Onlookers at the scene where the body was found

The police have begun investigating a suspected homicide after the body of a man was found in La Plaine on Thursday.

The dead man has been identified as 59-year-old Nicholls Zephyr of the community.

“The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is seeking the assistance of the general public in the investigations of a suspected unlawful homicide,” he said. “It is alleged that about 8:00 am on Thursday, February 9 2017, the lifeless body of an adult male was discovered in the vicinity of an area known as bout sab in La Plaine.”

He said the body was positively identified by family members.

Zephyr was officially pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

A coroner’s inquest will be convened as investigations continue, Jno Baptiste stated.

Anyone with information which can assist the police should call the Criminal Investigation Department at 266-5164, 266-5165 and 266-5119 or Crime Stoppers Dominica at 1-800-8477.

its very clear that people making comments here do not care of the persons death. they are obsessed with politics even when campaign and election season is long over!
They think the government is their version of a soap opera and somehow not real. How on earth is this man’s death somehow making a sane person use the word government or politics in their comments?! you have issues!!

LOOK IT LOOK IT! A man lose life and watch the sympathy. Give the police two month and all will be revealed. Why did they try to distract the police by keeping a march? Why the Looting and then the death. There are 5000 people in Dominica who cannot obtain a passport because they were never registered at birth so there are no record of them being born or drop. What do you intend to do with these people. So you see Sir the march was about something else. Look it look it.The march is connected to the death. Do you still think the police are not competent. Watch and pray

It it critical that we give the police, any information that may lead to the apprehension of these perpetrators. No information is insignificant, whether it’s a vehicle that you may have seen in the late hours of the night, give them that information. The mere fact the criminals choose to dump the body in an isolated area, is an indication that they are familiar with the landmark of the village. Let’s start with LaPlaine first and then expand our search.

Police, you can investigate this suspected homicide by first speaking to the deceased man’s family and friends. They will be able to inform you about him, what he did prior to his death/murder(?), whom he associated with and spoke to that day/evening and his whereabouts prior to his death.
He must have supported a political Party. You should look into this.
Your investigation should commence with the above. I expect you will be doing just that.
You have been conducting many investigations which are incomplete. Some incidents/ accidents and murders have gone unsolved.
God knows about these and who committed them. Those who escape from the Arms of the Dominican Law, they did not escape the eyes of God and will not escape His fair justice and recompense. They have convicted, judged and condemned themselves.
It is better to do good than evil. Far better.

Oh please! Why not stick to the issue?. When last you prayed for D/ca and nationals, including yourself? If you did, you would not waste time commenting on this which has no bearing on this article. All you are capable of is criticizing. What good does it do? Dominican nationals have not been affected. The man is far from D/ca and people as you who sound as a broken record, continue to mention his name. It is an ill-wind that blows nobody any good. Get on with your life. Place your mind on what presently concerns Dominica and try to assist your country.
Dominica would be a happier, peaceful and safer place if more of you genuinely prayed with a loving heart and help your fellow people instead of constantly depending on the government and expecting the government to cater to you. This type of attitude is what which produces dissatisfaction that you are responsible for and not the government.

My name is king Ahab because there are lots of similarities between myself Ahab. For example, God stated that King Ahab did more evil in his eyes than any other king before him 1King 16:30. yet he was more attractive to many of God’s prophets than any other godly king. Sounds familiar?

I am happy the police going to investigate this”suspected unlawful homicide”, though I and many Dominicans have absolutely no confidence in them. But since they are in the mood to investigate crime and are seeking assistance from the public, here are some alleged crimes I would like them to investigate:
    1. A ‘former’Dominican Diplomat with a DA passport by the name of Alireza Monsared who is arrested in Iran. Find out what he did, who helped him, who are his friend here, who has his car, and if anyonein Dominica is co-conspirator
    2. Oil Taker “swift”with Dominica flag that was arrested for carrying illegal fuel according to https://www.fleetmon.com/vessels/swift_9129213_60403/. It also 18…

It shows that God sees much more than man sees. God reads hearts. He knows what is embedded in them, good and evil; some, more evil than good. These do not go unnoticed by God. Make no mistake, God will punish all evil doing.
You are no different. Do not place yourself on a pedestal and think you do no harm. You are also harmful to your country. Again, repeating over and over again what which has no bearing on this article. It makes you appear to be ignorant and uneducated and whatever evil permeates the heart and lodge in it.
If you and others, cannot let go of repetitiveness about that man, you have a severe problem. You eat, drink, sleep, wake and walk on the same thing. How boring. Do you not have something else and better to state which will enlighten and elevate the mind?

      that is a senseless comment.
Dominican Citizens who migrate to America or other countries that commit crimes… is the American government responsible for their crimes and should the American government step down because a Dominican born person with American citizenship cited a crime?!!
Why oh why are Dominicans so f’in stupid /why?!
when a member of the congregation sin… is it the pastor fault he welcome them to the church?
should the church members ask the pastor explain why he welcome the person to the church?

I don’t believe The local police is in any way shape or form to investigate any crime in Dominica, at this time because starting with their head to his deputy, down to the least, all of them are put in place NOT TO serve the people of Dominica and preserve the rule of law, but rather, to SERVE Skerrit and to cover up his evils and that of the DLP. As aresult, no one trusts them in any investigation as their moto seem to be to punish the good and protect the evil.

Here they are seeking assistance of the general public in the investigations of a suspected unlawful homicide, but when we assist them with other unlawful crimes that are allegedly committed they try to arrest us. A Dominican by the name of Alirza Monfared is now under arrest in Iran for very serious crimes. Did the police investigate it especially when it is a fact that he was in Dominica months before the arrest, was seen with government ministers and his car is still by a Diplomat. We NEED HELP from the FBI immediately
