Dominica votes for immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza at UN

Dominica has joined 153 countries from around the world in voting in favour of a resolution at the United Nations (UN) calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in war-torn Gaza. The draft resolution was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. The resolution was presented by Egypt with the support of 100 countries and it eventually passed with 153 countries, of the 193 which make up the General Assembly, voting in its favour.

Ten countries, including the United States (US), Israel, and Austria, voted against the resolution, while 23 countries including the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Italy and Ukraine abstained from voting.

“We thank all those who supported the draft resolution that was just adopted by a huge majority,”

Saudi Arabia’s UN ambassador Abdulaziz Alwasil said after the vote. “This reflects the international position to call for the enforcement of this resolution.”

The resolution is non-binding and carries no legal weight; however, it indicates what the rest of the world thinks about the ongoing conflict. Palestinian envoy to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said the vote marked “a historic day in terms of the powerful message that was sent from the General Assembly.”

One of the sticking points before the resolution was adopted was the fact that it did not specifically condemn Hamas for its attack on Israel on October 7. Efforts were made to have it amended to include the condemnation of Hamas but the amendment failed.

This prompted Israel’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, to say that the General Assembly was “about to vote on another hypocritical resolution.”

“Not only does this resolution fail to condemn Hamas for crimes against humanity, it does not mention Hamas at all. This will only prolong the death and destruction in the region, that is precisely what a ceasefire means,” he said.

He added that the only intention of Hamas is to destroy Israel and that the group has declared that it will repeat its atrocities again and again until Israel ceases to exist.

“So why would anyone want to aid Hamas in continuing their rule of terror and actualizing their satanic agenda?” he asked. “We all know that the so-called humanitarian ceasefire in this resolution has nothing to do with humanity. Israel is already taking every measure to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.”

The draft resolution also demanded the “immediate and unconditional release” of all hostages as well as ensuring humanitarian access to the besieged enclave.

It is reported that Hamas took about 240 hostages when it attacked Israel and took them to the Gaza Strip. During a weeklong truce in late November, 105 captives were released but it is believed that 138 are still being held.

In addition to the cease-fire, the resolution expressed grave concern over what it described as the “catastrophic humanitarian situation” in the Gaza Strip and the suffering of Palestinian civilians. It also pointed out that Palestinian and Israeli civilian populations “must be protected” per international humanitarian law while demanding all parties to comply with their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law, notably concerning the protection of civilians.

    @Channel One aka Lin clown:
Your double standards were screaming at Russia on Ukraine, you support anything E.U, U.K and U.S deadly regimes. Although it is said Israel built some of those tunnels, thank goodness China and Russia are there to check the three of them from Putin boots on the ground – no pun intended 😀.

Channel one, I like your comments. Note: the word of God said he will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel!
Without a doubt there seems to be a curse on Dominica long before this, that’s why there’s so much poverty in Dominica.
The UN is controlled by the devil and since he is trying to destroy Israel, no wonder just about all the poverty stricken nations are the ones which voted against Israel.
Here Hamas attacked Israel, in recent days the United States influenced a ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
They did not thank God; they decided to shell Israel, they went into Israel and kill people at a buss station.
Notice the more powerful nations abstained from voting, nevertheless: wet-fart Roosevelt, and his idiot in the UN under the demonic power of Satan just had to side with the devil.

The biggest disappointment during this genocidal attacks on the Palestinians by the Zionist State (Israel) is the failure of the United Nations (UN) to curb the carpet bombing of Gaza, attacks on the West Bank and to a lesser extent Lebanon.

The structural configuration of the UN renders it ineffectual. One country of the Security Council can avert the will of the others by the power of the veto. The USA has the blood of thousands of Palestinian children, mothers and grandmothers on their hands. They give the Zionist State unbridled support to kill Palestinians at will.

The world is in big trouble. Life on earth is uncertain. Human beings might just have to migrate to the moon or mars.

Bare foolishness. Why doesn’t these globalists organisations along with their puppets & sycophants tell Hamas to stop using civilians as shields, stop hiding among civilians and stop building tunnels and other military infrastructure amongst civilian infrastructure such as hospitals?

The real humanitarian crisis is Hamas terrorists jeopardizing civilian lives. They are the ones endangering civilians.

Hamas has as one of its aims wiping Israel of the face of the earth. How does anyone with sense expect Israel to take these threats lightly?

Joke all you these globalist organisations & y’all mouthpieces are making.

“anyone who believes hamas’s lies are ignorant of the fact that hamas went looking fir this and the people of gaza has made no effort to get rid of hamas.”

I suppose you are saying that the Palestinians should simply sit by and absorb the subjugation and humiliation meted out to them by Israel? If Israel has the right to defend itself when attacked, don’t the Palestinians also have the right to fight against a murderously oppressive occupation? And if Israel has (apparently) the unfettered right to detain, humiliate, and mutilate unarmed civilians at will, with impunity, how is it that the one fighting Israel’s occupation is worse that Israel when he decides to also kill unarmed Israeli civilians?

Hamas actually mimics Israel’s action. Have a closer look. If there is no justice and peace for the Palestinians, we should not expect the same for Israel.

If you were following the action, you would have known of the losses Israel is suffering. They might call off this offensive if the losses continue.

There will be no ceasefire in Gaza. A ceasefire means that Netanyahu may exit office faster than expected, so he wont allow a ceasefire. In the meantime Biden, the leader of the most warlike and wicked government on planet earth, America, is supplying Israel with all the ammo it needs to kill innocent civilians in Gaza.
Nothing about war crimes! Not one work.
Only now i know why MEME (a very intelligent person he was), was so anti America!
    Missing you MEME!
