Devon Seale delivered two masterful performances to be crowned the 2016 Calypso Monarch at Sunday’s Dimanche Gras at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
The Trinidad Daily Express reports that after filling the runner-up berth last year, Seale upped the ante with “Respect God’s Voice” and “Spirit of Carnival” to beat a strong field of contenders.
domincan calypso is crap..
one million dollars??!!
Wow!!, Now THAT is some prize money there.
Don’t let that million dollars dazzle you. The majority of Trinis are spending beyond their means, that includes the government.
They are paying that money to the calypsonians, yet in the meantime Queens Park Savannah is nearly empty during the calypso finals. That is just a fools paradise.
So they say Trini singing calypso for international market. All them calypso had political twidt, hitting politicians, and calling out the ills in politics and Trini society. Dominica leaders want do crap and when they are exposed in song they want to stifle expression. Let the artform survive as it was. It’s our expression. Keep it that way.
what stupidness you writing Zulu, anybody stifle dice, aye stop making a monkey of shaka Zulu he deserve better than that,if you know his history
Sorry I did not know dice name was expression. My deepest apologies. Do you have any bananas?
