Love it, Love it! Kudos to Dominica for keeping up with their culture. You are one of the few islands in the Caribbean that maintain your culture and most importantly teach the children to appreciate who they are. Congratulations!

One thing, from since I know myself the Convent Prep makes a showing at this parade, with not just students but teachers also.

Big up to the Convent Prepatory staff for showing it’s students TRUE culture, representing with complete National Dress and not just madras complimented costumes!

While we must congratulate you for these beautiful pictures depicting our national wear and the colour and vibrancy during our National day celebrations, I must draw your attention to the main photo with the young man holding the flag over his shoulder. We must remember that there are protocols to the use and misuse of our symbols of Nationhood for which the head of State the President is responsible and Education on their use is of paramount importance to our young persons. The flag should never touch the ground or dragged and in this case the young man is dragging our Nation which we should be raising up the meaning thus of his action. Further you posting this as the main photo to this story and this goes out to the outside world you were just adding insult to injury I can understand that you did not know but could you do something to remedy the situation’thank you

The flag is not touching the ground – it’s the angle of the photo. Look at it carefully.

Actually it is… look at the end of the flag. That amount of folding cannot be possible without a solid surface. Also judging by the length of the pole and it’s proportion to the length of the flag, at that person’s height and at that angle it would most definitely touch the ground. Not to mention the depth of the shadow made by the flag is clearly of an object at ground level.

get a pair of glasses or learn some perspective judgment. Pessimism has taken over so many folks that they are blinded to reality.

What is the flag missing to be dragging? There is no space between the ground and the flag.

If you use your judgement you will observe that at the height the flag is on the man”s shoulder it cannot be reaching the ground. Inorder for it to reach the ground the other half of it (from the central emblem) must be very long and that would make the flag out of proportion; so that should tell u, (in patois) dwapo la parkar drag (I cannot say drag in patois nuh). But anyway u follow? u get my point?
