Peterson Charles of Tarish Pit has been remanded into custody after being charged with attempted murder for allegedly cutting Thomas Paul of that community in the head with a cutlass.
The incident occurred over the weekend, allegedly over 50 cents from gambling.
Paul, otherwise known as “Leprechaun”, was hospitalized in serious condition following the chopping.
Reports are that he was slashed with his own cutlass.

All you are making too many excuses. Dominica is hard, thats all I keep hearing. Things are hard all over. A lot of the young people are too damn lazy and want the fast bucks. PLEASE—some of you…this is someone’s life. He was a son, a father, a brother…my big brother. Too bad Dominica doesn’t have the death penalty, cause this Peterson guy doesn’t deserve to be in jail. He needs to be hung or be given an injection or something. Give me a break, Dominica is too small for this. My brother was a good person. 50 cents was not the reason for the attempted murder it was only an excuse. The guy that cut the other guy with the cutlass should get at least 10 yrs in jail and pay fines during that period. But the laws were passed were made not protect the people only facilitate the system.

I simply wish, we as a country/society could wake up and realize that all of our youths are at risk of this violence and aggression.
What we can do as parents, is to start taking back control of our children from the streets.

Thomas Paul is a friend of mine. This entire situation is a sad one. But we cannot turn back the hands of time. Only learn a bit for tomorrow.
