Life is comprised of happiness and problems. In other words, there is a time and place for every thing. We take them as they come. The saying, “Such is life.”
Sports and other forms of good entertainment as carnival :) always take us away from our daily concerns. Keep in mind other annual celebrations as Christmas and New Years. This is the reason why we have them and they are necessary. You know, to give us joyful moments, to cool us off and mellow us even cause us to have a change of heart and to be loving people. :) No matter what life has to go on. As human beings, we need such diversion. We could not function properly without them. God knows that too. He loves it when we come together to have some real, good, clean amicable fun and hope that it lasts. He ordains all to be. Praise be to God!

Tell that young lady to check me out at Mona Piper`s shop if is pipe she wants we are always willing and able to do that. so KJERK do not be a hater by calling the young single lady a Salop, when you know that your mother married to a police man. Shame on you, but I feel your pain, no hate intended.

Please do not make me laugh, which I am doing. I hope you find a single man/gentleman. No problem if he is a cricketer. Some of them have met some nice women and vice versa when they travelled to other islands to play cricket and got married. I have a good friend who married one and they are living happily to this day and no doubt until the end of time. You stand a chance. :)

This matter is to be taken seriously. It does not warrant ignorant, senseless and silly responses.
Taxpayers’ money was stolen including the farmers and storeowners. A security guard was shot in the leg. It is also a trauma for the employees who witnessed this vile scene coming from their own fellowman, another Dominican.
Sadly, Dominica, as beautiful a country as it is, the land of rivers and glorious sunshine, the situation is not what it was in bygone years. Some of us will ask ourselves and of others, what happened? Why are their nationals who go about as gun runners and toters holding up financial institutions and wearing such an outfit with a face mask and carrying handcuffs? Where did they get those items? I reiterate that surely they were brought to Dominica by air or sea.
It is shocking what is occurring in Dominica. I make no excuse whatsoever for criminals. It is said that criminals are worst than murderers, in that, when they come to steal and are obstructed, they will kill whoever stands in their way and many people including injuring some. In this case, the security guard was injured.
I read that someone whom I deemed to be ignorant and who do not think twice before making comments as no doubt also speaking, stated that it was planned and the security guard was only shot to divert the others, make belief that he knew nothing about it.
You could be sued for libel.
The thief shot him. Do you think that he would allow himself to be injured? Some of you are something else.
I hope that this thief who is obviously heartless is caught soon.

      @ Me

A bank robber who is wicked of heart, too lazy to work for his livelihood, who is desperate to steal all the money he can and would maim and murder to get it. He is the one who deserves to be shot.
Brand him as the Paix Bouche thief who embarrassed the good people of Paix Bouche and gave the village a bad reputation. I hope he and his accomplices if any are caught. Thieves will go to Hell for stealing.

For those who are wondering…. the guard did try to protect his institution by closing the door when he realized that the man was masked – that was when he was shot and that is through the glass door. If any goes to the building the hole where the bullet passed is right there. The security officer was then commanded to open the door which he did, then handcuffed while the mask man did his business. The sad thing was that the people around who heard the gunshot and realized what was happening were so shocked that they were not even able to call for help.
We are a peaceful community. we have our issues but that kind of drama is not part of it. We are a hard working set of people and that’s why at that time only a few persons were around. Everybody else at work. Hope and pray that it stays so.

Criminals are desperate people who possess no love, compassion and mercy and show no mercy as Satan. They are not aware how much they are influenced by his wicked schemes. They will do anything, whatever it takes to fulfill their wicked plans. For now, it will appear that they got away but God knows who they are and has taken note and count of their actions. This is one person, Our Supreme God they will never get away from and his justice.

    July 5, 2011

Lord have mercy. Strange but true. The presence of the security officer was supposed to deter thieves; however the Credit Union in Paix – Bouche has been around for the past 16 yrs without an officer – no problem. They sent an officer bout 3 months ago – and bam! big action!. I think the people of Paix – Bouche would be much more comfortable without the/a security officer and that kind of drama.

  27. Truth,Justice,Peace

I meant to state, Security Guard. The Security Guard should always be on the alert. How could this man handcuff him and so quickly? I supposed that he produced a gun and then handcuffed him, too quickly for the security guard to swiftly react.
Where did this man get an army and cargo pants and a green long sleeves shirt in addition to a gun.
I do think that the government should do its best to seize all guns which are specifically not used for hunting. I have previously enquired how did those guns get into Dominica? Surely they were transported from another country via air or sea.
It is expected that the Police will conduct an investigation into this matter and the perpetrator will be eventually caught. Dominicans should be alert and help Law Enforcement and their country. If anyone knows this person, they should immediately report him to the Police. It is always wise to keep silent when you are suspicious of such a character. The best approach is to pretend you know nothing and saw nothing. Do not hinder the investigation and do not obstruct justice. Allow the Police do their work. In so doing you are aiding them, your country and nationals including yourself, for peace and safety.

  I often wonder what type of people would be sarcastic in such a manner on a Website which they do not own. You lack consideration.
Have you heard the following? “Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can do me no harm.” You will do well to allow others to comment as you are allowed to comment. Do not be rude and sarcastic. It depicts one who is not a loving and caring person.
If God is with me who can be against me? Every good and perfect gift and statement comes from above the Father of Lights, our Heavenly Father.
Negative words and sarcasm come from Satan who infiltrates the hearts of such people as yours and indwells in them who make such comments.
You would do well to learn love, discipline and respect and accord this to others. You are sadly lacking class and dignity even in your writing. You have projected who and what you are to all the readers. You lack love for your fellow Dominicans wherever they may reside. You are contributing to evil and evil works.
Change your mannerisms then there will eventually be a change in Dominica for overall happiness, peace, harmony and security.
Learn what God wants and expects of you as well.

If you pray to God with a humble and contrite heart, he may be caught. Never give up hope and do not be negative.
This also pertains to Anonymous who says one thing and then another and who does not have a mind/heart of his/her own.
Some of you are sadly lacking in love, faith, hope and trust in God. God protects.

      @ “Truth:”

Your beliefs are so flawed it affects your reasoning. This is the problem with faulty beliefs.

      • Truth,Justice,Peace
        July 6, 2011

        @ Muslim:

Prove it. If you possessed any basic common sense you would not make such a statement. Everyone sees things differently. We all possess different minds. Be respectful of the views of others an do not disrespect them and state that their comments are flawed as if you are perfect and that your statement is not flawed. Yours is flawed. You have a limited mind which cannot think beyond.
DNO has its policy which corresponds to the following that I read on a Website:
“…welcomes a lively and courteous discussion as long as ‘you follow the rules of conduct’ set forth in our terms of service.”
I suggest that you pay attention to the above paragraph when you are replying to a comment and practice it. Your comment directed towards me is out-of-place. For one, you do not know me and I hope you never will and that I never know you. You are a disagreeable person.
Some of you Dominicans have no respect for others and their views. Your views will obviously not, in most cases represent mine and my views will obviously not represent yours. When are you going to learn courtesy – good manners and to provide your opinion courteously and respectfully? Grow up! Be matured! You are projecting who and what you are and what comes out of your mouth as imbedded in your heart. Is it any wonder that many people cannot get along? It is people like you who make life difficult for others and create lack of peace.
Learn to provide your comments courteously and refrain from insulting others.
Do you think you are more intelligent than I am? I am certain by no means. You are not even able to comment respectfully. Just who you think you are anyway? I reiterate, learn to comment respectfully. Watch your language.
DNO should make note of this.

My god it was so humiliating to see the security gurd where he was befor the police arive on the scene (We have no police station in paix bouche and we always thought that we dont have need gfor 1) and trust me know and seeing that guy. I know if he his life was not at risk that rubber would be dead. You could feel it in his voice. Back to the point One thing is for certain the Credit Union building which has been there for the past 1-15 years never had a security guide until it became Part of the NCCU say appox. 3mths and today the village experience such a trumatic situation. Not only they teller but villagers as well. We must try hard pple to refain from talking especially if we have no idea. politically u no where PB stands.and we dont and cant accept that

Whether soon or not he stands a good chance of being caught. The motorcyle should be seized and whatever money is in his possession. His home should be searched for the rest of the money. His relatives and friends should be questioned and investigated in the event that some of them are harboring the rest of the money.

You could not get away with such a statement in a progressive country and posting it on a Website. You must be careful what you state otherwise you will get into trouble; your comments will incriminate you. Freedom of speech can only go so far.

Even if the economy was booming, there are some that will always take the easy way out. Sad but true.

The money will not last for ever, then what.

Stop blaming government and start looking at ourselves.

To the security guard, I wish you a speedy recovery. To the bank clerk(s), I hope this unfortunate incident does not leave you traumatised.

You mean to tell me in this day and age with all those high qualify people that in that work place not one of them – be it on d board of directors , d management dem , or d IT man or woman doh never read about CCTV and how up to now it not part of all u borgit ehh?

At least there ought to be cameras at the front of d building and at the back and at the sides of the building to serve as first line of defense or deterrent.

More than that these CCTV cameras should have been connected to all u big office wherever that be.

I hope all u learn all u lesson and start put cameras in discrete places where people would never think is a camera that there

Dominicans just to dam laid back and reactionary instead of being proactive.

Hope Board have a risk committee to look at premises as well and doh forget to question d security man as well even doh he say he get hurt in foot; and foot doh break ???

There is no respect for authority let alone an unarmed security guard. Times have evolved and the powers that be need to train, then permit the able- bodied guards to carry pistols. As well as the police!

With the increasing rate at which DEPORTEES are being repatriated, crimes are going to get more brazen and violent.

The economy is rough yes i agree but it is rough everywhere and that gives no one the right to take what doesn’t belong to them. People are desperate yes but they need to think before they act because in many instances innocent people are getting hurt or killed and the individual themselves are just ruin their lives.

Dominica has become a lawless state. That is what the problem is. Government officials corrupt, stealing left right and center, the police department is filthy , the legal system is a joke – why should wed expect restraint and control from people with criminal instincts.
Some people may not like my take on this issue however I wont appologize for being real.

    • a mind of my own
      July 5, 2011

You said you agree people are desperate but then you are asking them to think before they act. Desperate people do not think it is of no use asking them to think. What needs to be done is to create an environment where not so many people become desperate. But then again the way things are going on in this country it looks like we are manufacturing desperate people. So what do you expect!!!

Do u listen to the news and are u au courant with the world affairs? If you did, you would not make such statements about redundancies etc as lots of business are closing down world wide and persons are loosing their jobs . I can name a few so it is not Dominica alone that got people loosing jobs and on the contrary, we are so blessed that we do not recognise the blessings. Alas it is not so bad in Dominica.

Let us count our blessings and be careful what you say with your tongue. Persons like yourself should learn to give thanks and praise to our Father for the many resources we have etc.

What do you know about economy? Have you heard about Greece? and all the other news item. then read read and then comment after.

So many things we have to be thankful for.

Come on people is like all you like to steal like that? Just go to Papa Skerrit!!

Did you read what you wrote? Have you been given a cheque of any amount by the Honourable PM? It is high time that respect be given and the mouth speak not evil but peace and love. Hatred spews from all those comments made by some persons. Saying what they want without even any proof. Come on high time to stop all these things and to speak on the issue at hand. May God Bless Dominica and its people!
