Man killed in San Sauveur

Eddie Lewis being led from court in 2010 for the alleged murder of Errol Eustace

A man was stabbed and killed in San Sauver on Friday afternoon.

Reports reaching DNO indicate that the man is Eddie Lewis.

According to the information, Lewis was stabbed in the lower abdomen during a confrontation with a man from Good Hope.

Lewis was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner at the Castle Bruce Health Center.

The police say a man has been arrested and is assisting in the investigation. The identity of the man was not revealed.

Lewis was among one of four men who had been granted bail for the 2010 alleged murder of Errol Eustace.

Lambert Williams, I do not know you and I am certain you do not know me. I will not make you wise in this respect.
I have never heard of you or your name. Be careful when you respond to the comments and accuse people of who they are and assuming that you know them and that they are the ones you are referring to. It is ignorance and wickedness to do so.
I am informing you that I am not the person who you are referring to and are totally wrong. I view your comments as a grave mistake and insult, responding to my comments and also stating I am a liar. Be respectful.
I know many names of villages, the prominent ones but there are some which are small ones that I never heard of and read the names of a few of them on DNO. I was not telling a lie. I know what I stated and that’s the truth. Learn humor and learn to smile/laugh.

    Thought:

I shall pass through this world but once. If therefore, there be any good thing I can do (say), or any kindness I can show to any fellow-creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

This pertains to each and every one of us with no exception.
The above thought originated from a holy Catholic, since departed and is reaping the eternal benefit of his godly works in Heaven as some others. It is better to do good than bad; far better.

I always ask myself, why is it that people use this forum to open their mouth, and put their foot in it? when something happens, and you don’t have a clue what happened, why do you even bother to comment? My boy, my cuz Black, may your soul rest in peace. If I am able to make it down to say goodye in person, I will. Ray, my heart goes out to you, I can’t believe you did this to another human being. I am still in shock after seeing the picture. I have have know both of you from the time you all were kids. I have a boy, my window is full of glass, so I shall not throw any stones, but I shall pray for the both of you. Now the same people who are on Black’s back, I want you all to think back ,and remenber, how many of your nieces errol raped while you all stood bye in the name of ‘being afraid” and did nothing. how many of your sisters did he have sex with while making children with your sister, and raping his step daughter… Look into the face of your son and his behaviour, tell him the truth about who his real father is. and you all know that black hit him in the leg, but never took part in anything else. heyyy! I am not saying that he should not be punished…. but the real criminals in all this drama are my cousins…. the women he fathered the nieces, fathered theit own children raped them, their mother and everything/everyone insite and said nothing…. you are so worste than Black… for your info black started drinking from guilt after that happened. he was the most talented young man in our village.. gone too soon… cry not for him but for your sins… wicked family of mine… I know the truth and so do you all. I write this with Love for you all ,and anger at you action.

Dominican men stop the senseless killing, easy on the sewo, drugs ect, and learn how to walk away from confrontations. You will be no less of a man by doing so. Think about your children, who will you be leaving then for when you are no longer or end up in stockfarm? your family need you, your society need you, already you are out-numbered by women. stop the violence, one love

I a saddened by this story and i think that in order to stab someone you have to use your hands to hold the weapon. According to the many villagers who were on the scene the accused has yet to use his hand to stab the guy. apparently the guy who got killed held the other one in his neck from behind and it so happened he had a small cutlass in his back pocket because they were going to cut up their catch for the day by the bay. the guy who got killed when he leaned on the other guy the cutlass went through his abdomen. Now that is not stabbing and i hope that the truth is told in tis case because too many times we are too quick to judge before knowing the real story. i feel sorry for the deceased but he should not have held the guy in his neck even after he was told to behave. Maybe if he had listened and had seen the cutlas in the guys back pocket he would be alive today. Please people know the facts before you just say things on DNO.

This cathes my attention when Dominicans say there is no jobs in DA.we all know where there’s no jobs there will be more crime but keep in mind this is of our own doing because there have been several companies and developers who have been to Dominica begging to do business here that would create jobs but we turn them down saying we do not want DA to be like NewYork we want DA to be a nature Island and that’s all good, so where are jobs going to come from, well primarily from farming but who’s going to farm when we will get our hands dirty and brake our nails.Being Nature Island is great and thats fine but there has to be a balance. Sometimes one has to cut a finger to save a hand therefore we should have sufficient development to maintain the population, crime committed in DA reflex on every one in DA I could only say my love goes out to the family.

    • September 30, 2012

If companies and developers are going to Dominica begging to do business that would create jobs and are turn down because we do not want DA to be like New York, well F.Y.I. Dominica, in a way, is exactly like New York with crime. Although I don’t believe crime is a result of unemployment, I do agree that if the people were otherwise engaged they would be less time to be idle. We do have to pray that this cycle stops, and soon.

      • September 30, 2012

Instead of talking all this nonsense,we should pray for ourselves and the families of both parties. I am sure that all these people who posted those negative comments have relatives who could have been in this same predicament. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. So let us pray for one another because we know that SATAN is around. R.I P BLACK.. :.

If Black killed someone then God will punish him as well for the man who killed black, but we are not God and we dont know everything that is going on and it i a shme that we tend to judge people for things we have no idea about what happened. dominicans we should stop fighting and start uniting. Man’s inhumanity to man. Many also died in wars, First and second world wars, Vietnam, Israel, Palestine, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Africa, Ethiopia, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Middle East, Trinidad, Jamaica, central, south America – Latin America, US VI, BVI and other West Indian islands – French and English countries. In other words, Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Australia – the continents.
Many were annihilated by Hitler and other communist/dictatorship governments. Approximately 4,000 people on 9/11. Not one country is devoid of murders and other atrocities.
The atrocities committed against humanity, their very own are enough to bring down the wrath of God upon this earth.
Others commit other atrocities as enmity from the heart, hating people because of their religious beliefs and practices, for what they have acquired and as always, the list goes on.
God does not appreciate complainers for He gave us the means of recourse to Him, faith, hope and trust, worship and prayer. My advice to you is to worship and fervently pray for your country, nationals and the world in general. Pray especially the Our Father that, “…May Thy Kingdom come. May Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…” This will please God most rather than lamenting.
It is said that “God governs the world but prayer governs God.” It is enough to move his hand to action, in his own good time; not ours.

It seems that we human being has become so immuned to the violent on this earth, that when it occurs is not so much of a shock to us. It’s like some of us is just waiting for the moment.
Some may glorify it others may use it as way to bring them closer to their God.
Two wrongs can can never make a right. The gentleman the victim killed to my understanding was a menace to society. who knows probaly, he thought he was being a good citizen by taking the so called trouble maker’s life. if that is the case, he should let the law deals with it. On the other hand, the law seems to be very lenient to the criminals. The law has to take some of the blame for this on going unlawful activties that the law breakers are put the law abiding citizen through.

dominica need to be a little more like the other countries.when murderers are set free and something bad happen to them the familly of the so called murderers should be able to sue the country for having the person out .cause if the law had keep that person inside he or she would be safe.see here they sue because the child was molested in the train ,saying that bloomberg should have protection in the trains .or they sue because some drunk driver do something bad, saying that the government should do something to prevent drunk drivers from getting behind the wheels .just imagine in 2010 we had a few really big snow storms and people sue .some say they call 911 and the ambulance couldnt make it or they get stuck on the train.one lady sue because her dad pssed away about 4 the afternoon and the hease couldnt pick up the body not before 6pm the next day .hehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.judgement soon come here in this place .i just hope me and my family get outa here on time

The evil that men do follow them. At the same time we must not rejoice at the death/murder of another or the misfortune of others. We do not know what is awaiting us sometime and somewhere down the road be it that of our very own family. Never wish anyone ill. Whatever we wish for others fall on us two-fold. I have never had the opportunity of visiting San Sauveur but I am familiar with the name. For family reasons, San Sauveur will always hold a special place in my heart. I also know a few family members who reside in San Sauveur. Some have migrated to other countries.
Since I reside overseas, I said the next time I visit Dominica I would like to visit all those places in DA I have not yet seen, also thanks to DNO, as I read all those names of villages in DA, some of them, I never heard of. I do know about the main villages.
If he is truly your biological brother, please accept my sympathy to you and your family.
No matter what, he is a family member and was loved. He, too, loved you and others. Surely, in his life he must have done something good or a few things.
Some people forget that everyone has two sides including themselves, the good and the bad whether they are religious or not.
God is forgiving based under the circumstances. He weighs the good with the bad. If the good outweigh the bad, the soul will be saved.
This is where Purgatory comes in which God created that souls He has forgiven will make restitution.
Do not despair. God is the judge. We leave everything up to Him. May his soul rest in peace.
Know that God is always present with mourners, consoling them. He knows the hurt and the pain of losing a loved one, no matter what circumstances they passed on.
God’s blessing and peace be to you and your family.

There are always two sides to a story and sometimes three sides. The problem with some people is they have not learned how to get along with others, to speak to them amicably – respectfully, to advise them and then to leave them alone while still maintaining the peace with them. They do not utilize diplomacy. It could be difficult but most importantly, to pray for them that God may convert their heart. Quarreling and constantly getting angry with them will not help. This is what is wrong with most people why they do not get along with others. They also need to learn psychology. This takes common sense and in-depth thinking always with the help of God.

Amnesty International, WHO, United Nations, Human Rights, Planned Parenthood and their likes, I also say to Hell with them. They are all godless people and too interfering. They have made a mess of the world. Note that the world is no better with them.
Let the government of the land rule their people and institute their laws.
There is one thing I do not condone is ill-treating people.
Our Christian teachings are sufficient according to Holy Scriptures and the religious teaching of the Church. All we need to do is to practice what Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us. We do not need outside and godless interference.

The law is broken in Dominica, and people right now taking the law in their hands, sadly to say this is not the right thing to do,

This my people need to stop, let justice prevail, we do not need that Montego Bay Jamaica life style in Dominica

…And Trinidad’s lifestyle and other countries. You must know what causeed this. They must observe the Law of God and the Law of the land. If people sway far from God, not giving Him due worship, praying for themselves and for others, such may occur.
You probably know the saying, “Satan finds some mischief for idle hands to do.” People must keep fruitfully busy that they do not get involved in trouble and such actions. They must also be careful about who they associate with.

Looking at the trend right now in DA with all the murders/crimes, I think that it it time that the law officials in Dominica reinstall HANGING in Dominica

This stabbing shooting stuff is getting out of control

Growing up it used to be fighting with your hands, biting, kicking, my grand parents told me, what they used to do is removed all the clothing and fight, what happen to that, this business of man shooting and stabbing each other need to stop, the officials need to make an example of a few of them before things get out of hand in Dominica

    • B Boy
      September 28, 2012

Hanging was commonplace during the 19th century, and all around the world, homicide rates were higher than they are now in Dominica. Where is your deterrent effect now? NO WHERE.

    • Justice and Truth
      September 29, 2012

      @ Jayson

They still have to be tried. It depends on the verdict, if they are guilty or not, if the murder was pre-meditated or not and based under the circumstances. These will be the determining factor for hanging, imprisonment or acquittal.
Some people allow their emotions, their anger to overcome them. Why kill because of an argument, a misunderstanding? Why kill at all? People must have a conscience to know that it is a human being whose life is snuffed out. How could they live with that on their conscience knowing that they murdered someone?

Too much unemployment in Dominica, it is time skerrit & dem do something to help Dominicans, every week i read dno is another sad story of promising young men killing each other, time skerrit do something. @ Moreihei

You have it all wrong. Do not blame the PM. Governments are not to be blamed for the sins and lawlessness of people. The government did not send them to murder anyone.
Blame people. They are responsible for themselves. They need to take charge of their life. They must obey the law of the land; be law-abiding citizens.
From youth, they should attend school, graduate and seek employment. If they are not able to complete school, they could learn a trade.
You should know, not everyone who is unemployed, wherever in the world they reside who commit crimes/murders.

    • p
      September 29, 2012

Stop blaming the government for everything. The man was employed at a job Skerit made possible for him. Instead he got drunk and got in that state. It’s time we stop blaming someone else Abd blame ourselves for those stupid mistakes. Today I see that all our young people take the trend of drinking as soon as they get a job. STOP it

Deportee from which country, people from these three neighbouring villages are all related, yes he might be a deportee as you said, who knows if he is related to the Eustace, I know of people from those villages with relatives in Fond St Jean, blaming all on the deportees is not right, before deportees killing, raping, stabbing, stealing all these were already existing in Dominica

No one have the right to take the law in his or her hands, too many murderers walking the streets in DA

Looking at the trend right now the deportee is a murderer and is a target, due to many of your comments, by saying what goes around comes around, this is too much and they need to take all these murders seriously in DA not only drugs

I love DNO … love, love, love. It keeps me informed and entertained (especially entertained). However, DNO, in my opinion, you should consider holding off reporting someone’s death/murder just 20 minutes after it happened to allow time for the family and loved one to be notified. I don’t know the guy from Adam but if he were my relatives, I would hate to find out that way. That, doesn’t make me love DNO any less … I’ll be there veyeaing as usual, but I wanted to give what I hope is constructive feedback.

    • Shameless
      September 28, 2012

We are on the same wave length, loving DNO to keep me informed & to provide me with lots of laughs, there’s nothing funnier than the comments section; but still DNO should use some discretion on some of the reporting they do.

        October 1, 2012

I tend to agree with you that DNO is sometimes guilty of being too explicit with certain news items. However I don’t see anything in this particular news item to create a nose bleed for anyone. In my opinion this news item is quite mild and palatable.

    • .....
      September 28, 2012

You media houses will say “the name has been withheld until the next-of-kin has been notified.”

The fact the DNO has the name, would suggest the next-of-kin has already been notified, although a family member overseas may not yet have gotten the news.

CNN and BBC must wait for the family to be notified. Now we are not referring to extended family like “third cousin once removed.”

You are right about one thing: DNO is dealing with the small minds of a small island. Had did been the big minds of the big Countries that CNN and BBC service there would be a law suit in regards to breaking the news before the next of kin was notified.
