US Supreme Court judge robbed in Nevis

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed by an intruder armed with a machete while he was vacationing on Nevis, court officials said Monday.

Although the incident occurred last week Thursday the matter surfaced in the public domain only yesterday.

According to CNN Breyer, his wife and two other guests were in the justice’s vacation home at the time, but officials said no one was hurt in the incident.

Nevisian court spokeswoman  Kathy Arberg said the male assailant took $1,000 in cash and fled the scene.

The robbery was reported to local authorities shortly after it happened last Thursday night, and local media said no arrests had been made as of Monday, according to CNN.

The US Marshals Service, which provides security for traveling US Supreme Court justices, and the FBI are assisting local law enforcement in investigating the matter.

The USA Supreme Court Justice is more vulnerable to crime in the USA than anywhere in the the Eastern Caribbean. Where was his security detail.

Here’s a better idea: American’s Constitution places Supreme Court members on the same level (or above) that of a sitting US President. It must be assumed that Nevis has allowed the criminal attack on the Constitution of the United States when they permit a machete weilding attack on an SCJ with no repocussions for the attacker. Accordingly, a few air strikes, some drone attacks and a visit from Seal Team Six seem like a most appropriate and measured response.
This is not some mere citizen of the US. Punishment needs to be a counterstroke representing the crime. In the alternative, and at least, an embargo similar to the Cuban, and no trade or travel on the island until the preps are captured, and executed. You wanna f with us? This is how we f with you.

Tourist should not walk arohnd with money….they will alwats be targeted…then again these small businesses in the island do not accept debit or credit cards…..most of the larger businesses do NT accept these cards either….sorry man…there are some people who just want to live a life of crime …while there are others who got into this lifestyle necause of bad circumtances in their life….I know it still boils down to a choice..but life circumstances have given some more chices than others

Ignorance is truly bliss. SO sure that the robber had no idea who he was attacking. He just saw a little feeble old man he could take advantage of. My oh my!!! So, so sad.

I trust that there will be some quick resolve to this matter, as the Caribbean can’t afford another Natalie fiasco.
