One man is dead and another is in hospital following a violent stabbing incident in Castle Bruce on Friday night.
The dead man has been identified as 30-year-old Ray ‘Lazo’ Mingo of Dipax, Castle Bruce.
According to the police the incident occurred near the Castle Bruce Health Center between 111:00 pm and midnight during an argument which escalated into a fight between Mingo and a small group of men.
The police said the argument was over Mingo’s motor vehicle.
Mingo received stab wounds to the back, chest and the left side of this body.
The police said a man who may have been associated with the incident is a patient at the Princess Margret Hospital nursing a wound to his left leg.
Three men are assisting the police in their investigation of the matter.

I am not going to say anything terrible about Lazo but that’s not the first time he is doing such a thing, actually he has an ongoing case (I guess dimissed now.) It is sad that some people cannot discuss and argue without being disagreeable and without lifting a finger, a hand and weapon which could result in the murder of another person.
Why kill another who was your friend? Why take his life? What could cause a person to have such a heart and hatred for another that he resorts to murder?

Those who also murder will live to regret it for the rest of their lives that they have taken a life and someone whom they knew at that. They will feel guilty all their life. This guilt will also eat at them/their heart.
In a small place as Dominica and in Castle Bruce, everyone will know them as a murderer and prisoner.
People should do their utmost to preserve their good name for life. They should also stay away from problems and bad company, if they are aware of the situation.
I wonder if this sad occurrence could have been prevented.
Now the perpetrator is branded as a murderer for life. He has the blood of this man on his hand; in fact, all over him; likewise the others if they are involved or encouraged it. The blood of this man is crying to Heaven for vengeance.

We all need to remain calm before passing judgement on anybody. Lazo definitely did not deserve what happened to him and it’s sad that such a horrific crime could happen again in out community. Lazo worked hard and was a good provider to his kids and family but he was not a saint. However I want to say may his soul rest in peace and may the good Lord look over his kids and family.
There’s been a couple of horrific crimes in the area over the last year and I have always said that the ones we need to blame is the police. if the police was doing a better job such as patrolling the area, building a better rapport with the community and actively investigating crimes these kind of crimes would be minimized, but, no they sit in the station and wait for the evidence to come to them.
Instead of all of you sitting on DNO exchanging words that are not going to do anything to better the community, we all need to begin a petition and take it to the Police Commissioner requesting:
1. Better police officers
2. Police Officers that are going to serve our community and restore order
3. Police officers that we can rely on.
