It appears that calypso veteran, Julien “Picky” Lockhart, has punched his way right out of the Stardom Calypso Tent following an incident between himself and stage manager Hilary “Tilly” Thomas.
It is reported that on Wednesday 5th February, 2014 Picky punched Thomas in the face after he lost a “Calypso Tug of War” face off to fellow calypsonian, Hardliner.
On Tuesday one of the tent’s organizers, Norman Letang, told DNO Picky’s conduct and behavior will not be tolerated at the Stardom Tent.
He said that a letter was served to the calypsonian’s manager on Monday night banning him from the tent for the rest of the calypso season.
The letter reads, “It is with sincere regret that the management of the tent would like to inform you that based on the negative behavior that you have displayed at the tent on the night of February 5th, 2014 by physically abusing the stage manager Mr. Hilary Thomas your services will no longer be required for the rest of 2014 season.”
It goes on to state that the management of the tent “strongly condemns” his type of behavior and “has the obligation to ensure that discipline is maintained at all times in this reputable institution.”
Picky will not be allowed to return to the tent until a thorough investigation of the incident is conducted and advice received from a disciplinary body.
When asked if any reaction was received from Picky after the letter was served, Letang stated “we are not awaiting a reaction …we simply cannot have a man coming and do that in a tent … that’s just not acceptable.”
Some people are not able to accept defeat. They are poor loosers. As the saying, we win and we lose. This is life.
If you feel dissatisfied with the outcome of the results, you can pursue just cause but never hit another to satisfy your ego of loosing.
Try to remain calm as much as possible and under any circumstance. In the end, you will win by this attitude.
He needs rehabilitation of an anger management course. People are never too young or too old to take this course if it is available.

@DNO we would like to hear picky side of the story,we would like to know what tilly told beside what he tilly said he told him,if their was an insult or some way out paro man talk,knowing tilly i would not put that pass him,he plenty compawezon,but still picky wrong for losing his cool,these man them been fighting down picky for years- his character,from chalotte ville ect we all know the rest of it,picky shoud’a beat them by winning the crown,not the force of arms,we notice tilly did not press any charges,their is more to what we know or being brought to light.

There is no excuse for hitting someone and in an atmosphere as this. If anything, he should have considered his position. It is physical abuse. One strike and he is out. This applies to anyone who dared do something as that.
someone must put pick to sit down and let him know,he need to control himself around carnival time.Every year around carnival time,picky always making himself a nuisance,harrasing people for something and won’t leave you alone if you doe give him something.Though he may have a case to protest,he doe have to act on pass gruge.I hope he will conduct himself on the simi finals.

Just today I saw Pickey in town. When asked about the incident he is still adamant, so he wants to be wrong and strong, so Stardom had done the correct thing. Teach him a lesson and also prove that you are an organization of integrity.. It is just so unfortunate though, as he has a great song that could take him to the finals. Grow up and behave please Mr Pickey.

In life things happen for a reason maybe it could have happened to any of the other singers. The rules should be for very boby not for one set.
What Picky did was wrong wrong wrong…there should be no violence in calypso and further more we dont want that kind of reaction in carnival. Picky should be banned totally..period..well done Mr Letang teach him and others a lesson

ay ay since when stardom has a disciplinary body, is picky they don’t like. even they travelled to New York they were treating picky like a dog. swinging stars and stardom go to hell. all of a sudden alu have disciplinary body, stupes !!!!!!
In a court of Law we listen to two sides of a story. We only got one side. why are we so quick to judge him without hearing his side of the story? We are talking about banning him from every tent? Really?? Verbal abuse is just as bad as physical abuse. Does anyone know what type of abuse the man got in the past but still come back to sing because of his love of calypso. Why no one listen to his recommendation of putting up pictures of calypso Kings in the Calypso house. Why was he deliberately excluded from Events in New York when he was there? He did not punch anyone then. I smell some Jealously and envy… This is a man that never hide his faults, he is a recovering drug addict and financially depressed but Picky is one of the BEST Calypsonians in Dominica. And this message is for “Young Bull” if he needs to write an apology letter, he has friends and family that can help him with it, You had to come on stage to say “IF he can write” Hater! This is what I’m talking about…

I wonder if the man was not insulted an that cause him to react in that manner which is also wrong. But I know there are some doggy dog behavior in calypso and some times people have to know what and how to speak to people,honestly I would like to hear picky side of the story we like to disrespect persons because of there past some times we have to understand a man past is a past and respect him like any other
That is not a reason to assault another human being plain and simple.
this is good. we need to understand that we must display mature reaction to situations even if we are displeased about them. i hope that he is not banned indefintely. i do believe in second chances. however if he repeats such behaviour an indefinite bann should be instated.
no other tent should take him up for the rest of the calypso season. if they do they will be saying that they agree with his unfortunate behaviour and will be sending a clear message that they have no standards that anyting goes and if someone does wrong in one camp they can just go to another and will be accepted.

welcoming him to another tent i think is not sending a clear message as a calypso patron. Let Picky compete for his semis, but not participate in any tent. Violence is not tolerated because who is to say he is not capable of doing so in another tent?
Hello, is Renegade going to be sympathetic to bad behaviour, hello if that is the case, I will not support Renegade again. We have to learn to behave ourselves. Very often we bash the young people about their behaviour and we as adults we do worse. Picky has to take his punishment and accept the situation and prepare for next year God willing. Unless we feel the effects of our bad behaviour we will not learn.
