Well check out the link below. Dominica is not exempt from anything, since cable/satellite tv and video games are what the youths are addicted to.

Sad to see what is happening to our youth. And their ages keep getting smaller!!
Our young men need good role models in their communities and in their life toinfluence their thoughts and actions in a positive manner ,starting with fathers.

Secondly..Where is the church when you need them in all this calamity?? Im sure if tommy Lee performed here they would be quick to come out and you would hear tjem saying its because of tommy lee and all that ishhh.. in not a tommy Lee fan but im just saying. #whereisthechurch #whereareourleader

Let’s stay positive and be strong and dont be ridiculous about these stupid comments. First ports mouth plays a major role in the economy of Dominica. Second we all want to go to the us, and there’s a lot worst scenario than that. Unless we the ppl start putting things n structure in place so that we could better ourselves and young ones, we might just have to stay commenting on dno

This is sad. Another person was murdered, this time by a teenager. It was not with a gun.
If the teenager is still in school he should have been at home sleeping. Why did he stab the man? The law will handle him. I hope while in prison he will give his actions a good thought and make up his mind to change. May he be rehabilitated.
May God be with the family of the deceased and console them. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace.

The ignorance I read in some comments, smh. First of all the crime didn’t just occur in Portsmouth but in Dominica so this whole which town has more or less crime comparison is stupid. Secondly no political party or minister can stop crime entirely or even create them, each individual is reponsible for his or her actions and how they decide to live their life. The Prime Minister or the opposition cannot send anyone to hell or heaven so each should watch themselves. And lastly somebody son got murdered and another mother ‘s son is a murderer both dominicans. Instead of making absurd statements, when you hear news like that, best you go pray for your family cause it could have been yours. RIP Cloudy.

This is one of the best comment , if not the best , because everyone must take responsibility for his or her actions , and such events like these happen everywhere . A sober and concerned person , would be thinking of solutions, solutions, during these troublesome times and avoid any animosity , give no place to target each other and to build more tension upon that which is already there . It’s a sad situation here

Where de church? How come they don’t get involved? Tommy Lee was pounded like a ripe breadfruit in a mortar and pestle, he did not do any harm to you all. You f00ls (the clergy) don’t have any common sense, Morales or care for the nation. Where it matters most, you all turn your backs and refuse to address the real situation. Something is seriously WRONG with Dominica. This is a nation with many lost souls and all you guys talk about is Jesus and God, how is that helping the madness, is it getting better or worse? Make your own assessment.

i ALSO DIRECTED SOME OF THEM TO DIFFERENT JOB SITES ,WHICH I KNOW THEY HAVE TRIED ,BUT NOT SUCCEDEED
there is a problem in our land ,
too many young men on the street cannot find jobs ,

Some of them, when they find work ,they do work with a willing heart ,
    Also m
To those who thinks the mother is responsible ,

Then ,,Where is it? for sure ,i see poverty,

We need to stop looking for excuses and persons to be blamed. Some if not all of those young men just have the mindset that violence is the answer to every situation. Opportunities are provided for them but they choose to follow other path. if they wanted a good life, they would have stayed in school and learn.

Instead of saying this hurtful things about Sarah. Why not put her into the Lord arms . Ask him to take away her pain too. She is also a victim as well as Clody Family. What her son did is wrong but who are you to judge him, who are you to say what punishment he needs. As people of Portsmouth for once in all you life stop belittling people and pray for them. Every parent show their love differently. yes she had difficult time raising her son. But she tried. She Tried and she tried . We must learn to pray for each other and try to help each other. My sympathies goes out to the family of Clody also to his young son but still remember Sarah and her family are victims of this situation too. I pray for both families that god see them through this difficult situation. I pray that he comfort and show them that he is there, that they should call on him. He will hear you all pray .

    Sarah hold strong.

Some juveniles are faced with mental learning disorders where they are just incapable of learning. Might I submit that everyone was not born to be a doctor, lawyer or accountant and the list continues. In addition they might have been born into a less fortunate family, where parents even tend to get stress and place little to no focus on children. Now there is no one to steer them on the right path, then they are left to resort to the things that seems to be the quick way out of struggles which is DRUGS which inturn leads to the uncountable crimes, murders etc. Lets have a closer look at the picture please don’t look at it from one aspect.

But look at the ages of the men involved nou? You mean a 27 year old murdered by a 17 year old? Papa met oh! Two very young men with a future ahead. In another country the 17 year old would be in bed sleeping so he could go to high school or college next day and the 27 year old would be sleeping so he could prepare for work next day. But here both lives are all but gone! What a shame! I know these type of things happen all over in the world but I am also old enough to know that this downward trend only began to happen here 10 years ago, and seems to be getting worse every month. While I will not blame anyone for this trend we have been witnessing, I bet you that if they were positives in terms of development , someone would be taking the credit. So take credit for the good but blame something else for the bad. This is Dominica today

I believe that HANGING MURDERERS should be brought back. To many murders happening now with no real consequences behind it. Killing now has become like a game where people are slaughtered like animals and they walk the streets like innocents. HANG THEM I SAY. HANG THEM!!!

  41. June 2, 2014

When something happen in Portsmouth every body has something negative to say about Portsmouth. It is not the Parl Rep or the Prime MInister that send them to kill and commit crime. What is the reason that a seventeen year old doing on the street at that time of the night and even to have a knife or any kind of weapon on him. Walking with a weapon is an intention to commit a crime. Why would one leave their house with a knife, a gun or a cutlass or what ever kind of weapon and to get in a confrontation and to kill someone.
Before we blog thiink of what we are writing before we cast blame. Unemployment is not justification for murder or committing a criime. And to those who are sayinmg that Portsmouth is the capital crime city in Dominica go and clean your backyard first. Examine yourself. The town of Portsmouth is not to be blame for those who want to commit or bend on committing crimes. Ian nor Skerritt did not say to the guy go and kill that person. Everyone is accountable for their actions. Stop putting politics into everything that is happening in Dominica.

Portsmouth has turned into a red light district. What is going on is Portsmouth, is it unemployment, lack of developent? I want to know. You all are threatening the existence of Ross, continue on that path and you all shall see. Every time is something in Portsmouth

      June 2, 2014

This has nothing to do with unemployment!!! some people violence just in their blood and nobody can change that, when someone has a certain habit it is only up to them to change it we cannot do nothing about that

      June 2, 2014

to much of the money being spent is focused on places like roseau when the areas that do have the capability to bring the country more is being left to fight a battle on its own.

      June 2, 2014

Skerrit say ‘no law no constitution can prevent him…” so the young people know that so they are following their leader. There is no law, no constitution in this country, so people are doing what they want. Their leader and government and supporters are doing what they want and there is no law to bring justice for the evil and corruption they are doing. People are lawless because they know they will soon be out on the streets again to do whatever they want to do.

What happen to the days when two “cool pweh” would pass and then two minutes later everybody back as friends. One can’t go out anymore without having to look over their shoulders. When will the justice system start giving stiffer penalties to criminals. RIP young man whoever you are and to the family be strong.

You are right Ian, Portsmouth appears to be the place where all the action is. Birds of a feather flock together and devil competing with satan. Is the Possie clique that wants to control Dominica now? Evil will beget evil. May God help us.
