“She have a large kind of boom boom, so I just squeezed it,” was the reason Kervin Pierre gave to the court for slapping a woman on her buttocks.
The Morne Jaune man now has six months in jail to think about his action.
Pierre appeared in court on Tuesday on a charge of assault and battery on a female, to which he pleaded guilty.
According to court reports the incident occurred on June 9, 2013 near J. Astaphan and Co. in Roseau.
It is reported that the woman was walking in the area at about 8:45 am when Pierre approached her, slapped her on her buttocks and walked away.
The woman was not pleased and she immediately lodged a report at the Roseau Police Station.
Pierre was confronted by the police near Convent Prep and arrested.
When asked for an explanation for his actions by the police he replied, “a little touch wii…that is not even rape.”
Asked to mitigate on his own behalf, since he was unrepresented, Pierre told the court that the perfume of the woman was “a distraction to him.”
He also said he only ‘squeezed’ the woman’s buttocks since it was kind of large.
Court records indicate that Pierre is a repeat offender with other offenses of this nature.
He was jailed for 6 months on the charge of assault and received no separate penalty on the charge of battery.
So this is news, get a life, Im sure there are more things to report than a smack on a bottom
this is a wicked magistrate. to send a man in stockfarm prison for 6mths is crazy and i hope this magistrate will be bothered from now on by her action. where are the therapeutic measures or counseling etc? 6mths prison is a wilful and malicious act and this magistrate will be imprisoned otherwise. i do not condone disrespectful actions but one can see that this action was personal.

Let’s hope that the judge comes down on all those who are abusing ladies and young girls. This should be encouraging to women in Dominica – this judge is serious about fighting violence and disrespect against women.
