Charles Francois, who just last month begged a magistrate for jail time, is in trouble with the law again and has gotten what he wished for.
Francois, from Giraudel, was hauled before a Roseau court on a charge of theft.
Court documents show that he went to the home of an elderly couple in Wall House and stole beers, a bath towel and a few boxer shorts.
He expressed remorse at his actions saying that the elderly couple was good to him from childhood days.
“You should have a conscience, turn a new leaf and chapter in your life, you need to take stock and turn things around, you are wasting your life away,” magistrate Candia Carette George told him.
He was sentenced to six months jail for the crime.
Last month during a court appearance on another matter Francois begged for jail time saying that he had “beef” with people “out there” and he would be killed if he was not sent to jail.
At that time he was facing charges of burglary of the homes of attorney Wayne Norde and Peter Lavinier.
Charles stole beers because he was thirsty, a bath towel and a few boxer shorts because he needed to take a bath and put on some clean boxers. The man seeks hygiene, a beer to relax him while in the bath, and of course he is care free. lol

he is not a sick man. he is lazy, and wicked. God forbid if the elderly had chop his hand it would be another song singing. this men know what they are doing and who they are attacking, they know. Father be with us all and watch over our children and our citizen over this culprits. It is really painful when this things happen, and others want to make excuse for this people, especially some lawyers, that there had a had child life? it really pains.
Just look at his face, he needs a damn beating… He has a brother that’s a police officer why can’t he shake some sense into him. Stealing is this man’s sickness it’s part of him and I would hate to see the day it stops would be the day he gets killed for taking from the wrong people.
I think he might of gotten a sound beating thats why he want to go jail….but who tell him he might get more up there?????

It appears that he cannot help himself. Stealing from people who are nice to you and the elderly at that? He has a grave problem. He is fortunate he got only six months and after stealing all those items from the lawyer and the other person and selling them.
After he serves six months and he is released what is next? He will be back on the streets to continue his trade of stealing.
If he continues in that manner and is not able to steal, consider what he might do, kill. I would not trust that man.
The government will have to decide what to do with him. He needs counseling and rehabilitation.
Why can’t he volunteer to serve, clean, wash in the hospital or prison. He will get free food but is cotributing to some kind of community service. I don’t think he needs to be in a mental institution, but needs to be in a supervised environment if he cannot be in the general public.
If I was the government, I would no let him free without someone or the community keeping an eye on him. The mare fact that he said he has a beef with some people, u don’t know what he can do when he feels society is out to get him. So he might strike first, knowing that he has nothing to live for and loose.

They should wait untill January 31 to let him start his sentence. Or sentence him to lashes everyday untill his six months up.
Especially Mr doing that man. What the .. Just eating all my money up there in Stocky and even happier than I am. They should give them some real punishment up there. Make them cry, and see if they will beg to go back
Possie, I agree with you. Some people just can’t function in society due to some physiological or psychological problem/problems. Someone said that “your environment shapes you.” We don’t know what this man’s childhood was like and what he has gone through in life. Instead of putting him in prison, there should be some form of therapy for him or rather rehabilitation. We ought not to treat our sick people like they are nothing but rather be sympathetic toward them. He is a human being and should be treated as one regardless of the decisions that he has made in life. Every one deserves a second or even a their chance in life. I thought that we were more of a caring people. Maybe we are more caring towards the strangers that come to our shores that we know nothing of.
Thank God after asking to be jailed,he was given a chance.{ I have no problem with that! But he could have hurt the elderly couple or even kill them, then we would be reading a different head line. We desperately need homes for those who need assistance and the necessary treatment else we are just waiting for the bomb to drop. Remember, a stitch in times saves lives.

and thats exactly why he have beff with people .they should hold him ,give him a whooping so he will spend a few days in the hospital .then the hospital should discharge him on the 24th of december so he neither get to spend christmas in jail or at the hospital . so instead of eating pork or beef at tax payers expense,he will eat balaww if he lucky enough to get some.i vex

No mista sick, it is time dat the authorities seek psychiatric and psychological evaluations for some of our citizens… maybe is not jail they need go, they might have other conditions that we are not familiar with
