The strengthening of bilateral relations between China and Dominica was one of the main topics of discussion when Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with his Dominican counterpart Dr. Vince Henderson in Boao, Hainan Province.
During the meeting, Qin emphasized the close ties between the two nations, citing Dominica as China’s trusted partner and friend in the Caribbean.
He noted further that China is prepared to use the upcoming 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Dominica as an opportunity to enhance bilateral exchanges at all levels, including people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and multilateral cooperation.
He expressed China’s gratitude for Dominica’s support for the Global Development Initiative and welcomed its active participation in the Global Civilization Initiative.
Dr. Henderson, for his part, stated that Dominica adheres to the one-China principle and is eager to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as agriculture, education, medical care, and climate change, as well as deepen exchanges and cooperation between the Caribbean Community and China.

Well Vince i am not going to say that the Dominica-China friendship is bad. It was a masterful piece of chess by Chi-Chi Bang Bang, when he switched relations from Taiwan to China, but it was very badly managed. China is too powerful a nation, (economically and otherwise) to avoid relations with. But friendship does not mean that one party does what it wants. Moreover the relationship is still opaque, and does not sufficiently redound to the benefit of all Dominicans.
Only now, you realise the cooperation should extend to agriculture, medicine, etc, etc. After close to 20 years? Such a shame Vince! Was it that you all were too busy feathering your nests????
