St. Lucian charged for murder of Dominican

A 25-year-old man has been charged in St. Lucia for the murder of 29-year-old, Corniel John Bastien a.k.a “DA” originally of Dominica but residing in that island.

Dwight Elibox a.k.a “Coolie” of Mayfield of Castries, has been charged for the crime according to local newspapers there.

The newspapers reported that the incident occurred about 12:30 am on Saturday August 13, 2011 at Fond Assau where the deceased was reportedly having a drink at a bar with Elibox.

Reports indicate that they left the bar and proceeded to an area within close proximity of a nearby house where an altercation occurred, which resulted in the stabbing of Bastien.

He was taken by ambulance to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A postmortem was thereafter performed and the result indicated that he died from hemorrhagic shock, secondary to multiple stab wounds.

Elibox appeared in court where he was remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility until September 22, 2011 when he is expected to make a second appearance in court.

    @ truth and justice..

please go over this comment, your own words….what does this say about you?…again the kettle should seize from calling the kettle black……the attached emotions are kind of childish as well…

Birds with fine FEATHERS does not make fine BIRDS…STOP SERVING THE GOD OF IGNORANCE..

Sensible, intelligent, loving, kind and godly people know that this Website is for amicable dialogue between those who provide their comments on it. It is not and should not be used to attack people, state incorrect things about them and derogatory words and for no reason.
For one, you do not know the person or anything about the person who made the comment. Based on their comments, if you possess basic common sense, you should have a fair knowledge of who they are and their intelligence. You act like the pot calling the kettle black. This is just what you people have depicted.
If you are going to make a comment, make a godly one. Always be kind and in your words. You are showing yourselves to be, what and who you are – not nice people.
You are the stupid ones. You give me a bad taste about you.  Do you have any intelligence to comprehend the difference in commenting intelligently and not?
What is so wrong about what I have written to deserve your foolish statements?  You are sick people – sick of heart and mind.
My writing is in praise of Dominica and its fruit, namely, the Pear – Avocado. Did I criticize it? You are really foolish people to make such comments.  You lack basic common sense, knowledge and intelligence.
You should be reprimanded by all sensible people when you write such garbage and attacking others on this Website and for no reason, just because they provide their sensible and loving comments.
It appears to me that you possess the ungodly spirit of Satan himself for all unloving, unkind words generate straight from the jaws of Satan and the jaws of Hell.
Be careful! By your words which are imbedded in your heart and soul, you do not end up in his eternal cauldron of everlasting fire. You cannot enter Heaven with this attitude.
Your minds are warped and by no means are godly ones.
It is so sad that you people do not have the sense to appreciate the good things which people state. You cannot be a genuine loving and practicing Christian.
Are you not aware that every thought which crosses your mind, every word that you state to anyone and on this Website, for and against (pro and con) that God takes note of them? This will be your judgment and as you age to eternity.
Our Lord has stated, “By your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned.”
Do you want to live a happy and peaceful life? Then be kind also in your words.
Do you want to be a saint? A godly person, long departed stated: “Be kind! Be Kind! And you will be a saint.”
Do not attack people and do not be critical of those who comment respectfully on this Website. They have a right just as much as you to comment. They are not seeking your approval or your critic. You lack godly appreciation and are out-of-place and tune.
Pray to God for His blessing, graces and virtues to practice same to everyone be it on this Website as you expect of others.

Peace perfect peace! There are many people who lack peace in their heart and therefore they are not able to generate it to others. It is people like you who cause me to write so much and to explain matters to you, to do good and to be kind to others. Anyway, it is a gift from God which I am grateful for.
Your comment is out-of-place in this article and has no place in this article. You did not get my comment from this article. Why did you bring it into this article? DNO should not have allowed it in this article because I did not state this “on this article”; it does not belong in this article.
I know why I wrote it but not in this article. I further reiterate and emphasize that it is not pertaining to this article and has absolutely nothing to do with this article. You do spoil matters and the article.
STICK TO THE ISSUE AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE!
This is the problem with some of you, always swaying away from the topic of the article.
This Website is not to be utilized for competition but for amicable dialogue between Dominicans of all. Some people as you fail in this respect. You do need to be reminded to be loving and kind and to people whom you do not know. Your reputation is showing even from what you write.
I owe you no explanation. God knows that the world in general, no exception Dominica is in dire need of some loving people. Note what some of them as you write. Where do you rank?
You do not possess the same mentality as I and vice versa. I did not read all your comments. It is my prerogative to read them or not. I have no reason to read them and I am not interested in reading them. I know where you are coming from. Pertaining to your comments you do not deserve a response.
There are two forces in the world. The good and the bad/evil. In this era, it appears that the dominant one for now is evil. Evil pertaining to what others state and do. The evil forces will make others speak and write evil and blind them to the good in the world and the good that others are doing and have stated. That is the work of the evil one.
I have previously stated, allow people their right to comment as they see the situation and pertaining to what they read and the adverse attitude of some people; you rank among them.
Utilize your basic common sense. If you had any you would comprehend and appreciate what I stated and would not question or dispute it. You are not an intelligent person.  You are in no position to give advice. I have stated what I have stated. I speak and write the truth and nothing less than the truth. I also do not water-down the truth, telling it like it is. It is not part of my nature. If you do not see it that way and do not appreciate it. TOO BAD FOR YOU! THE TRUTH ALWAYS OFFENDS!
Do something good for Dominica and its residents and you will be a happy and peaceful person. Then your eyes and mind will be opened to comprehend what others state and see the good that they are at least trying to do.
Learn from others, wise words of advice. You, too, your heart and mind need to be transformed.
I will not stand by and see injustice done as well as spoken. It is my duty to speak up. If you knew what is contained in Holy Scriptures you would comprehend. St. Paul said: “Admonish one another.” This means those who are not kind people. They want to go to Heaven as they claim to love God and they do not act accordingly; note their statements as yours. I cannot turn a blind eye or a deaf ear. If I do God will hold me accountable for ignoring what I should, at least, try to rectify.
My aim in life is to always do good and to offer good advice that others might learn from. This has been my parental nurturing and the schools I attended especially in Dominica. They have taught me well and have been an asset to me – not a liability. Thank God! I am happy to pass this on.
Holy Scripture: “Strive for peace among people for without that holiness no one sees the Lord.” Be kind to your fellow people and those who comment on this Website.
As a holy person stated, “If you like the good that you see in others (what they do), you make it your own.”
You do not deserve any further response.

No matter how he died, he is a son, a brother and friend. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
My heartfelt to his family who are mourning his loss.
I hope that God had mercy on his soul.
We do not know the situation of what transpired to cause his murder and should not comment any further. The murderer may not speak the truth and as the saying goes, dead man tell no tales.
All I can further state is that people must be careful about the people whom they associate with and the company they keep.
I do hope the truth will come out for his family will obviously want to know the truth of what really caused his death.
    Take heart family!

It is time to bring back hanging. It is just out of control in the islands. Too much bad American Television has corrupted the minds of the young folks at home. Our Ministers are doing nothing about it. Our culture has become decadent. There is no Government Censor in the islands to view programmes from the USA before they are aired. What has become of our TV network CBC in Barbados? No caribbean programmes anymore?

Do you possess any basic common sense? It appears that sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t.
What have you been hearing and reading? The entire world and of law-abiding people knows that TV has been a great influence on adults and also children; likewise the Internet, many times for evil than not. As an adult you should surely should know this.

      @ DE CARIBBEAN CHANGE

I am always amazed that when people make sensible comments that they receive many thumbs down. Those who do do not appreciate what is stated.
From the side of the world where I reside in, prior to television and 24-7 broadcasting, there were fewer murders.
In previous years I have stated that television has been one of the primary causes of increased crimes. Note the programs and movies which are broadcasted. They have shown criminals how to break and enter a home, steal and murder and other immoralities. I do not view those types of movies and others which are violent.
Now-a-days the majority of programs and movies are “viewer discretion advised” and even comedies as well.
Adults who are responsible for writing, directing and broadcasting those types of programs and movies are to be blamed. They have caused this and much hardship on us in the entire world. They have made the world a worst place to live in.
Those who are idle and who possess the spirit of Satan will obviously be tempted to do evil.
I always revert to God. They will, one day, pay for this. Those who have predeceased us have already paid for it, by contaminating the hearts and minds of people. They are the ones who encouraged them. Hell may be their lot.
Yes! Our governments have not been instrumental in doing something about it. They allow more and more immoral programs which do no good to the minds of the public.
Many of us are saying, “There is nothing – good – on TV.” No more good and educating movies and programs, morally and spiritually.” Is this not sad and for a society which wants what is good and who want to live in peace and safety? They have surely made a mess of things. In the end they, too, will pay for their actions.
God is watching and taking note. In time they will receive their fair and just recompense as they deserve.
