A $27,000 donation has made to the Dominica Youth Business Trust (DYBT) by CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.
Rhona Lawrence, Business Support Officer of the bank, said this is the second time that the institution is contributing to the growth and development of young entrepreneurs in Dominica.
“This is the bank’s way of saying that CIBC First Caribbean has confidence in your ability to make things happen in Dominica,” she said at the presentation of the check on Friday morning.
Lawrence urged young entrepreneurs to always aim high pointing out that the bank is always willing to assist young business entrepreneurs to achieve their goals.
In the meantime, coordinator of the DYBT, Ceasarina Paul, noted that the donation was welcomed and indicated that the DYBT is looking forward to continued partnerships with CIBC First Caribbean.
“This fund will go a long way in contributing to our quest to develop more entrepreneurs and also to lend training and support to those already existing,” Paul said.
The DYBT is an initiative of the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, with support from the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
It focuses on a model by which young people are provided with the wherewithal to establish sustainable businesses.
I need to do business with you all, I have been thinking of local banking options and now I have one, thank you!
