The police have made another arrest in connection with the murder of 75 year old Marvlyn Robinson who was murdered on November 3, 2012.
Earlier this week they arrested and charged Clarence Lewis for that murder and he was remanded in custody.
On Thursday November 8, Lewis and Titus Williams were brought to court and jointly charged with “conspiracy to murder” Robinson between November 1-3, 2012.
Williams was denied bail and the Preliminary Investigation for the matter is set for April 9, 2013.
Robinson was killed at her home in Giraudel in the wee hours of November 3.
Police say she died from numerous stab wounds inflicted on various parts of her body.

If God sees that they are truly remorseful and they promise to live a better, holy life, of course He will forgive them. God does not dish out forgiveness at people’s will and whenever they will. Off the bat this is a very very sad story. The life of a person was taken away. There is no reason why this should happen to this lady or to anyone. Now what is also so shocking to me is that I recognized the name of the mother of one of the accusers! Someone mentioned Newty along with the name of the sister and then it came to me that I knew the accuser Titus as a baby/toddler! My goodness! What has this world come to? May the family and friends find comfort in remembering the beauty and joy that their loved one Mrs.Robinson brought them. I’m also so sorry for the pain and shame that these young men brought to their families but they have to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Are you kidding? If it is the jeweler Julien, I know him. If this occurred, he probably had no clue that the jewelry was stolen. People must be careful when they purchase jewelry from others.
In Canada, if someone brings jewelry to a pawn shop or jewelers to sell, they request identification with a picture, signature and address from the person who is selling the jewelry. If the jeweler is honest, until this is done, the person will not be able to sell it. The reason for this is in the event the person who lost the jewelry files a complaint with the police and the buyer is aware of it, the police could try to locate the seller. There is a Law for buying and selling which has to be adhered to.

It is my understanding that Ms. Robinson was sufficiently conscious to call a friend after her attackers left. One of the assailants she recognized as this is someone she had known for years and with whom she already had a pending case involving theft of jewellery from her home. My guess is that the person she recgnized was arrested first, and he named his accomplice.

Parents do struggle to raise their children, set them out on the right path, but when they become a certain age they take on their own paths, following bad companion and the like; however, there are times these children are unaware of their surroundings and fall into traps that they are unable to get out of. They do not have to surrender to peer pressure, if only they were to remember the teachings of their parents. They feel grown, they feel because of their age no one can tell them what to or what not to do, they feel free to do whatever they want. No parent raises children to become murderers, rapists, thieves or whatever some of them become. We bring children into this world but we do not determine their character. It’s a shame, of course, to see the trials and tribulations some children bring to their parents life. I do feel for both parents but not for the young men. They knew better, or they should have known better. This lady, however, did not have to die such a horrible death. May her soul rest in peace.

Everybody is talking about praying for these young men. Are you guys paying when they bring home the drug money and stolen items too? These guys had good upbringing. I also think of her family and how much they are mourning her loss. This is not easy to bear. It is not easy for them. It is not something that they will ever forget for her death was not a natural one. There is no doubt that her blood is crying to Heaven for vengeance. She has no voice now. We will be her voice and speak for her and on her behalf, loud and clear. May she rest in peace. Amen!

They brought it upon themselves. Sorry that God gave them a life and they chose to use it in such a manner. It is a waste of life. I hope other youths learn from that and that Marvlyn’s death is a lesson for them to live a law-abiding life and not follow bad company.

This news breaks my heart. Marvlyn Robinson was a spirited, vibrant lady who returned to Dominca for her retirement years. While we first came to her cottage for a place to lay our heads, we returned because we enjoyed her company.
The Breadner family in Canada will not forget Marvlyn as the positive energy she was, and one of the very reasons we came to Dominica to visit.
Dominica has lost a citizen of character and i hope Dominica will respect Marvlyn by remembering her appropriately… and part of that is to ensure that justice is properly served.
Robby my sympathy with you and all friends and family of Marvlyn. “Dominica has lost a citizen of character” because there is no room for people of character in Dominica today. Call me prejudice. All the same, I may be stating this through spiritual instinct. I have considered that when Dominica was predominantly Catholic, that there were less of those other churches which infiltrated Dominica, we had a better society. The young people attended church with their parents. All schools had prayers and religious instructions. Children were more respectable. Children were children. Frankly, I am unable to comprehend that the youths/adults have stooped so low so as to commit crimes/murders. Something is radically wrong. I do think that it is a punishment for Dominica and nationals. The less regard for God and His Commandments the greater the crimes and hardships and sorrow resulting from them. A spiritual enlightened person should know this.
Those in authority should do their utmost to get to the root of this, as to why there are so many crimes/murders among these people including illegal drugs, those with guns, masked faces and bullet-proof vests.
Do you think that Dominica and also the other small West Indian islands should be experiencing that? These give a country and nationals a bad reputation, even though the law-abiding people are not involved. We should cry for our country. Godlessness is the result of crimes/ murders. If those who commit those crimes were God-fearing and sincerely worship God they would not committing such atrocities. Satan finds some mischief for idle hands to do. I hope that the government, police authorities and others in authority could do something about this and find a solution to this dilemma Dominica is experiencing. God was there when the woman was killed, God was there when whoever did this was plotting, God was there when she was on her way to the hospital. God was there when she died. We have to guard our mouths as well. I am sure those two boys came from good families and I feel hurt for them as well. Marvlyn did not deserve to die that way as well. Having said all this, we need to guard our family that non of our children are opened to “the Enemy’s wiles and tricks” so they can be stolen, killed or destroyed as those two young boys have been destroyed. If thou shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord, thy God to observe and to do all his commandments, which I commanded thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. Verses 2 – gives all the blessings that will be poured upon those who do what is commanded in Verse 1. Later down in the same chapter the results of not doing what has to be done in Verse 1 is shown with the results being curses. So I speak to us let us do what is right in God’s sight and let us pray for the young people in our land.
