Police investigating stabbing, fire incident

Police are investigating two separate stabbing incidents that occurred on November 4.

Police Public Relations Officer Sergeant Kenth Mathew reported that 22-year-old Jermelle Laudat of Stock Farm was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital in a critical condition on November 4 at around 10:15 pm.

“He was allegedly stabbed in the lower abdomen as he danced around others in Roseau,” he said.

In related news, Sergeant Mathew is also reporting that Kervin Abraham, a 34-year-old man of lower Kingshill, was admitted to the PMH at 11 pm on that same evening after being involved in a fight during which he was injured in his face.

Meantime police are investigating a fire at the home of McPherson Attidore of Stock Farm.

“He reported to the police that he secured his home at about 6 pm on November 4, 2011 and went to town. On his return at about midnight he met his house and all that was in it completely burnt down,” he said.

the local police are just happy in womanising
and drinking, and if they were keeping their eyes open and was proud of this beautiful island, there would be less crime, when the police are sent to a village ,they think think its an eternal holiday,Dominica can only improve with good policing.

That’s what i am asking myself from the police. A question that will never go away, and has to be brought to closure sometime in the future, so that the guilty individuals or individual will pay.

I mean we can talk about all kind of violence, punishment, banning of sewo and all that you know. But it still come back to us individuals, our conscience and the kind of person we want to be.

The place have a little blocko for people to enjoy and free up themselves, what on GOD’s green earth would inspire you to bring a blade in the crowd and stab somebody? Whoever you are, you are a COWARD, nothing else.

Ten or fifteen years from now, when you look back at your life, is that what you want to see as your great accomplishment? That you stab somebody in a crowd and almost take their life? Can you give back life? Does that make you feel like a big man or a bad man? Will that earn you respect, more girls, or an income? Man whoever you are, there is a GOD and HE sees you man…that is all I will say to you.

Life is fragile and we have to try to take care of it you know because it is amazing how the cycle goes around. Years ago in a very independent blocko, this guy’s father was stabbed by an individual in the crowd the same way. His father died some time later from an un-relating accident. He grew up never really knowing his father and today the same thing that happen to the father come and happen to the son.

We can talk about all kinds of problems in society that make the yutes and them act so violent, but it is up to each and every individual to have a conscience and ask themselves ‘am I part of the solution or am I part of the problem?’
