A law enforcement official here is recommending that stakeholders manage anti-social behaviours to lessen the impact of crime.
“There will be anti-social behaviour but we must manage it, and if we can manage it well we definitely can minimize the impact of criminality and anti-social behaviour, and if we do that as well, its going to be a catalyst for local and foreign investments,” said Public Relations Officer of Police, Inspector Claude Weekes, on a radio programme of the Dominica Police Force Friday night.
Police have lately been talking about their moves to curtail crime in the country, and Weekes said police officials must be commended for their efforts to date. He pointed to reports of a carnival free of major incidents this year.
“When we do bad give us the flak and we’ll take it, go back to the drawing board, and ensure that we can sustain a good relationship with the public; but I think each police officer must be commended for their sterling efforts in exercising their function or mandate to ensuring the safety and security of the country,” Weekes noted.
