(DNO) – The identity of skeletal remains which were discovered in the heights of Elsmhall may be revealed soon.

Deputy Police Chief Cyril Carette told a press at the Police Headquarters in Roseau this morning that samples of the remains will be sent to the Mona Forensic Lab in Mona, Jamaica to be analyzed in order to obtain an identification shortly.

In March, police were led to these skeletal remains in the said location and have been “vigourously” carrying out investigations into the matter. It was reported previously that one man was assisting police but no one has been charged in connection to the matter.

Carette stated: “On the question of the skeletal remains found in the heights of Riviere Claire, we are vigorously pursuing the identity of the person and shortly we are going to be getting the samples to send to the Mona Forensic Lab at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica where they will do the identification for us. So that should happen shortly.”

“We are receiving technical support from the region… it’s going to span from Dominica, Barbados, Jamaica and the US Embassy is still seeking support for us as well because we need other assistance that we do not have in the Caribbean as well,” Carette said.

The Barbados Nation Newspaper had reported that police suspected the bones were that of 23-year-old Corey Poleon, of St Lucy, Barbados. According to the paper’s report, Poleon went missing from the country since last year.

According to the newspaper, Poleon is believed to have been the victim of a gruesome killing by a Dominican involved in a satanic ritual.
