(DNO) Dominica will sign on to the much talked about OECS Economic Union treaty, on Friday in St. Lucia.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has been describing the accord as vital for the survival of member nations of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
“We will be in fact taking the OECS to the next level of closer integration, which I believe is important, if we are to survive in this very difficult period. We as just about 600 thousand people cannot continue behaving as independent states,” Skerrit underscored.
He has reiterated that Dominica and others of the sub region will attain benefits from the signing of the oecs economic union.
The treaty has been up for endorsement over the last two to three years. Skerrit believes there’s a general feeling of satisfaction among Dominicans regarding the contents of the oecs economic union treaty.
