The Dominica Integrity Commission will join the international community in commemorating International Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on December 9. Tracing back to the adoption of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on October 31, 2003,  it serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against corruption worldwide, said a press release from the Commission. The statement added that this day’s purpose is to elevate public consciousness about the significance of combating corruption and to reinforce systems of integrity within societies.

According to the release, in 2025, the observance began with a series of activities that kicked off on Monday, December 8. The highlight was an Ecumenical Service and Awards Ceremony held at Bethesda Methodist Church starting at 10:00 AM, conducted under the patronage of Honourable Rayburn Blackmoore, Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs, in honor of International Anti-Corruption Day.

The Integrity Commission reaffirmed its core mission of promoting honesty, transparency, and accountability, emphasizing that the day serves as a potent reminder of the collective duty to uphold sound governance.

“It reflects the moral and civic duty of all citizens to support justice, honesty, and ethical conduct in public life,” read the statement.

During the ceremony, Her Excellency President Sylvanie Burton awarded Compliance Awards to seven individuals involved in public life. These recipients were recognized for their consistent commitment and strict adherence to the principles outlined in the Integrity in Public Office Act. Many of these awardees are among the longest-serving declarants and have maintained exemplary compliance throughout their careers, shared the Commission.

Additionally, the Commission honored Mr. Julian Johnson, the inaugural Chairperson of the Integrity Commission, with the Outstanding Service Award. Reportedly, the accolade acknowledged his distinguished leadership, unwavering integrity, and significant contributions to public service.

As part of ongoing observances, the Integrity Commission will also host a Prize Giving Ceremony in January 2026. This event will honor winners of the Primary and Secondary Schools’ Essay, Painting, and Poetry Competitions. These contests, organized under the theme “Uniting With Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity” for the 2024/25 year, are part of what the Commission says are its efforts to cultivate a culture of honesty and ethical behavior among the youth of Dominica.

“The Dominica Integrity Commission reaffirms its commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and ethical governance in the Commonwealth of Dominica,” concluded the statement.

CORRUPTION is synonymous with Roosevelt and his faithful, zealous, parasitic apostles. The famous quote “Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely” was written with Roosevelt and his adherents in mind by Lord Acton.

Corruption is so prevalent in Dominica that it has become a cancer that has completely upended democracy. Democracy once alive and flourishing in Dominica has been murdered by corruption.

Lastly, any nation that is at the bottom rung of the ladder CORRUPTION is the main suspect. A nation cannot prosper when its foundation is rooted in corruption. Dominica is a perfect example of this.

Bringing young women to your offices and putting your hands where it should not go for a promise is integrity? siphoning state resources to enrich oneself is integrity? Well i am a saint and I am putting in my application to the Roman catholic church to be cannonized.
