The ’87 graduating class of the Dominica Grammar School (DGS) has given two scholarships to two deserving DGS students, Kitzwanie Williams and Kerney Jackson for the full payment of their CXC fees.

The graduating class has launched a fund which will assist two deserving students every year to cover all their CXC fees.
The group earlier this week also presented a tablet to the principal of the school to be used as a fundraiser on Creole Day.
Other donations will include an item per term to be used as a fundraiser, a mural depicting their principal and uniform used during their time at the school and monthly lectures, among other things.
According to Irma Raymond Joseph of the Graduating Class of ’87 , “We have set a mark and hope that it will evoke the interest in other years to see the need to give back to their Alma Mater.”

To whom much is given, much is expected. Thanks to a great five years of giving from our Alma Mater, we are now in a position to give back. What a wonderful feeling; so glad I came down to be a part of it all.

A lot can be done by many citizens of this country if we become more sensitive to the needs of others. I am happy to be part of this gesture and will ensure that this is not a one time event but on-going. Those who felt left out be part of the future endeavours.

    THE GREATEST! THE GREATEST!
