truth

I love my homeland, but molestation of young girls is just too common. I am in tears for this child. Her innocence has been stolen and destroy by the person who was meant to be protecting her from perverts. A man who should have instilled moral values and decipline to his daughter. I am shattered.

I would amputate his arms from the shoulders, his legs from his hips and amputate what he has used to sexually molest his daughter. he won’t have legs and arm to touch any child again. Shame on this special constable .

The Dominica police force must put more stringent system in place for recruitment to the police force.

How long has this man been molesting his daughter?

      POSITIVELY DOMINICAN!

Where in the story did you read that the guy did it? Since when is “allegedly” the same as proven? Why do you people do this as if they can’t read or understand? Sometimes I wonder if people know that the same alleged could go for them as well and they would not like others taking it for the truth. We need to stop using such emotions before we have the facts, too often we have so much to say only to find out was nothing so.
