The young children are beautiful, but the carnival princess stands out she is beautiful. Look like everyone had fun.

Wow! Lots of beautiful people man. I love the costumes, the faces and the excitement. We need to however start addressing the prevalence of obesity in the country. There needs to be a serious public awareness/education effort of the health risk and the dangers associated with obesity. We need to start educating our people about how it affects our health. re: diabetes (or sugar as we call it), hypertension or high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke etc. Our women need to start recognizing that being “thick”, “solid” or “healthy” like we use to say back in the days, is bad for our health. We also need to start encouraging our children to “move more”, childhood obesity is also prevalent. We have the resources to live a healthy lifestyle, but we have to make a conscious effort to do so. Let us go back to the natural resources, eat what you or your neighbor grow and easy up on the processed foods. Dominica and Dominicans let us make that conscious effort to become the Healthiest Island in the Caribbean. I truly hope that I did not offend anyone, by making this simple, yet obvious observation, but create some awareness to this silent killer. If I did, I apologize in advance. However, if anyone is offended by my observation, and you are needing to get healthier, I advise that you take your anger and make a commitment to make a change. If you need help, I will gladly assist.

One Love Dominicans!!!! Movement to become the Healthiest Island in the Caribbean. Together we can!!!

Thank you DNO. You made the parade look alive and vibrant. Truth is it was the worst parade in history hands down

Thank you again DNO for those beautiful pictures. Think not that when we view them those of us who are abroad are not envious and wished we would have been home for carnival and to participate in this celebration. If we do not wish to go all out, we could chip chip too with the music. Everyone loves music. Hope this is decent enough for the critics and to pacify them.
I do believe it is wonderful being home for Carnival, for WCMF and for the Independence Day celebration.
I noticed someone who went to D/ca for the carnival. When she returns and I see her I will ask if she was in a band and played mas. She probably did.
One year when I was home for carnival, she was also there. I was viewing the bands from a balcony and she coerced me to join in the band.
Well, everyone had a wonderful time and in the sunshine. No rain! This was great! No matter what God shone his bright sunshine and no doubt cloudless sky on your parade, the more to thank him for and have a holy Lent.
The Lord said, “In all things give God due thanks and praise.” This should be one of them. Catholics!!!

    Lovely costumes. Nice pics.
Just crossed my mind that I have not heard anything about the controversial calypso king, which the orgainisers said would be a yearly thing. Such orgainsers could never be taken seriousl again. Talk talk talk and no action.
China man would well stand a chance.
