DLP soon to announce date for annual delegates conference

Edward Registe, DLP General Secretary

The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) could soon be announcing a date for its next annual delegates conference.

According to General Secretary of the DLP, Edward Registe, it is expected that that decision will be made at the party’s National Council Meeting which is scheduled to be on Saturday 27th February, 2021.

He said the date for the Council meeting was set a recent executive meeting of the DLP, the first for 2021.

According to Registe, the national council meeting is the highest decision-making body of the DLP and its main responsibility is to summon the convening of the party’s delegate’s conference following the hosting of the national council meeting on February 27th.

“It is anticipated that the party will host its delegate’s conference just after the Lenten season at a venue and date to be decided by the national council meeting,” Registe stated.

He said this year’s delegate’s conference will chart a new course for the party and elect a new executive to run the affairs of the DLP.

What was announced as the DLP delegates conference at Londonderry on February 27th, 2019, took the form of a rally where Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, having been given the mandate by the party, to select candidates for the 2019 general elections, announced his team.

    @Gary

You never fail to amaze me with your absurdity. DNO must strive to be more than a platform. The media have too much social influence to just dispense information. There is a desperate need in Dominica for investigative journalists to look into the multiplicity of alleged corrupt practices of this morally and ethically challenged regime to determine the veracity of all the claims.

Corruption in government causes prolonged poverty, underdevelopment, high indebtedness and a great disparity in the society. This is quite conspicuous in Dominica.

Nobody in Dominica can, by honest means, become a multi-millionaire from just a civil servant salary.

Gary, the man who you idolize, who you pray to at nights before you are tucked into bed,, didn’t become the richest leader in the Caribbean with clean hands.

Irrespective of whether delegates conference is called and soon, we are not that comfortable being part of this Failed Labour government and its incompetent leadership and management of our states matters.
This failed Labour Party Government has failed us, our people with fake talk and has reduced our poor and suffering people (,,this blind Labour,,) as beggars and are concerned about how they are able to support their children and families when there are no jobs, no opportunities but loyalty to fake failed supremo and are locked into this fake begging Incompetent Labour government through the Red Clinic. There is obvious no Socioeconomic development taking place in our Dominica from this fake incompetent Questionable inmature Labour government under failed incompetent Questionable inmature Skerrit as Prime Minister.
We need to take back our government and our country. We need Development & employment. Our agricultural economy was killed and Destroyed by this fake Labour government.

If I or anyone I know was general secretary of this party I would make sure my constituency got top priority instead of Possie and Mahaut who got their roads fixed, playing field, basketball court, roads fixed and leave mine in ruins since Erica in 2015. What’s the benefit of this top level position for your constituents, only a $2 million colvert?

Well it seems like something new is happening, and is very refreshing too: The DLP is now following the UWP and not always leading. Is this a sign that Linton has brought significant pressure, and there is path to a political light at the end of the dark Labour Party established political tunnel?

Boy Linton making mista dem head spin we.

    Alas, atlas.

I’m going to draw your attention to your obvious bias, DNO, even though you have vehemently denied it.

Mr. Skerrit sneezes or DLP belches, DNO is certain to have an article on it. Many of your articles about the incumbent regime are inconsequential. Where is the balance?

I’m not advocating a 50 – 50 balance. The incumbent political party should obviously get more coverage. However, the disparity between the coverage of the two main political parties is outrageous.

You must stop making a fool of yourself and be honest. When Mr. Skerrit sneezes or DLP belches, isn’t that what feeds your appetite for being on DNO, it’s like you are waiting to hear stories coming from the Government so that you can go on and give your daily rant, it’s what you enjoy. DNO is only a platform it reports to us, Dominicans, as to what is happening in the Country if you are dissatisfied, create your own blog which you are free to do and stop being silly.

“The incumbent political party should obviously get more coverage.”

Typical dictatorial language. Remember Strindberg Henry calling to censor Q95? This posting by @Ibo France is not only not surprising but expected. This is exactly how individuals with dictatorship mentality conduct themselves.

Registe won his seat in the last general election. but he is still a stooge for the DLP. Not a Minister of any Ministry, just a Minister of State within a Ministry under the Minister.
