New feature for national beautification exercise

Gregoire

A new feature has been added to this year’s November 4th national beautification exercise.

Cabinet Secretary Felix Gregoire says the beautification initiative, which was introduced three years ago, will be continued this year.

He says however the special feature will be a system of judging introduced to award the best projects.

“Government has made funds available to village councils and some community groups for projects to be undertaken on that day. The theme for that day is ‘Beautification as we Continue our Drive to Beautify Dominica for Ourselves’. This year’s special feature will be a special will be a system of judging so that the best projects can be rewarded. This will continue for a period of time,” he said.

He said all Dominicans should continue to keep Dominica clean and green.

Meantime the customary November 4th Street Jump Up, which culminates the National Community Day of Service, is expected to go on as usual.

Two local bands have already confirmed their participation in the event.

When one of your children or relative becomes the next Cabinet Secretary or PM or Minister or any other leadership position, would you want persons to treat them with such disrespect that you all are doing right now??????? Food for thought and put it in your pipe and smoke it.

Give Felix a break you negative parlerers. Go get something to do in your community and beautify your heart and respect yourself first and then others. This is one of the biggest problems – Disrespect for authority – the first one being God himself who has given us instruction for daily living which if we would follow, we would see that we have to respect authority and love oneanother. He is supreme and the ausome so when he is ready, he will do what needs to be done. All we have to do is obey his words.

We need to beautify Dominica starting from our hearts.Dominicas most important resource is its people.A people who is corrupt from the heart, will reach nowhere in their bid to appealing to the populace to try to be upright. We need to beautify Dominica, from corruption, poverty and indigence.

Well take the lead and do what you have to do since you are the first who is not corrupt from the heart. Collect those who are like you and not co rrupt and start something for DA and I am sure when others see that you are not corrupt in the heart then they will join you. Too much talk, we need action oriented persons who will things not for self gratification but for the love of fellowmen as Christ would like to be.

“Beautification as we Continue our Drive to Beautify Dominica for Ourselves”

That theme sounds like text that badly translated from Russian to English.

Remind me never to ask these guys to give me any advice on branding anything. A theme has to be easy and catchy. This one is anything but.

We need a national fix it day where citizens go out in their neighborhoods and fix the road, cut the bushes, etc. The island is already beautiful due to nature. We also need less landfilling with garbage and toxic substances and more recycling.
