Your responses to the posting are very encouraging.

The 2013 date allows for the necessary research that each paper will require. The research will involve delving into many records on the island and many research papers published on Dominica from abroad. It will also include analyzing developmental models of countries similar to Dominica. Some authors may decide to include primary data (through interviews, for example) from people who have been involved in successful initiatives in Dominica. While the methodological approach is entirely up to the author, the preparation of these papers requires much thought and takes much time.

While some of the contributors may be retired or full time students, some may also be fully employed, and so this will be an addition to their workload. The right time is when the papers have been written, and unless a paper is already written, 2 years is possibly the minimum timeframe.

This conference gives you who are interested in your country’s development the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution based on factual information and within a robust theoretical framework.

Come ye forward sons and daughters.

Excellent initiative. This is what I expect my people to be geting engaged in, instead of all this politics and internal fighting. Dominica is ours to build and we the people of Colihaut is leading by example. As always our Reunion was non political and so will be this Conference. Yes people when we put our heads together we succeed.

Thats a good idea, but i hope this time, all FUNDS will be accounted for.
And the resident of Colihuat will benefit because the resource center has never been built.Where is the money?
The same individual starting her thing, and then the villagers never get feed back. Until when they are ready to come and do thier drama.
I hope its not a political thing to divide the community again since after the election that village has never been heal. The so call Representation. I am wondering who he is representing ( domino or women ) .
Thats a good idea just be open and transparent.

we can have the politicians attend as a LISTENING AUDIENCE, they talk enough we should use this also as an opportunity to express to them what is EXPECTED OF THEM. and to REVIEW THEIR JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Is the date a mistake? 2012 or 2013? This date makes no sense to me. Why wait 2 years for a conference? It appears that the organisers want this conference just before the elections. Is it political? Don’t hold me in my throat, that was just an observation.

This is a very positive development of international standards and this way forward only seek to bring Dominica and it’s people to a “first world” level of thinking.
Let us broaden our minds and grasp this ideas which will make us a more globally competitive country.
I am not from Colihaut but fully support this conference.
