DAIC president pledges support for CBI programme

DAIC president, Kenneth Green

On the night of his re-election as president of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC), Kenneth Green pledged his support for the Citizen By Investment (CBI) programme.

“The work of the CBI should not go unnoticed,” Green said.

He reminded the public that when the private sector was down after Hurricane Maria in 2018, it was the resources from the CBI programme that made it possible for public servants to get paid.

Green also revealed that the CBI programmme is nothing new to Dominica. “If you look below the surface, you will see that since 1993, every party has kept the CBI. There may have been different policies, but it was there,” he reminded

THe DAIC president acknowledged that while there should be a concern about the amount of dependence by the government coffers on the program, that is not enough reason to be completely against CBI.

Green believes that the conversation surrounding the program should be shifted.

“The debate should be about how the money is being used instead of throwing stones at the program that proves to be beneficial to our society,” Green opined.

:?: I thought the DAIC was an independent body :?: So this rogue is involved in the selling of citizenship/passports and he’s allowed to make such statements on behalf of the DAIC :?: Where’s the transparency :?: This man can’t be taken seriously as he is not credible! He knows that the one-man rogue regime has failed the economy of the island and the private sector of which he’s part of cannot survive,he then became a stooge of the one-man rogue regime buttered with cbi! For someone who reoresents the DAIC to say that cbi is the only way forward,is saying that the island is bankrupt and the one-man rogue regime is incompetent!!!

This reckless sale of our passport will be detrimental to us, and it will all be too late when we realize it, of all the other countries who has this program, Dominica has the cheapest passports of them all, how far is this passport selling will go, this government is blind, they are steering down a barrel of a shot gun and cant see it, people, hear me and hear me well, very soon, the only region a holder of a Dominican passport will be allowed to travel visa free is within caricom, these dumb @$.es who call them self government cant see that, the USA coming with so much requirements on Dominican citizens that it wouldn’t even worth it applying for a visa, and will soon be followed by other EU countries, mark those words.

I will not be a part or support DAIC, all of them are a right down shame. Kenny is just proving that besides CBI the Dominican economy is non existent. Tourism, manufacturing, industry, agriculture etc are all dead under this government. Only revenue is selling our passports, SAD!

He should declare his personal interests in the CBI Programme:
1 – This article was contributed by Kenny Green, Managing Director of Apex Capital in Dominica https://www.imidaily.com/caribbean/apexs-kenny-green-without-cip-unity-caribbean-economies-will-not-survive/
2 – “The Dominica program is a best of breed program as one of the oldest programs in the world, along with Austria and St. Kitts, at a superior price point, and with a due diligence platform which is doubly protected by Apex Capital Partners Corp. own due diligence investigation and the Citizenship by Investment Program due diligence searches.” – Kenny Green,
    Managing Director, Dominica.
Let us be open, honest and transparent and declare our personal interests when making public announcements!

The debate of how the CBI money should be used is right before our eyes. Only Lennox, the UWP and it’s supporters that can’t see because THEY are walking with their eyes close.
All THEY are interested in are LIES and PROPAGANDA.

The Dominica government has made a lot of money from the program and has failed to invest this money in meaningful and sustainable development. This money should have been spent on programs that increase earnings and bring about stability so as to allow for a reduction of dependency on the CBI and a reduction on numbers of passports sold year on year as the economy becomes less and less dependent on CBI.

The issue of the select few earning large amounts in agency fees also needs to be addressed.

These programs leave too many loopholes for corrupt practices.

Remember you told her to quit her job if she really believed in herself. Well they let her go so we didnt have a choice. That lady you hook us up with in Cayman gave us help. we are still friends to this day. Im sorry we havent gotten in touch but this must be destiny. I owe you a drink and a Arsenal shirt.

When Kenneth Green is making these statements on behalf of Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) for the CBI programme, why does he not mention or highlight the fact that he is a Managing Director of a company selling Dominican passports? Let us be honest, open and transparent and stop pretending that our personal interests is the national interest! Hypocrites! Anytime you hear someone singing praises of CBI they are benefiting personally directly, all of them singing for their money!

Kenneth; this is how CBI works in a America, you do not become a citizen overnight Okay!

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor ProgramFor those who do wish to acquire permanent resident (“Green card”) status, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is the most efficient way to acquire such status.

Since 1990 when Congress created this program, each year, the USA government allocates a substantial number of visas for individuals who wish to make a significant investment in a new commercial enterprise in the USA. Under this program, individuals, and their immediate family members, can become permanent residents of the USA within a short period of time.

The EB-5 program requires that a foreign individual invests USD$ 1 million or USD 500,000 if the investment is made in a rural area or an area with high unemployment into a new commercial enterprise and create 10 new full-time jobs.

Funds must stay invested and be at risk until permanent resident status is granted (usually about 4…

      Permit Me to continue:
Note: Funds must stay invested and be at risk until permanent resident status is granted (which usually  takes about four  (4) years.

It is imperative to note all I conveyed is a matter of public information in the United States; there is another way CBI can be obtained.

When I first came into the knowledge the required  number of  people to be  employed in the interim  is 25 people; it is only in Dominica we sell passport to people who never set their foot in the country.

Even in corrupt St. Kitts, they will sell a passport; however the buyer must go to St. Kitts and purchase Real Estate, buy land!

In Antigua; the buyer must go to Antigua, and become familiar with the island, spending no less than five (5) days on the island before money is accepted, and passport is given.

Only Roosevelt Skerrit sells passport to people who does not know the geographic location of Dominica.

The USA programme is similar to that of 88 other countries. Except that applicants receive a green card first and after 5 years they qualify for citizenship. That is for entertainers and investors . The USA also have a special programme for those who join the arm forces and want to become citizens. I was told that in the USA there are about 900 agents ( or agencies).
I cant understand why we want to demonize our own programme that provides a source of revenue. Why are we hoping for its failure.

  13. July 21, 2019

Where is the transparancy pertaining to the cbi funds…how much passport was sold? Diab ar sack..where is your economical inspiration to do better

Kenneth, I think if your kind would do some sort of research, and educate your mind on the subject of Citizenship By Investment Program, which Dominica does not have; you would not be on DNO talking hogwash embarrassing yourself and fellow Dominicans.

“The work of the CBI should not go unnoticed,” Green said.”

That in the quote is a very stupid notion, you don’t know what you are babbling about!

If you wish to know if there is a CBI in Dominica, I suggest you do some research, on the program where it first began in Ireland in 1961/62, where you will find not one passport was sold to any person who invested in Ireland and became citizens by investing in a business in that country.

In the United States, they do have a citizenship via investment program too; however, I dare you to point out any occasion when someone simply bought an American Passport and enter the U.S as a citizen.President of industry in Dominica; no Wonder!

So why paint Mr Green as a bad guy. The uwp started it and expressed a plan to extend it more than Skerrit did.
There are many posters on DNO ready to give thumbs down for whatever will help Dominicans. They are like agents for destruction .

He reminded the public that when the private sector was down after Hurricane Maria in 2018, it was the resources from the CBI programme that made it possible for public servants to get paid.

So you saying if today all passports just stop sell public servants can’t get paid cause the country has no other viable income?
    Oh ok.

    July 21, 2019

No damn person is throwing stones behind the program sir. All we are asking for is transparency. Look when we were selling bananas every damn Dominican knew how much we were getting for a pound of banana. We all knew how many tons we shipped every week and how that was benefiting the entire country. The CBI has replaced our banana industry and now Ross and everything about it is a damn secret. We don’t know how many passports sold, price and so on except for Skerrit. Unlike the banana industry all we seeing is Skerrit and a few top friends are becoming millionaires while the majority have to threaten to talk if they don’t get a COOL OUT. SO all you too damn wicked to suggest people throwing stones at the program

The government needs an international audit to be done. So much money and amounts being stated and we don’t see how and where a lot of the money is going no towards. State house in town was $22 million dollars and the bridge near Berean school (not the entire thing) cost $11 million.

I just want an audit done. The government is doing a lot of good with the money but it all needs to be accounted for.

And I believe we the people deserve to know how many passports have been sold within the last 15 years.

My brother you skerrit and the bunch have taken away people’s independence by not providing emokyment doe the people let me give you a classic example.
Consider a young man named Brandon who let say worked at Ross as a plumber. Before ross left he was all over calling government ministers and advisors thieves.now the goverment took ross away from him he is now running up and down in red like a mad man because now he needs a job to sustain his family. Sad isn’t it
