The Community of Mero will come alive Carnival Monday and Tuesday with street parade and jump-up from jour overt on Monday with music provided by Berel sounds.
For the second year the Mero Enhancement Committee and the Cultural Committee have organized what can be said to be a spontaneous fun-filled community cultural expression. This community carnival also attracts a number of overseas residents mainly from Guadeloupe, St. Martin and St. Thomas and the neighboring communities. Tourist from the cruise ship will also be visiting and enjoying carnival as we show-case our unique culture.
The two days activity will be under the theme: “We small but we standing tall” and is aimed at bringing community people as well as other visitors together to enjoy our culture and heritage. Persons will be dressed in various costumes, tie-dye t-shirts, sensay, and some with painted faces and masks.
Miss Plus size Tamayo Joachim from Mero will be part of the parade in Mero. The MEC congratulates Tamayo on her win and wish her well during her reign.
Our sincere thanks goes to our headline sponser Kubuli, Guiyave and the Parliamentary representative Kelver Darroux for supporting our carnival which we hope will grow from strength to strength.

I hate people who use the lord to try to save their soul from pas sin, by thinking every one is like them. We are happy that you have seen the light, we will also get there so let enjoy our self. one life to live.
The population of Mero is about 10-15 people what jourvet is that.
Instead of the usual street Jump-UP, I think they should so something different. So a beach carnival. So the music systems and people can jam right at the water’s edge. Have drinks bars and food stalls available. That way, people can have a good time and some enterprising people can male some money.
As a matter of fact, they should postpone the event to the Saturday following carnival. Make it an annual event, so people know where the action is on the Saturday after carnival. There is not much happening, therefore visitors have a reason to extend their stay for a few more days, spending more money in the local economy.
Just my 3 cents.
Go, Mero!!!
