DOWASCO water week winners and prize-giving ceremony

DOWASCO hosted its Water Week 2023 activities prize-giving ceremony on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Public Service Union Building this morning.

The prizes were awarded in three main categories namely the Poster, Essay, and Debate competition.

For the Primary Poster Competition, in first place were Daniela Pacquette and Tessen Williams of the Soufriere Primary School. In second place came Sherquan Nelson and Jerani Seaman of Trafalgar Primary, and Dublanc Primary came in third.

For the Secondary Poster Competition, Sherbona Henry of North East Comprehensive came in first. Second was Lizanne Cuffy of Convent High School, and third was Saphirra Joyce of St. Martin Secondary.

In the Primary Essay Competition, Sa’Jani Alexander of Soufriere Primary won first prize. Camisha Role of Wesley Primary got second place and Caden Remie of Giraudel Primary came in third place.

In the Secondary Essay Competition, Syreina Harris of Convent High School was given first place. second place went to Jahnadi Francis of Community High and third place was Cadel Casimir of St. Mary’s Academy.

In the final competition–the debate competition–the winners were the opposing team, Nechante Leblanc and Asiah Yankey of Academix School of Learning.

Topic: DOWASCO should become a private entity.

The Proposing Team was Dominica State College, represented by Ajani Shillingford and Geyoudena Desir.
