Dominican female arrested in London

Gholda James
Gholda James

Gholda James, a participant in the first Dominica’s Next Super Model show, held earlier this year, has been arrested at London’s Gatwick’s airport.

DNO  has confirmed that James who arrived there on a Virgin Atlantic flight this week, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs.

James, who is from Point Michel, was found with 2 kilos of cocaine in her suitcase.

She left Dominica on Tuesday this week for a one week intended trip to London.

If your country people didn’t need it, there would be no reason for d/cans and other people from different nationalities to be supplying it. So really, your country people are just as responsible and just as guilty. I’m not saying what James did was right. Well, you know what they say about Point Mitchell girls. I hate to say it but I must….”Wat a Waste”
For the first time I wish I was going to Jail to share the same cell with her. Anyways, pretty is as dumb can be …..you do the crime, you do the time! Let that be a lesson to the rest. Living on the fast lane actually gets you nowhere …really fast.
But girl, if you are reading this, which I highly doubt, look on the bright side of things,
    1) Your vacation just got extended to at least 15 years
2)shared room, no rent, includes break, lunch and dinner
3)Get to make new friends who will eventually allow you to go through their initiation test before your become family.
4)Definitely will pop your other cherry …many times

The rest is for you to just go with the flow

My advise to you is get a hubby …..Start smoking if you have not already

looks like it is you who gave her the cocaine to travel or did you put it in her luggage to ruin her life. for all you know the poor girl did not even know it was in her bag after all why would she take such a chance knowing that bags are scanned and sniffed through security. sounds like a set up to me. you never know!!

what it sounds like is someone that was under the impression they could traffick drugs from one country to the next without the understanding that its illegal and there are measures to prevent such illegal activity. as a youth many people apprached me to do those things I was lucky enough to have the understanding that this type of business never ends well for anyone involved. also if they were smart they should have asked someone under the age of 18 which the law would not apply to; also you can make more money doing legal things than illegal.

What happen all you stupid or something? Talking about check surveillance and if her suitcase was locked. Please if you don’t know nothing don’t talk cause as I and many other travellers who has used virgin Atlantic know, your suitcase is sent straight through to England from you’re cleared in Dominica. So what all you really talking about. I’m in no position to judge but give wrong where wrong is wrong. I pray for you, and I hope you open your mouth and talk cause its clear that you’re not talking hence why they haven’t sentenced you. This ain’t the gholda I know but boy was that a stupid move on ur part.

    • July 9, 2013

Hello you must stop calling people name and stop using derogatory words at people. Now you said that if you used Virgin Atlantic and once you are cleared in Dominica your luggage is sent straight to England which is true but you are missing an important aspect about your luggage. We know that Virgin Atlantic don’t fly directly from Dominica to England therefore once you clear security in Dominica your luggage is placed on Liat for an adjoining Virgin Atlantic flight either in Antigua or Barbados. The people in Antigua or Barbados who’s transferring your luggage from Liat to Virgin Atlantic can tamper with your luggage and that’s easy to accomplish isn’t it. Now if this young lady was being used as a mule then she should face the consequences but if her luggage was tampered with then the Court should remedy the situation . Also don’t think someone cannot tamper with your luggage because once you check your luggage in then you don’t have physical control of your luggage . Also did she tell you she did it because I heard she pled not guilty.

5-10 years in a British Prison.Thats what the results will bring. When last you ever heard someone got released for concealed drugs through those airports. Don’t forget the last two Dominicans that got to burn Jail for that same thing. This aint Dominica. They Dont care whose drugs it is. As long as they find it in your Suit case you’re toast. I’ve passed through Gatwick Airport countless times, They get suspicious if you even sneeze the wrong way much less for carrying 2 Kgs of YAYO.

I would encourage Gholda to enquire into studying while in prison. All she has is time and she should utilize it wisely and come out better than she went in. The opportunities for study are there she just needs to register and may need some funding but the Prisoners Education Trust will be able to assist. Although internet is not available to prisoners, there is a Virtual Campus set up for them. Here is a link for further information: http://www.prisonerseducation.org.uk/index.php?id=190

I am not sympathetic to this situation due to the fact that this young lady had a choice. She is a beautiful and promissing young woman that got sucked into this mess by her own doing. I remembered being about 18 years and offered a same deal. To be a mule. I was not working at the time and god knows I needed the money. But you know what!!!! I was raised with sense, and my common sense told me to walk away. So I did. Today, I have my degree, a beautiful family and a good career. All out of hard work and commitment. Choices people!!!!

Many Dominicans in their limited knowledge are hastily claiming that the reason that this young lady was apprehended was due to her allegedly stating a 1 WEEK visit in England. What you all are missing is that the Gatwick airport officials are much more clever than that. If that was their winning formula they would have never revealed it, since it would educate many would-be perpetrators.

Whenever they apparently reveal their security formula it is as a decoy. Basically to throw off criminals from their technique. In reality these cases are normally detected by High Tech surveillance equipment, visitor profile analysis and most significantly by INTELLIGENCE GATHERING. Indeed these agencies are so well networked that they usually get informed beforehand of the person coming to the airport, and they simply await them.

So please disabuse yourself of this simplistic notion that the British Border Control Mechanisms are so DAFT that they will instruct potential violators of their successful apprehension procedures.

Finally please bear in mind that this young lady remains DOMINICAN and as such one should not gloat at her tragedy, doing so is like shooting oneself in the foot. She still has to have her day in court so wish her well.

she was caught for many reasons
** main one is her ticket..1 week to London..flagged
    ** young and sexy..typical trafficker
** she was flagged in Antigua
** immigration questions..where r u gonna stay, why a short stay in the UK, do u work, how much do u make, who sponsored ur flight, who’s gonna sponsor ur stay, proof of u going back to ur country, how much cash do u have on u, who do u know in England and many more questions!
Answers she may have had also flagged her, once immigration goes through questions they gonna realise she is a trafficker..so young but can afford all this, dealers can only afford to send the mules to these places for short periods of time, hence one week, lack of cash on her, they won’t trust mules with plenty cash, she can’t give a direct address but hotel Becuz they would hold her sponsor as well which would defo be in connection with her dealings here..after immigration is done they call drug unit and that’s where the game is over, they will use this micro drugs test swab which picks up any residue during packaging of drugs. Handles of bags in bags purse just name it, if u had any kind of contact with drugs they will get a reading, swabbing of inside shoes picks up drugs, if it is swallowed…so ppl stop trying come England with drugs..plz don’t risk it

    2. duration of stay declared- 1 week

I do not know if you are a Catholic or not; would love to know. Consider how the Catholic Church, the Pope and Priests have been lambasted on this Website. If you are not a genuine practicing Catholic, you may have been one of those who did as them.
If you are not a Catholic and you followed their ungodly actions, then, you are two-faced for the woman committed a serious crime. You know the Law. You do not have to be reminded that her actions are lawless. She has also embarrassed Dominica and nationals. Now, Dominicans who travel to the UK will be more scrutinized than ever. They will search them.
As Paul Keens-Douglas said in his comedy show which is on tape: “They will dig (your) suitcases as if they are going back to the land.” No Dominicans including others from the West Indies, and those from Guadeloupe and Martinique, the French islands will be exempt.
Therefore, allow others their opinion. The problem with some people is, they are not fair and just. Who they should uphold and defend they do not. Those who should chastise they do not. This means, they uphold crimes and those who commit it, whether in Dominica or not.
I do feel sorry for her for she is now at the mercy of the British police and has a criminal record. She made a grave mistake. May this be a lesson for others.

It is so sad that this young lady would get caught up in such a mess. There are so many things about this story that Raise flags. According to comments it’s not customary that someone travels to London from Dominica for just a week, so that is one red flag. Secondly if you are going for just a week, why two suitcases? Thirdly in this day and age, absolutely no one should take anything from anyone and not have a look at it in front the person, I mean two kilos? Baggage weight is so ridiculous much less to carry something that heavy. I feel sorry for her family especially her sister Dianne who keeps trying to defend her honor, but as the baby of the family, you should have questioned her motives as to why she was traveling to London for a week, or perhaps you didn’t know. We make children but not their ways, her mother may have brought her up in every right way possible but the greed of this world makes us forget about our morals and values. It’s sad that her life has ‘gone done the drain’ as commonly said, but there are so many things you don’t need education for to make the right decision, common sense is a hell of a thing.

    • July 8, 2013

I agree it is sad that this young lady would get caught up in such a mess. Certainly, there are many things about this story that raise red flags. NO ONE knows her reason for traveling to London from Dominica for just a week, that should not be a red flag. People go on a week’s vacation all the time. Why should she not have two suitcases whether it was for a week, or several weeks? She may be one of those people that do not wash while on vacation. Hey, I do wash. I also agree that in this day and age absolutely no one should take anything from anyone without knowing the contents especially because of weight limitations and not to mention the additional charge. I think even if one do not want to question a person that is giving them a package, of any kind, out of respect or privacy, they should open that package for their own PROTECTION. I do not think it hurts to be SUSPICIOUS.

All we can do is feel sorry for her, and her family. By-the-way, do you know what her motives were? You all keep concentrating on “traveling to London for a week”. That is not unusual. Every parent give their children the proper upbringing, but some children follow their own paths. We have no idea what is going on except the allegations against the young lady. Why do you all think that her life has “gone down the drain?” she is not the first person that has encountered a setback. Hopefully, this is a learning experience for her. I hope too that she has an explanation, and that if someone really gave this to her without her knowledge, she DO NOT take the fall alone.

I have to point out that England is one of the most efficient and well organised countries in the world and their police is second to none. How in hell she thought she would get away with it. Just the one week ticket would raise suspicion. Plus the amount of suitcases?
Doesn’t she think these people have a brain. She was spotted straight away I’m sure. Note to Dominicans travelling to UK. You cannot fool immigration so don’t bother try. They know all the stories and tricks. It’s their job.

all the talk all the blame going her but why don’t you all ask where the hell she boarded the first plane? isn’t she from Dominica ? they must investigate to know whether she left Dominica with it or picked it up somewhere else.

    • July 8, 2013

That is exactly what I said. Where was security? How could she have gone through SECURITY UNNOTICED, and when she made her connection, did she not have to check in? How could that have happened if she did not have ASSISTANCE? INVESTIGATE FURTHER.

First and foremost, it is extremely sad what happened to this young and uprising lady. But the reality of the crime cant be overlooked. Let’s agree her one week trip to England was in connection with her modeling career, shouldn’t she have a sharperon? or be accompanied by some professional? Secondly, this young lady willingly agreed to gamble and risk her life and rising modeling career, when she was approached by whoever it was, to travel to ENGLAND for one week to deliver this package, with the expectation she would benefit in a big way financially, this all seemed good to her, and the USER was able to convince her in a big way, I also believe she did not tell her mother the real purpose nor the truth of her one week trip to ENGLAND. She knew her mother would never allow her to go on that trip had she told her the truth. In the mind of her USER and in her mind, she looks innocent, she is young, she is beautiful, and so may not be suspected by the authorities, little did she know is people like her the authorities are on the lookout for, and modern technology is REAL. All expense paid, she is going to ENGLAND, and that is the risk these young women take with their lives, dsignity and character, all for the the LOVE OF MONEY and WORLDLY MATERIAL. Today her mother is in pain, in tears, and so devastated, WHY? why young men and women do you allow yourselves to be USED, why do you put your families through this PAIN, THIS TORTURE & TORMENT? This young woman could have gone to ENGLAND time and time again making herself and family proud. SOMETIMES AS ONE MAKE THEIR BED, SO THEY’LL HAVE TO LIE IN IT. SAD BUT TRUE!! Young people, seek the Lord while he may be found, and he will direct your PATH!

What a shame, what a waste. She is very beautiful but
some more brains would do. She is obviously naive.
Even travelling with a little bush or cocoa sticks to make some tea can be troublesome when going to these destinations. The UK is perhaps the country with the most experience when it comes to securing their borders .
On the other hand, drugs destroy and kill people. facilitating this trade makes one guilty of murder or attempted murder.
Our young people need good role models, they need people to talk to them, their conscience need training.
I would like to believe that someone paid her, this the public needs to know. This scoundrel will pay for his/her crime.
I feel sorry for her. Thank God , there is forgiveness and the opportunity for repentance.Jesus makes the difference when we invite Him into our lives. If you believe in his sacrificial death burial and resurrection, ask him to forgive you for your sins, save you and make you His spiritual child.

    July 6, 2013

Another sad day for our young people. Such a beauty and one expected to have the intelligence of knowing right or wrong. This is a situation that is affecting the whole world. Some of us may say that she didn’t know what she was carrying and that may be true. However, you are constantly warned of carrying luggage for other people while travelling especially when you don’t know what is in it.

The other part is some of our young people do not appreciate what hard work is. We want the best, expensive and good-looking things and we want it know. We want to live the high life. We want fast cash but these come with serious risk and when we are caught we are then sorry. Yes, sorry we are caught. She may be innocent and she may be guilty, I am not here to judge her.

However the facts are that she went to England for a week, surely not a common thing fro Dominicans and that may have caught the attention of the authorities prompting an extensive search of her and her belongings hence the discovery of the drugs. Secondly she was carrying all this coke and this is illegal. The ball is in her court to cooperate with the authorities both in England and Dominica to help prove her innocence if she is. Other wise, she will be a beauty pageant in London Jail.

Parents, please raise your children in the right way that when they grow old they will not depart from these ways. Children, be honest, hard working and take time to grow, you will succeed.

First thing they will do is grill her and they will know from that if she is telling the truth or not. These people are very well trained to catch a mule. But when checking in they do ask the questions did you pack this yourself and are you carrying anything for anyone. So the responsibility will be on her. I see a long sentence ahead.

Everybody wants to be nice to the wrongdoers in Dominica but is the people who mean well and who are pointing out all their wrongs is who they love to hate! ‘Si i pas ni soutiwey i pas ni voleur…’ too many people are sympathetic to wrongdoers and criminals in Dominica. This is a sad and unfortunate turn of events for this young lady. IF she knowingly carried this item, then I pity her. But I know fully well that people like to give others stuff to “carry” for others, and thru blind faith, take these items on without querying what it may/may not be. I am willing to presume that this is what may have happened in this instance. I was once her age and I too did many foolish things. I also had blind faith in those I considered my friends. Blind faith can lead you down many ill-advised paths. Things were lookig promising for this young woman and I am hesitant to crucify her by accusing her of the crime without knowiing details of the facts. I would encourage others to withhold judgment as well. What I believe we should turn our focus on is the individual(s) from whom she may have received this stuff. They’re the real criminals here – they need to be found out and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The girl and her agents are just dumb. Even if they are used to doing this, they should have change their plan after they saw Shakes was arrested. People keep making excuses for this girl, people keep saying who without sin cast stone, well many of us would to do this so nonsense. Every time we log on to DNO we see a story of a young lady stealing here there and everywhere. They are not learning, maybe they do not even read. One thing is for sure, if I like it I have to work hard to buy it. People need to stop making excuses and teach our children to work hard.

“…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”
    (Philippians 4:11, NIV)
When we learn to be content whatever the circumstances, it takes away the power of the enemy. It takes away his ability to frustrate us. Not only that, but by our actions we are showing our faith in God. When you choose to trust in His timing, you can live in peace, you can live in joy, and you can rest in Him knowing that He has good things in store for your future. Today, find freedom in contentment and rest in His everlasting peace.

I met this young lady in a store and before I knew she was a model, I told her she looked like or should be one.
“My dear, I pray that you will be vindicated of these charges if you are innocent. If you are not, then may you pray for forgiveness so that our heavenly Father may heal and restore you.”Amen

Our young people are hurting. Please this is not a laughing matter any longer. Something is not right. We need to stand in the gap for our young people. It’s time we take back our children and reclaim them for Christ.

    July 6, 2013

At the end of the day no matter who is for her or against her, no matter if she knew or did not and it was a package just given to her it will not change the fact that she was the one caught with the drugs. She was the one who broke the law and whether she intended to or not she did drug trafficking. It’s not a glamorous situation but she will be the one doing jail time that’s just the hard truth. I doubt they will just give her a fine and a slap on the wrist because these countries take drug crimes very seriously. I just hope she reflects on her decisions and learns a life lesson.

  111. July 6, 2013

Good morning sweet Dominica. I am very sadden to read this post about the young lady but I have a number of questions. We know that Virgin Atlantic don’t fly from Dominica to London therefore she had to stop in Antigua or Barbados so could she have been set up in one of those Islands like her luggage was tampered with. The duration of her trip is very short so could some one in Dominica paid her to be a mule for them. If so she would have to be quite lucky to passed through two security checks to make it to London. If the drugs originated in Dominica how did she passed through Our airport or does the drug dealer have someone on the inside which allowed her to go through security without a proper check of he luggage. Our Law Enforcement Officials need to conduct an investigation in regards to the people who checked her luggage to determined if they conduct a proper search of her luggage or if they allowed her to go through security because of her status as a model . Also we don’t produce Cocaine in Dominica and if she left Dominica with the drugs then we must asked ourselves how is this drug getting into our Country. It’s a long distance from South and Central America to Dominica where the drugs are being produced so our Law Enforcement Officials must be cognizant of the methods of how the drugs dealers are bring such drugs to our shores. The last thing I want to say is that if this young lady decided to be a mule on behalf of a drug dealer then I don’t want to feel her pain but if she was set up then we should try to do anything within our means to help her. I visit Dominica at least twice a year and they always search my luggage by removing my belongings so if she left Dominica with the drugs I don’t see how she could pass through security without being detected unless her suitcase had a false compartment and security didn’t conduct a proper search or she wasn’t search.

    July 6, 2013

We really do not know the truth behind this story. Many are saying she did it, or she did not know. Maybe she was framed or not. Someone could have plotted this scheme to bring down this young lady because of Hate or jealously. She could have been innocent or not. But lets not all jump to a conclusion as yet to bring down our own people. Lets just be open minded and pray that this young girl is innocent. If she is not, lets pray that she learns from this mistake and move on. Everyone has done something horrible in their life, whether it may seem small to others. People of Dominica let us be mindful and think deeper than the surface.

Is this how we are showing Dominica to the world….
Drug bust, drug bust, DRUG BUST. It is sad, they do not hear: cure for cancer, powerful hospitals, people working for a change… Now agriculture here is going low, our tourism industry is now the best source of income to Dominica, why show our future tourists that drugs are involved in our growing community, this makes them think that there is a ghetto kinda community and we all know that is not true.

Anyway, I hope this lady was not really guilty, maybe drugs were implanted in her bag or something I pray for families and friends hearing such news and for her to have a clean conscience.

I am definitely not one to judge because I like everyone else here does not know the full or real story. I understand that we all make mistakes and that it’s all part life and growing. My only thing is I believe that we all have a choice in life and we are the only ones responsible for those choices, so whatever consequences they bring we should be pull up our socks and face those consequences. I went to school with Golda for 5 years and trust me she is in my prayers and don’t have a bad thing to say about this situation.Just remember that everyone you meet in life is fighting some kind of battle so you shouldn’t be too quick to judge people’s actions.

If anyone gave her a package to take to someone in London, that person is VERY SELFISH to entrap a person like that. When people give us packages to take to people we do not ask “what is in the package” we just take it because we do not believe HUMANS would play that naive game. However, I hope she can explain what happened and she can be allowed to return home or continue her journey. I do feel sad for her.

Drugs hurt and kill hundreds globally everyday. Just look around in Dca and see how many paros you can count….all because of drugs. So, I feel no pity, no sorrow but rather a lot of joy that drugs have been taken off the street (regardless of which country) and a possible “criminal” is behind bars until proven otherwise. Cmon this is not about Skerrit. This is about a young lady who made the wrong choice and about cold and malicious drug dealers who would stop ay nothing. Drug dealers will show up whether it be Skerrit, Eugenia, Eddie or Ambrose.

Let us not condemn an 18 year old just because she was lured into this unfortunate situation. I have never met a teen who has not made a bad choice. Instead of burying the young lady we may want to focus on the adults who influence her decisions and bad choices. She is already serving the consequences and what she need is support

    • July 6, 2013

I beg to differ Morihei the honourable prime minister is not to be blamed for young people’s behaviour but are led astray by religious leaders who teach that the law of God is abolished. These religious leaders promote lawlessness ,not the PM. According to Matthew 5:17-19 “Think not that i came to destroy the law..but to fulfill it…Till heaven and earth pass one jot or one tittle shall not pass from the law. Whosoever breaks one of these commandments and teach men so shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever shall do and them them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”. July 6, 2013

To Dianne…….Wow, I really am sorry for your sister and the family and for the pain that you must all be experiencing right now. This really is a sad situation for everyone. I hope that the wicked person who took advantage of her innocence, is identified and picked up and thrown into jail for a very long time. But more importantly, I hope that his/her conscience relentlessly attacks his heart and overwhelms his/her or heart with a pain of guilt which is just impossible to avoid so as to truly make them pay for what they have done to her and her reputation. I want to show support for you and your family at this time as my family has experienced similar ridicule and shame because of actions amongst its members for which the family as a whole holds no responsibility. However, when these things happen, and the will because we are human and all fail at one time or another, the family must rally around their loved one and accept that they have done wrong, accept that they must pay the price but not abandon them to the wolves. They must be supported and nurtured so as to save them physically and mentally. So I want to support you and your family, particularly if you all know that she was taken advantage of; God knows that a few years ago, it could have happened to me quite easily because I was so trusting. Just a sign of how much Dominican society sadly has changed. When I was a teen 20 years ago, I picked up ANYONE who hitched a ride from me and they sat with me inside the cab or out at the back of the pickup. Not ever would I panic about then having drugs on them. Nowadays, you virtually can trust NO ONE and so sadly, I would have to say that I would not even pick up a hitch hiker back home!! So sorry……….hold strong and try to give her encouragement that there are people who understand and that she will come out of it stronger!!! May God bless and keep you all…….

It does not even appear like there was any attempt to conceal the substance. Let this be a warning for everyone out there (not just the young). Trust no one so much that you accept packages without knowing for certain what is in them.

On a side note though, I cannot explain why she would go to London for just one week. I still find this part mind boggling, and I know this has others amazed as well. This part of the story makes her appear suspicious though, and it does not add to her credibility.

Again to Dianne, I would encourage you to talk to your sister and encourage her to be strong and to face up to what has happened with an intention to turn it around in her favour. Look at the positives and work with them…..if she gets time, which she most likely will, tell her to look for the opportunity to study while in jail in order that she can turn her life around and come out having achieved something. I am a Dominican living in London and so this is very close to home for me. Whether she is ‘guilty’ or not at this point is irrelevant. She has to look to the future now ready to come out victorious at the other end. May she be strengthened by the support given to her and may God bless and keep her throughout this difficult time and always. God bless……….

This is very unfortunate that in 2013 a young woman who is seemingly intelligent would think that she could put illegal drugs in her suitcase and enter an international airport such as Gatwick, going to London for a weeek? child please that is already a red flag, well you will serve your time like everybody else and have some alone time to think of your stupid decision. Seek God as your comfort.

Very unfortunate, but STRANGE. Last year a young woman was caught in Miami on her way to London from Jamaica, a woman traveling from Dominica was stopped and arrested in Antigua because she had a LARGE sum of money she either could not explain or did not want to explain how she acquired the money. However this happened to her, she is really in a bind.

    July 6, 2013

Bloggers we must not be too quick to rush to judgement of the young lady. she is such a beautiful girl full of potential. by the way she is very intelligent all this aside she will have to use that jail time to reflect and get her degree. My concern however, is the sickness of tolerance for the high and mighty we have allowed to permeate our society and the lack of strong, assertive, authoritarian not dictatorial and moral leadership we have allowed to enter and evolve in our dominica under LABOUR which started under WORKERS men of high repute like maynard (deceased) and Charlo have compromised themselves. They once stood for something but we like them have become so engrossed by the youth, vibrance and most importantly outward concern for the less priviledged of our society that we are turning blind eyes to the ills that they are doing and now thew chickens are coming home to roost. I don’t blame the drug dealers because the youth want to achieve it all with very little work and on top of that the OPPOSITION cries down justifiable hardwork. the PM worked his way up. studied and most importantly he took advantage of opportunities that presented themselves. these are never highlighted instead what have we become ? A propaganda society! each side has a radio station and daily they spew more words of intolerance, hate and violence. We attack all our institutions indiscriminately once they don’t pray into our agenda. NOW these acts of desperation are the results. I don’t blame the young lady fully because I know how hard it is and with little to your name it can be a tough road and when some form of opportunity present itself you may just be tempted to take it. For instance I was left with two acres of farm land no job but here I was going into agriculture with the little I raised from my hustle I tried when I went for a small loan $2000.00 the banks denied because I couldn’t get a salaried guarantor. mind you the land I am farming on is worth at least 1/2 a mil so you see how the youth have little opportunity. I believe it time we head back to a society where we do not reward mediocrity and praise success. this thing of job for the boys with no qualifications, protection at all cost must stop. These idiotic utterance by the PM, OPPOSITION LEADER, radio personality , church leaders must stop. Stop teaching our youths to find a scapegoat for their wrongdoings but rather teach them to accept responsibility, be proactive and so on. This cowardice that our leaders portend is haunting us now. We protesting for church leaders who do wrong, teacher abuse students yet we make them police officers, all forms of persons inauthority taking advantage of women under their leadership sexually and otherwise, church leaders openly engage in adultery yet we support them in their stance to remain at the head of the churches, ministers in alkl kinds of nonsence yet we support them. NONESENCE! that next level of stupidity we have accepted must stop. We can speak out afraid to be victimized gays want rights but those closeted gays in leadership hypocritically oppose and fail to realize that HIV/AIDS impact of these laws on our society, HIV people openly spreading their disease for a cell phone. So then with these things I forsee more young persons without opportunity going and get caught at Gatwick, killed in Guadeloupe or on the high seas if we continue to follow blindly and not demand accountability from all of US! These are the things we need to demand as Christians not gather when our adulterous church leaders asks us to gather so they can spew hate on the minority groups they demonize here but embrace in Europe and the states. With that said leave golda alone SHE ERRED! but as a nation lets us rally around our leaders to have her extradited back to her homeland where she can face her penalty with the support of family and friends. They willing to send hardcore criminals back to DOMINICA so send our GOLDA back we can deal with her just like the others. AND to the drug dealers send your sons and daughters before you send others if is such a bed of roses instead of leaving them to fry fish and bakes. ALL YOUNG PERSONS TAKE HEED! leave these opportunities alone find a decent hustle that is legal! OUR leaders lead us in the right way and PM now that you are married so the others under your command how to be decent persons because MANY of us look up to you for direction and sometimes we cannot follow what you pattern because we lack the means and resources to escape.

As a parent my heart bleeds. Why were you going to England for 1 week? Based on what I am reading here on DNO and FB why did you not listen to your mother? Now you reputation is tarnished. Why did you all allow people to use you as a mule? From what I read it is alleged that this is not the first time.
One may say that we should not mention the government in all this but look at the state the Country is in. There is no productive sector, the economy is stagnated, and unemployment is on the rise. The government needs to put measures in place to develop the country and economy. These young people are idle, they need work.
The devil is busy! Let us continue to pray for our children. This underground economy is killing our country. Change is not an option it’s a must.

Hello I know the original post is about the young lady but I took some interest in your post because you mention the economy which is directly related to jobs for our citizens. Now I can’t to Dominica in 2010 and I hired a consultant to give me an idea of what it would require to open a supermarket like, ext, Associate/C-Town or a Path Math like what we have in NYC. It took three month for the consultant to complete his report which was very disappointing to me. He basically documented that I would have to sign approximately one hundred and Fourty seven separate contracts with five individuals just to get things like milk/chicken/beef/pork/fax machine/photo copier and so on just to get my business started. So how can our Government expect us to invest in our Country when we have such ridiculous business practice. It was people with family name recognition that hold these contracts. This kind of behavior must stop otherwise our Country will continue to suffer and won’t won’t be able to provide jobs for our people.

    • July 6, 2013

Agreed. As parents our hearts are bleeding. FYI, people do take vacations for one (1) week if that is what their circumstance allows. Do we always listen to our parents? Where were the people that make such comments to know what her mother talked to her about? Her reputation is not tarnished, she will survive. If a THIRD PARTY is involved, yes, she (we) should not allow people to use her (us) as a mules. If, allegedly, this is not her first time, then she ran out of luck. She should stay home and do her thing. She probably thought since she got away before she would get away again, that is if the rumor is true. NO, we should not mention the Government because the Government did not send anyone to do what is illegal. The Government did not put the Country is it’s state. Blaming our Government is like blaming President Obama for America’s economy. Agreed, that the Government need to make the extra effort to assist it’s citizens; however, GREED will come into play and the DRUGGIES will continue to do what they do because to them it is easier to make their money. What the Government really need to do is STOP THE DRUG DEALERS.

I blame noone for what the young lady has done, but herself. In 2013 you are still believing that you will escape IN ENGLAND with cocaine in your luggage? Give me a break! IN THIS TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED WORLD! The material things in life have our young men and women going mad/crazy, and they will do anything to have these things, to feed their habits, and there is no shortage of people to prey on them!.
At the school’s level many do not bother about acquiring knowledge, but they rather to show of to their friends the quality of their cellphone and other gadgets that they possess. IT’S A SOCIETY GONE LOCO, AND WE HAVE PEOPLE out there who are willing to give them whatever they want, once they can use them…
HOPE SHE CAN EXTRICATE HERSELF from the situation, and maybe sell out the other party/parties involved, but it is indeed a mad/crazy world.!

Hello have you stop and thought that someone could have placed the drugs in her suitcase after she went through security in Antigua or Barbados. Didn’t you hear what was happening at Miami International Airport where American Airlines Employees were putting drugs into people luggage and when the luggage arrived at JFK another employee would remove the drugs. I must also say that if this young lady was being used as a mule to transport the drugs then she should do her time. The one week stay in London isn’t that relevant to me because I have traveled to Dominica and stayed for one week. This is a young lady that don’t have any pass history of any drug involvement as use or possession.

Look this is not new, it has been the same from the beginning of time. Those blessed with physical beauty will attract the rich and powerful and will use their god given attributes to get ahead in life. What is new about that? Look at all the families in Dominica that had beautiful daughters who married all the prominent names in Dominica and have legacies that still run the country to this very day. Our very own prime minister just married such a beautiful daughter of privilege and owing to her physical beauty, everyone thought that it was right and good so no harm no foul.
However with that beauty sometimes comes arrogance, people start believing their own press and when a man offers them riches untold and a jet set lifestyle, then why the heck not. They are beautiful, they deserve it and if the man wants what they have got down there, well he is going to have to fork over the cash for it. The term ‘hairy bank’ comes to mind here. There is nothing new here, as I said before, it has been going on since the beginning of time. In order for this young lady to have taken a chance and done something so stupid, she must have been thinking “I am a beautiful model type.”, “Even in London, I will blend right in and no one will dear question me.”, “After all, I am beautiful and revered.”
Well newsflash ‘hunty’, the people at London Airport Security do not give a flying pheasant’s feather who in the heck you are and if you are carrying drugs which they can easily see through their virtual imaging technology they will gladly string your behind up and make an example out of you, which is exactly what they have done. You are not the first and you certainly won’t be the last to join the ist of people who have done this. Physical beauty is a gift and if played it correctly, you could have married well and had your big SUV driving and looking down on the rest of us like the other beautiful people have done. Unfortunately beauty is not synonymlus with intelligence and you have proved that though and through.

Grand Bat girl the question you should be asking is why all this crime, why all these young Dominicans suddenly turning to crime, and why all these excuses and sympathy for people doing wrong? I grew up in Dominica and never knew crime and wrongdoing like this because no one tolerated it! Stop loving wrong! Dominica is the best place to be a criminal or a wrongdoer in the world because all Dominicans will love you and be sympathetic to you and pray for you. Just do not be a dogooder because they will hate you for it. Upside down country!

This is not the first time that pretty Dominican young ladies get in this . Remember a few years ago a pretty young lagy fron the country side told her mother she was going to Antigua for a week to rest because she had recently had a baby.

Next thing you hear is that she was caught at London Gatwick airport with a stach of cocaine. She was given seven years jail.

She came back to Dominica after doing her time with a cock-sparrow accent and talking about a cup of tie!!
Today she working in a restaurant in Roseau wiggling her backside so proudly so inocently and so proud.

This story is so true she severed 7 years and is back home. She lied to her parent and she knew what she was going to do, but it is big bucks. She did her time and is still walking on the streets so proudly doh even want to say hello. And the accent, like she was born in England. I go to the restaurant very often just to look and listen to her. One week to England is questionable. Her parent did not know her moves, because they would worry.

  154. July 6, 2013

@Justice and Truth July 5, 2013 “Many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them”

This is any example of the type of foolishness which you so often speak here, because you know nothing about God Almighty and His Son, His Person of Love, who is Jesus Christ.

Mind you, my intention is not to pass on any advise to you and your group–whatever you claim that group to be; but Holy Spirit is my witness, from my conscience. I will not allow Satan to contaminate the minds of those who are searching for the Truth of God, in Jesus Christ, through your false doctrines of those dead human beings whom your group have canonized.

I cannot condemn the idea of prayer but are you claiming that the “words of prayer{” from a human being like yourself, is more powerful than the “Blood of Jesus Christ” which can be received by the sincere faith of the person who is seeking the Truth and Salvation–which is Life in the soul?

Have you not read Isaaiah 29: 13, when God said about His people, the Israelites: This people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and in vain they worship Me, speaking as doctrine, the commandments of men? Jesus repeated that Scripture in the Gospels.

Do you not understand the teachings of the apostle Paul, who tells us at Ephesians 2:8-9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (not of works), lest anyone should boast?

And the kind of works, which Paul is referring to is the work of religion–the man-made rules and regulations, which you and your group embrace–like the “worship” of Statues.

Here is another one from Ephesians one; Paul is still the teacher as he says: “He (God Almighty) chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be “holy” and without
“blame” before Him in Love. He, having
“predestined” us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1: 4-6

And the “predestined” of God Almighty are those who will undergo the New Birth in Love by their faith, through Jesus Christ, the Son, we become the adopted “Sons” or “Children” Your false ideas are nowhere founded in such “adoption” by the Birth of Love in God’s chosen people.

And so, you are not doing “my people” in Jesus Christ–they who are still searching for God’s Truth and Life, by His blood through their faith–any favor.

I now suggest that you hold on to your “piece” and piece is what I mean; it is bad for the innocent and the ignorant people of God Almighty in that corner of the world, which is also my Dominica. If you don’t mind, thank you!

Liz: It is sad how many people are trapped in a religious system that requires its followers to believe them without question instead of the Word of God.

They are deceived by the Roman Catholic Church because it is so large. Thy think, “How could anything so big possibly be wrong?” But Jesus said “…broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at.” Then He said, “…narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13,14) With all its color, and glamor, it is a religion that appeals to the five natural senses. They need to realize that the human race is fallen and broken. When it comes to spiritual things “…the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14) 8-O The human senses are not the means by which we evaluate the things of God.

When I was 14 years old a Jesuit priest 8) told me the church was built upon Peter. Being the mouthy kid that I was I told him, “The BIBLE says “Other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” The priest (Father Doyle) asked, “Where does it say that?” When I told him 1 Corinthians 3:11 he quickly terminated the conversation.

Today I would tell him the same thing because the Word of God has not changed. But thank God I have! Now I would have compassion for the man, decades my senior, and would show respect for his position knowing that it represents so many years of training. He was dedicated to his work and I often wonder how he ended his days.

I appreciated your reference to Ephesians 2:8,9. Oh, how I wish our Roman Catholic friends would read this! “For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

:-o The reality is we cannot do anything to earn or purchase our salvation :!: It is ALL because of what CHRIST did for us on the cross. The Bible says “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6) “But God commended his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

God has made full provision for our salvation by the giving of His Son! It is “not of works” done by us, but we receive it like we would receive a “gift”. It is ours when we believe! This is why the Lord Jesus Himself said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Yes, this is the gospel that Paul, the great apostle, preached in his day! Let all who are in doubt read more of his inspired words. “But to him that worketh not, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:5) If that was not enough he went on to say “Therefore being justified by FAITH, we HAVE (which means NOW as a present possession) peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

John in the last book of the Bible wrote, “The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life FREELY.” (Revelation 22:17)

Keep sharing the gospel as it is defined and given to us in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16, and Mark 16:15. There are so many confused and hungry hearts out there; in time some of them will be drawn to Him who is the one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus according to 1 Timothy 2:5.

Christ alone offered the final sacrifice for our sins: a sacrifice so perfect it can never be repeated (Hebrews 10:10), :-D and so complete no other sacrifice is necessary (Hebrews 10:12)! The Bible declares, “…there is no more offering for sins” in Hebrews 10:18.

      Once and for all
      O sinner believe it.
      Once and for all
      O brother receive it.
      Cling to the cross
      And the burden will fall.
      Christ has redeemed us
      Once and for all! :-D

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

@Francisco Telemaque July 5, 2013 “You see; whereas she won a title of supper model in Dominica, perhaps she and her associates thought now that she is supper model, and probably revered in Dominica, her name may have reverberated around the world, thus she would have obtained royalty treatment in England, and allowed to walk through customs with the “posison”

FETe you have spoken my very thoughts above–but I am glad it came out from you, not from me; because even if I thought about it that way, I questioned how could people of a credible age and learning, in 2013, be so foolish.

And also I think that you intended to write
“possession” and not “posison’–that is not even a word–Hehehehehehehehehe. You always make me laugh with those kinds of spelling–I can’t help it. Anyway you got my thumbs up rating!

As for that young lady, I am still hoping that it is possible this drug got into her suitcase unknowingly, and she will be cleared out from this situation of hers. I would hate to think that such a young and beautiful girl like her has ruined her reputation of the future–O dear

I would also hate to think that money was the cause of all this, because we all know that the “love of money is the root of all evil;” and where there is evil God who is Holy remains absent

He leaves the things of evil, and those who embrace that attitude and conduct, in the control of the god of evil–unless we know how to call out to Him for His mercy and compassion of Love by our sincere faith. Let us pray!

    • July 6, 2013

“And also I think that you intended to write“possession” and not “posison’

      Actually Elizabeth I meant poison!

After all cocaine is poison; by the way I read where someone believed to be the woman sister is talking about trust, and it takes trust to carry something to someone.

That is nonsense, if someone ask me to take something to their friend or relative in another country, they would have to tell me what is in the package. If I am told it is marijuana, cocaine, or any illegal substance; even a knife, which is illegal to travel with these days, I would not take it along, knowing it will land me in jail.

As far as I know, and if they are not doing that in Dominica, it is because of our backwardness. However, in every terminal internationally, these days, it is usual to hear over the intercom, “you are advised not to carry anything aboard, in your luggage, or by hand for anyone”, so that crap that her sister is talking, may convinced people in Dominica that her sister is innocent, but in England her faith is sealed.

She knew what the heck she was involved into.

  171. DON'T DO THE CRIME
    July 6, 2013

We have to pray for anyone and everyone. But we still have to remember there are consequences for our actions, good or bad. The Bible says the wages of SIN is death. Even though God loves us, we have to be punished for our disobedience, because we know right from wrong, good from bad, when we have the age of understanding.

Don’t we love our Children? but if they shame us and do wrong, don’t we give them some form of punishment? Every country in the world have their laws, even though we think they are right or wrong. Respect the country law. Dominica have their own laws. If the Government don’t want to enforce them, we will definitely have lots of problems on our hand. If you do the crime, you must do the time, including me.

Even in the USA, judges, lawyers, police commissioners, governors etc. No man is above any counties law. They might hide it, but sooner or later the truth will come out. This is why when I come to Dominica and when I am living Dominica, I don’t take anything for anyone if it is not transparent. Too many crooks can set you up, especially if don’t want you to make progress.

If she really did the crime of bringing drugs in the peoples country, she will go to jail, When she comes out, they will definitely deport her. And they will put her on some alert list, and she will not be able to go to no other country. So she is destined to stay in DOMINICA. WHAT A LIFE.

Each side wants to be right, only to find that there is a constant fight with half truths all around the place. Incidentally, Mrs. Leblanc confiscated my cassette of that special interview that I did with the former Premiere of Dominica. But, you get the point. Why are these heartless criminals preying on our vulnerable children? I am saddened for this young lady. I have an 18 year old son, and by interacting with him, he is still not able to make adult decisions, even though, society considers him an adult. I am outraged that these grown men continue to lure young people who have their full lives ahead of them into this mess. I do hope that they are apprehended. To the parents and love ones of the young lady, remember, where there is life there is hope. Do not turn your back on the young lady.

DC, while I agree with your comments and although I am not sure what you actually mean when you say about your son “he is still not able to make adult decisions, even though, society considers him an adult” I just want to say that any well raised child (especially an 18 year old) who has a sound healthy relationship with their parent or guardian, ought to be able to understand basic right from wrong, know that they must not accept undisclosed packages from anyone except maybe from immediate intimate family members, and will have continuous communication with their parents or guardians, any and every event or experience that are contrary to their values will be and is usually shared with their parents or guardians.

Many times, we say that we bring up our children in good homes, but they are lead astray by outsiders (friends etc.), but we fail in our parenting role to encourage and foster very basic healthy principles and practices such as easy, frequent, open and honest communication between parent and child; many parents and children only have a superficial relationship, they don’t have a real loving, caring relationship.

For example, any child of mind who is below 18 years of age will never be allowed and will never want to travel overseas unless it involves a close intimate family member or trusted organization and they would have someone of credence to oversee their journey if not accompanied by a close intimate family member. As a parent, we will also have full knowledge of the contents of their suitcase / luggage.

On the other hand, any child of mind who is 18 years of age or over, are fully aware of the precautions and travel guidelines issues / stipulated by travel agents and companies. Almost every adult knows that they must not and should not accept any package from anyone, especially strangers or even friends, without seeing what is in the package.

And believe it or not there are people who don’t like to work and would not work for anyone

this young lady is arrested in a foreign country thousands of miles away from home. this is one of the worse things to happen to someone especial a girl her age. u live in london, should be looking to see what sort of assistance u can offer to her in her situation instead of laughing and chattig B.S i live all the way north closer to Scottland than london and if i have to make the 5 hour drive to london to help her i will if her family can afford the trip to give her that support. though i dont even know her. but then gain perhaps u can even go see her cause u too might get arrested for overstaying on your visa. people like u just make me sick. no one is saying wat she did was right nor do we know the ircumstances of the matter. but based on her age i can tell some criminal took full advantage of her lack of knowledge and experience. but their day will come like those before them and their blood money wont save them.

Did she arrive in London from Dominica? Did she not hear and read the news about drug trafficking and that today many more people are caught than ever. Furthermore, a Dominican man was recently arrested as soon as he arrived at London Airport. It appears to me that they have Dominica on their radar and will scrutinize those who are from Dominica. They also have their bomb-sniffing dogs.
She made a grave mistake. The question is how did she allow this to happen to her?

its not just dominicans that the british goverment are checking, its everyone actually and for many many years any caribbean flights into the uk are always checked as you forget the caribbean has a rep for weed, so i do not think just because a certain drug lord form new town who has for years escaped the dominican police finally got caught (thank god), has made the english sit and look through just for dominicans, you are not being picked on but look at it though in a matter of weeks 2 dominicans have been caught, just saying!!!!!!!!!

She only got herself to blame, They can go through Dominica, Antigua, and other Islands with their drugs but be prepared to get busted when you reach this side of the globe.Stupid, stupid, stupid.

This is very sad indeed! But there is two sides to every story. Why would this young woman in her right mind carry 2 kilos of drugs in the suitcase in this high technological airports and believes she could pass free. I would want to believe that she know about it, its too unbelievable to me, not even to go down the street I will want to carry drugs for anyone. If you did it my girl that was very foolish and stupid of you.

You will be in my prayers, I hope you get through this because everybody have families out there and would want Jail time for anyone of this because its not an easy road especially being away from your friends and family. I dont know you but be strong.

Those young girls to like to live the high life they seeing on tv and hearing in rap songs…shopping spree in 5 different countries 1st class flights and all the rest. That is why they will not work but look for a big man with wife and children their age to give them money to live that kinda life. Work for what you want…stop stretching your hand to a man for money and think it ok cause you sleeping with him so it “paying back”. I 19 years and i doe think id be able to send you england(maybe in 10 years) but if you was my woman you wouldnt be where you are now….we would be eating a fry chicken bay front but at leaast it would be better than where you are now .

I dont want to be sound rude or offensive but the idea you describe is exactly how things work in dominica society: girls are willing to sell their p#### for blackberry, clothing or nails…its a desire to get everything without thinking without developing yourself…just spreading legs or open mouth and all desirable things come…

of course there are always great exception like brilliant women/girls working hard and getting degrees and doing things their own way. Respect for that! What’s good for the goose, is good for the…..You can finish the rest. 2. All those crap comments about the country hard bla bla. That’s BS. Anybody can get themself out of poverty by working HARD at it! I’ll say this. If you do the crime, do the time. We don’t know the circumstances that led up to her having drugs in her luggage, whether she knew or not..If she did know, then she should suffer the penalties. It takes a VERY long time for you to sit and ponder on an act as trafficking drugs. While you were waiting for your flight on liat…to take your connecting flight, you had alll that long ride to the airport to change your mind. And i can bet my LAST dollar that liat was late….giving you even MORE time to sit down in the departure lounge and CHANGE YOUR MIND. I say take what you get. You’re young. You’ll learn. I wont pray for your deliverance. I will pray that you LEARN from that and NEVER do it again!(after you serve your sentence that is). Peace!!!!

    • July 6, 2013

How can you say no one knows what happened?

What is so difficult to understand, that the lady was caught with cocaine in her lugged?

That is called trafficking in drugs; if she had an ounce of cocaine in her purse that could be considered for personal use. She was however, caught smuggling two kilos of cocaine into England.

And I will say again, celebrities in Dominica means nothing to anybody after you leave Dominica, if Skerrit as prime minister leaves Dominica, and breaks the law in an Caribbean Island, he might get away with it, however, if he brakes the law in any European, or North American country, his diplomatic passport will not prevent him going to jail.

Case and point a government minister from the Cayman islands was caught taking bribes in Miami, and drug smuggling, he was arrested, his position in his country did not mean a darn thing!

So for this Dominica so called supper model, winner, or contestant , she had better find out what happen to Grace Jones, a Jamaican real Supper Model, who played in several James Bond movies, what happened to her in her own country Jamaica, when she was caught with a few ounces of drugs in her purse.

Dominicans take their crap everywhere, and believe just because they are from Dominica, they can get away with it.

That is why so many of them are living in jail in America, Canada, England, and so many are incarcerated on the island of Antigua!

It is too bad that she was not searched at the Dominica airport. She had to take a flight to London from another West Indian island, either Antigua or Barbados or another country. It is surprising that she was not caught prior to arriving at London’s Airport.

    • July 5, 2013

“A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY GIVEN A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE HER LIFE STANDARD AND STYLE AND SHE THREW IT ALL AWAY.” (St. John).

You should never underestimate anybody, or place them on a pedestal; since we all are capable of the same thing. What may appear to be an opportunity to you, may mean squat to someone else. I often wonder where the contestants who wins the title of next supper model go from there.

You see, somebody in Dominica is profiting from the shows, however, after the title, and whatever gifts of money, and the participants face hit the pages of the local newspapers, and local Television Stations, the show is over, the winner has no actual chance of walking on any Catwalk in Paris, Canada, nor the United States.

As a matter of fact those people could not even make it unto a show such as the Tyra Banks show! They are limited to:

      “The show in Dominica only.”

Now to be a supper model, modeling cloths, and shoes, the model has to be contracted with some major designer; and ninety-nine percent of the time contracted with a major department store to appear in commercials displaying their garments.

How many cloths designer are there in Dominica, designing, and exporting cloths?

The average person usually go on a vacation for a duration of five to ten days; that is not unusual, however, they do not tag along with cocaine in their luggage, I believe she was used as a “mule” for the purpose of delivering the drugs she was caught with in her possessions.

You see; whereas she won a title of supper model in Dominica, perhaps she and her associates thought now that she is supper model, and probably revered in Dominica, her name may have reverberated around the world, thus she would have obtained royalty treatment in England, and allowed to walk through customs with the posison.

Well, titles obtained from plays, pageants, and the likes does not shield anyone from scrutiny when they travel. If you come to California, and introduce yourself to someone, and then you say (I is de calypso king of Dominica),or better yet I am the calypso king of Dominica, and expect to see excitement on the face of the person you are talking to, may ask you “what is that?”

Big as you are in Dominica, as soon as LIAT takes off from the ground, you are nothing until you return to Dominica, your name, job, association with the Prime Minister, or any minister of government means nothing in the outside world, you are just another person, with a face, and some cloths on your back!

In other words when we leave Dominica we should leave all or ego behind, and be prepared for both culture, and future shock!

You break the law, and suffer the consequences, she will be gone for a while, where she will sit for a couple of years in a London jail where she will probably get a chance to model to her fellow inmates.

        Mr Telemaque .

Hello you are blaming a show and you bring politics into this for what happened to this young lady. Also you aren’t offering any insight or advice to our citizens which could help them avoid such situations.

      • July 6, 2013

@Francisco Telemaque, You got my thumps up for the first time. Very critical analysis with the pompous behavior and attitude that is usually associated with your posts.

Some more of this would make you a rock star blogger.

It is foolish of anyone to transport drugs in their suitcase in this 21st century. From dogs to scanners to psychologists works at these airports. They can all detect what you have in your bags sometimes just by looking at your behaviour.

I really wanted to read this. I really really tried. But your GRAMMAR and your SPELLING are driving me crazy! Its SUPER model….”supper” is the meal you eat around seven o’clock….CLOTHES are the garments people wear, whilst CLOTHS refers to the array of material from which clothes are made. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it much further than that to point out anything else. If you’re going to publish your own article in the comments section, at least proof-read! That stuff just really grinds my gears!!

Will our people ever learn? Why are you willing to risk a long jail term just to make another ‘big man” richer? How did the security personell at the airport not detect the cargo stashed in your suitcase? Are some of them in the game too? I feel sorry for your family but what you sow, thats what you’ll reap.Live within your means.L’argent fais diable dancer, but you’ll not be dancing any time soon.

What could possess a young lady like this to go and traffic drugs. Are you serious. And with all the technology that’s available why would anyone even attempt to do this shit. And I hope she gives up who is behind this to save her own life. Jail time am sure will not be fun. Very very sad.

Anonymous, I do not know if you are a practicing Christian. No matter how we feel, we are obligated to pray for every one in general with no exception including our enemies, those who harm us and hate us and criminals. It is hard to swallow and to practice, even for practicing Christians but God wants this and expects it of us.
Let me further inform you which some of you will denounce. One of the messages of the Mother of God, the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, The Mother of the Church, Our Dear Blessed Lady said to a visionary which is always a message for each and everyone of us without exception, God’s created children, “Many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them.” Do you read this! God wants everyone to be saved. Sadly, some who have predeceased us have already condemned themselves to Hell. Keep it in mind.
Therefore, if someone says to pray for her, it is rightful and just to do so. Through fervent prayers, God heals and changes hearts.
God is waiting for our prayers to save souls just as our genuine worship. Pray to God for this enlightenment since you lack it.

      • July 5, 2013

Anonymous, wouldn’t you like others to pray for you if you were in trouble? Remember we are all humans and any day anything can happen
