The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) has announced a press familiarization trip to Dominica. From Thursday, November 23 to Monday, November 27, 2023, representatives from Caribbean Airlines, travel agencies, and prominent
environmental influencers will embark on an immersive journey to experience the best of what Dominica offers.

The trip is designed to give participants a firsthand understanding of Dominica’s rich biodiversity, eco-friendly initiatives, and unique tourism offerings. With a focus on eco-tourism, the DDA aims to enhance destination knowledge, promote responsible travel, and boost Dominica’s reputation as a leading eco-tourism destination.

“Caribbean Airlines is more than just an airline partner; they are a vital link connecting the world to our unique destination. Their broadening reach, both within and outside the Caribbean, provides a variety of options and creates exciting opportunities for travelers to discover the hidden gem Dominica,” said Colin Piper, CEO of Discover Dominica Authority.

Monelle Alexis, Communications and Public Relations Specialist at DDA, added,” Dominica is a paradise for eco-tourists, and we are excited to showcase our island’s commitment to sustainable practices. We believe that this FAM trip will not only enlighten our guests about the wonders of Dominica but also inspire them to promote our beautiful island on their respective platforms.”

The itinerary includes a range of on-island activities and experiences, such as hotel visits, nature hikes, and cultural interactions, providing a comprehensive overview of the island’s attractions. Additionally, the DDA will host a press conference and meet-and-greet on Thursday at 5:00pm.

The trip is also expected to facilitate a myriad of networking and partnership opportunities. By connecting with local businesses and tourism officials, participants can explore potential collaborations, ranging from package deals between airlines and hotels to sponsored content on influencers’ platforms.

As the state-owned airline of Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean Airlines operates flights to the Caribbean, North America, South America, and beyond. With an extensive route network, they offer travelers various options to connect with different destinations worldwide.

” Why can’t our government purchase some planes like what Liat used and run flights to the VI. Tell our citizens who’s coming from America, England or Canada to fly to Antigua and have our Dominica airlines pick them up and take them to Dominica the same day.”

Tony, I don’t want it to look as if I am picking on you, but that in the quote; is irrelevant in the 22nd Century!
Dominica was a shareholder in LIAT back in the 1960’s until the late Eugenia Charles, found out it was a dead none-profit venture, so she pulled Dominica’s share out of it.
Just prior to collapsing recently, Ralph Gonsalze compelled the Moron Roosevelt Skerrit to insert ten ($10,000,000.00) million into LIAT, which shortly thereafter it collapsed. Dominicans invested into an airline which failed; one of my cousins was married to one of the brothers; so Government investing into airline is not the resolve.
And the reason why your flights were cancelled might be because you were the only one traveling to…

Hello and good evening my people. When is Caribbean Airlines starting flights to Dominica and the Virgin Islands. Every month is some big announcement that end up being nothing but hot air. It’s very simple if we can’t get a flight to Dominica then we are not coming home. Just last month I took Jet Blue to Puerto Rico for an adjoining flight to Dominica only to find out that flight is cancelled. I came back in the morning only to be told the flight is delayed until three thirty. I walked around San Juan airport until two PM when they told us the flight is cancelled so I took American Airlines to St Thomas where I spent a week then I returned to New York. Why can’t our government purchase some planes like what Liat used and run flights to the VI. Tell our citizens who’s coming from America, England or Canada to fly to Antigua and have our Dominica airlines pick them up and take them to Dominica the same day.
