Showdown Mas Camp kicked off on Sunday at the PSU grounds on Valley Road.
Patrons were treated to a wide variety of entertaining calypsoes.

So really that is how Dominica come?We are loosing taste for anything that does not carry our colour,i guess some of you soon will not eat certain colour food or drink man.Calypso suppose to be a stress releaser,through POLITICS you guys are getting stressed out over it.

what’s wrong with some persons…u can support both camps, that is carnival….Mas Camp will be a huge success, i going to both of them….
Why can’t we just support both tents. It’s like politics in Dominica now, one or the other. That is sad.
Ah, Anonymous, the evil minds are busy at work dividing Dominica.
Ever listen to the Mas Camp leaders speak? They speak in forked tongues. One side of the tongue screams “love and unity” and in the next they are always throwing stones, always categorizing some persons as destructive, and often claiming that someone is persecuting them unjustly. So, when certain calypsonians do not get through, it is not because of a faulty performance or a weak song but because “the system pressing him” or “Skerrit boys victimize him”. These comments whip up emotions and create camps of hostile supporters who think with their emotions.
Additionally, the Mas Camp practice of bonding calypsonians who have received songs from certain Mas Camp writers is bound to create an “us versus them” climate.
Finally, even certain radio personalities help perpetuate this divisiveness. When the semi-final results are read or the monarch is declared, some radio broadcasters will claim X number came from Mas Camp and X from Stardom; “Mas Camp” has won again”; “Stardom will win the crown dis year”; etc.
SO, Anonymous, your observation is correct; there is a deliberate effort to categorize and divide and this effort has infected the society.
Ah magway sah…. so showdown come maysiay??? Disappointing same political songs…..Pat seem to have run out of ideas.

yeah i looked at the Miss bold ladies n the best picture that DNO choose to put online is the girls eating popcorn. We need to promote healthy life style. i mean they can b big but healthy. thats wat u call the full figures. But wen u r promoting a show with big girls its promoting unhealthiness. i think we need to have the biggest loser show in d/a bc to many women r slowing killing themselves with cholesterol, bad fat and having it like a bag of honor.
i mean they can b big but healthy….is that a joke…did you look at the lady in the red dress…how can you be obese and healthy…the only big people that are healthy are specialized athlete, namely wrestling, judo..etc.
These women should be placed on the top of the geothermal mountain and scream earthquake, let them run down to Roseau, lose all the weight.

Lovely Venue. I must compliment Pat and Crew for the work they have done but the Mas Camp (Mass Tent – under a big tent)is Damp. Most of the songs are boring. They lack the usual bounce and sweet melodies that their calypso possesses.
Sye a power house in the camp is definitely weak this year. His song is to slow and winding and way to long. Soul Puss is a sequel, the same song for the past four years. I guess his writer is fixated on power. Bobb has no fire, God bless him with a wonderful voice but his song is lacking. Vigilante is weaker than last year plus they lost Explosion and Black Diamond. Their only hope is King Dice. Based on the Calypsoes out this year. Mas Camp might only have one finalist other than King Dice.

I LISTENED TO THIS SHOW ON SUNDAY AND IT WAS MORE ENTERTAININF THAN STARDOM…..STARDOM SENDS ME TO SLEEP….EVEN THE BACK UP MUSIC IS OF A BETTER QUALITY THAN SWINGING STARS…THE STARS PLAYS MUSIC LIKE THEY ATE TIRED…MAYBE ITS TIME TO RETIRE STARS………..GREAT JOB MAS CAMP

Boy u sick man. Mass camp so down not even viagra can get it up. and that venue is another thing. not one good tune. They can NEVA EVA have a year like 2011 where every song was a hit. Alas so all u come.
