Alyssa Letang has earned the title of Miss Convent Prep, outperforming six other competitors in the pageant held on Thursday on the school’s ground.
Letang grabbed awards for the following: Best talent, Best Speech, Best Costume, Best in Costume and Best in Party Dress.
She is expected to represent her school in the National Princess Show next year.
1st runner up position went to Sophia Christian who also captured the award for Miss Photogenic, 2nd runner up went to Kimberly Lawrence who received an award for best party dress, and 3rd runner up went to Najah Coipel.
Megan Francis got the award for Miss Congeniality.
In her assessment of the show, Amanda Dejean, one of the organizers, said it was a huge success based on reports received.
“Overall from the reports that we have been receiving it seems that the show was a huge success and from our stand point the girls performed at a very high standard,” she remarked.
The seven competed in introductory dance, speech, talent, creative wear and party dress segments.
The show is held every two years.
I haven’t been to the show…..but its very sad to read the comments. It is just a simple show. Why be so negative. I know sometimes things are not judge correctly but they are children. They can read and when they see those comments…. things like that will break them down. Please people…..watch what all u say. Congrats to the winner and all the girls who participated.

Wow! I went to the show to support the school and the young ladies. The show was at a very high standard. The young ladies performed well. But Ms. Letang really performed exceptional. Hats off to her! She deserved all that she has got!

Congratulations Alyssa. This pageant was of a very high standard. Miss Letang really really deserved her crown. I was very impressed with her performance. This child is just exceptional. Job well done to her team. Might I also point out that the show itself was very well judged. The judges did a fantastic job. I however though would have placed the Christian child third and the Lawrence child first runner up but these two were really close unlike the winner who was way ahead. Congratulations again
I don’t think the judges did such a great job. She did a good job and won, her team spared no expense, but the other girls parents also spent money and could be given some solace. She did not have to get all of the awards she did as she already won.
Best talent could have been given to the child with the big bottom on bwa bwa, that was very well executed and the costume was historical and well done.
The coipel child also could have gotten best dress and best speech. There was no way the coipel child was as far back as they put her. She was behind Alyssa in my opinion.
The judges broke down the children last time they had the show and also this time. They have to spread the sashes around in order to give the children and parents motivation to participate. As a mother I will not put my daugter in this set up.
Sammy did a great job and hats off to her, Alyssa won fair and sqaure but the judges should take the other contestants into consideration.
