Police appeal for assistance in human remains discovery

police investigationThe police are appealing for assistance from the public following the discovery of human remains in the vicinity of the Layou River.

According to Police PRO Acting Inspector, Pellam Jno Baptiste on the 26th of November, 2016 the police discovered human skeletal remains in a shallow grave in the vicinity of the Layou River.

He said a number of clothing items were also discovered.

“The remains and clothing items were secured for investigations,” Jno Baptiste stated.

A coroner’s inquest will be convened.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information which can assist the police in the investigations can contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at telephone numbers 266-5164, 266-5165 and 266-5119 or Crime Stoppers Dominica at telephone number 1-800-8477.

    you have clothing items where are they? Are we suppose to go police station to see them?

    Contact the family of the guy from High Street who worked at Dowasco he went missing around Layou /St Joseph area. So officers don’t you all have a list of missing person so when something like that happens you all can call the family members to help identify the body to help solve the crime?.

    did they ever find the man who went missing around the titiwi festival time? i remember reading a story on DNO about this person who came from antrim area and went to titiwi festival who then left to visit somebody is st joseph and they had gone missing. you know we ALWAYS get these stories but NEVER get any updates so i’m just asking.

    stupes.. give it one more week.. cold case…show the clothing and tell us if is male or female.. average age,, something..compare it to your missing persons report and then take it from there.. how the public will help you again with no information
