The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica reaffirms its support and commitment for the one China Policy and for the peaceful reunification of the People’s Republic of China and the province of Taiwan. The one China Policy has been articulated by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica since its establishment of diplomatic relations with China in 2004. Dominica’s decision is based on well-established international law, strongly affirmed by United Nations Resolution 2758 of October 1971. The People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate Government of China and hence, China’s membership in the United Nations.
Therefore, it is widely accepted that the future of Taiwan remains a matter within the internal affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The Taiwanese Presidential election has always been viewed as part of China’s internal politics and has in no way been interpreted as an act that can lawfully bring about the independence of Taiwan. This election is no exception.
Dominica, has at the core of its bilateral relations with the People’s Republic of China, further upheld the principles of mutual respect for the sovereignty of the People’s Republic of China and for the non-interference in its internal affairs. Taiwan, despite any attempt or pronouncement otherwise, remains part of the One China, notwithstanding the results of the January 13, 2024, local government elections.
It is on these grounds that since 2004, Dominica has maintained deep and friendly relations with the People’s Republic of China, continues to recognize the One China principle and remains committed to strengthening the bonds of this enduring friendship.
Roosevelt Skerrit is nothing more than a lapdog of the Chines government, which have a leach around his neck leading him down the path of destruction like a helpless dog!
Roosevelt Skerrit is the only person in a elected government in the Caribbean region and the world in support of this one Chinna Policy.
If this guy was not stupid, he would have done some research even is to simply find the motive of these Chines one policy; even without the intelligence to figure out their motive, his commonsense should predict the Chines intends to colonize every poor country such as Dominica, without firing a single bullet!
By the time the eyes of Dominicans open to see the power Roosevelt has given over our people, they will find that the Chines not only own Wesley, but indeed own the entire country!

In Dominica today in the Prime Minister’s office today we have individuals who were involved as working for American Politicians – as a political science student I know.howmitnworks.whwm you work for people.

But Skerrit is bound to keep the one China policy because he knows the moment he tries anything different that one China policy will swiftly deal with him. But that one China policy is quickly destroying us in Dominica and we have been forced to pretend as if it’s working when we know damn well that China is quickly taking over Dominica
The one China policy is Chinas, Foreign policy – every nation wanting to do business- trade with China has to support this or.affirm this. The United States has to as well. All nations at the United Nations the countries with seats at that table are recognized as countries. This is the type of politics that we do not understand.
It is up to.each country to know how to deal with other as well as manage it’s debt and its shores and understand geopolitics and operate.

The geopolitical issue with China and Taiwan and USA involves us not direct but when the issues arise and voting at the United Nations come into play there we will not be pressured to vote with the United States. We are a. sovereign state and we have diplomatic relations with countries at the United Nations – laws which govern international relations or rules which guide how states or nations interact in the international community or the United Nations. The United States is the leader of the free world and hyper power in this region therefore we knowing what is what will have us make better political decisions.
Looking at what is going today conflicts in the international community and. the tense situation with China and the USA which does not have diplomatic relations with Taiwan which means that they do not recognize them as a country. Willing to sell them weapons to defend themselves. To save us conflicts.

Although I’m in favor of China over Taiwan, it’s theirs, and Dominica over Bird Island same as Guyana and Esi Region; I agree Black man has no right in their nationalist friction. But Black man gets money, oohhoo, complete with a Chinese Confucius classroom at his one single college but fails to arouse pride, confidence, sense of belonging to his people by erecting his own Sheikh Anta Diop or easily an “Africa” classroom of philosophy. When/how did we and our boys sink that low? Since Rosie and Bob Marley were taken out/unalived?
knowledge is power. in the international community we cannot afford.to.not be educated. first of we have diplomatic. ties with China as in the international community the protocol of congratulating prime ministers or presidents during elections. Taiwan. we don’t have diplomatic relations and the situation with China and the USA with the USA being the hyper power in the region and taking measures to counter China in the region.
We as a nation should and must be very careful what we do.
We in Dominica, we already have a problem with our government – exhibiting American Influence which can cause.uaniaaues. We have multiple American citizens in our government offices and these individuals are not in Dominica’s interest because.they fail to inform us of what is or was going on.
I say this as a. political science student at a MAJOR UNIVERSITY in the United States and the situation in the USA – it is bad.
Do we have to grovel every time there is news in that part of the world? What does the election in Taiwan have to do with us?
Supporting the one China policy the USA does im order to do business with China -trade with them.
Taiwan does not get.that. See the USA president today Shaming Taiwan and they are still not getting it. So we have to let the United Nations rules guide us in the international community.
The situation with the USA and China .Taiwan etc and the famous United Nations voting we have to know what is going on geopolitically and be confident as we participate in the process and a well informed decision.
No diplomatic relations we cannot talk to you, Taiwan is not at the United Nations they are not recognized China has the seat at that Table.
