Dominica will be featured tonight on HGTV at 11:30 our time. HGTV can be found on channel 49 on Marpin TV.
“HGTV’s House Hunters International follows homeowners around the world as they search for the perfect home — both inside and out — at a price they can afford.”
With millions of viewers worldwide, the episode tonight will certainly result in good exposure for Dominica, according to the company’s website,
Below is a description of tonight’s episode as published on House Hunters International website:
Since Sonia could remember, Ron, her husband of 15 years, pinned for his childhood days on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Engulfed in her career, Sonia paid Ron’s suggestion about island living little attention until she developed a passion for health and wellbeing. Ron’s constant reminder of a healthier, simpler life eventually paid off, and she agreed to leave London for the sunny capital of Roseau. After selling their UK home, his business and all their belonging, they landed in Dominica excited and anxious about their future. While most couples their age would be planning for retirement, Ron and Sonia were starting over, intending to work on the island. But before their new lives could begin, they needed to find a home in their budget of $350,000, a difficult feat in a city with only a handful of properties on the market. And the hunt got harder as Ron insisted on a sprawling garden, and Sonia refused to be far from the city’s center. Find out if they find a home that meets her urban needs and his rural dreams when House Hunters International digs into Roseau, Dominica.
I looked at Marpin channel 49 at that time but nothing about Dominica only some home improvement programme. Were we misinformed.? A great shame. Stayed home specially for that. DNO they trick you too?
well i live in canada stayed up late to watch and it was never showed dont no why
Actually HGTV doesn’t exist on Marpin again. There’s a poor ‘transmission’ of DIY network…
Would be nice if Marpin could re play it…. I only just heard about the documentary.
somehow i missed the show last night. Is there any replays or recordings available?
The episode was great and Dominica looked beautiful!! We need this positive exposure.
The show was very good and good for Dominica. I hope Dominica gets more exposure in the future.
Amazing they were able to buy something I thought Skerrit had already sold the whole island to China.
What ignorance
Thanks Marpin 2K4 for finally bringing back HGTV….I hope it remains

11:30 tonight Feb 26 or 11:30 last night?
Admin: It was last night. The story was published last night.
MARPIN no longer carries HG TV, which is a darn shame! It has much better quality programming than that crap ‘Do It Yourself’ channel! Why would MARPIN remove popular HGTV for THAT?! Yuck!
Nice episode, although I thought Ron would never get the garden he wanted, cause he forgot he wasn’t in the country, lol. Finally settled on a nice property. Im glad to see Dominica featured in an episode again. Roseau looked like ‘country’ lol, poor us. One day man,…. we will upgrade.
Very nice….I liked House #2. I hope you all enjoy the Garden. They layout have a lot of potential. Enjoy Dominica.

typo…The Layout have a lot of Potential.
Dominica has been featured more than five times on that program here, on Dish cable television channel 112, so too was Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago. Unless it is a new season, with something different, that is nothing new.
The program is called House Hunters International.
