Petite Savanne playing field nears completition

MP for Petite Savanne Kenneth Darroux

The completion of a playing field for the Petit Savanne community has moved one step closer to realization.

That’s because that project has entered into phase two, with a cash injection from government to the tune of $150,000.

Parliamentary Representative for the constituency Dr. Kenneth Darroux says this has been a dream of his people for decades.

He told the handing over ceremony of the money that Government has spent in excess of $350,000 for the construction of the facility thus far.

“This is important because in this global financial climate that we live in, investing this kind of money in a playing field should not be taken for granted. I can think of so many things that I could do with the money in the constituency. However government has seen the importance of sports in bringing people together,” he stated.

He said he is hoping that the completion of a new sporting facility will put an end to the ills of his once united community.

“I am hoping this would bring the people together, when the village was really one and none of this hatred and violence didn’t exist,” he said.

Darroux also called on the villagers to take ownership of the project.

It would be informative if a few pictures showing progress of works on playing field were displayed instead of a picture of the Minister!

This is an unfair statement! What has Petite Savanne ever gotten under this administration, even in the time of Urban Baron? NOTHING! My question to Dr. Darroux and the govt is: Where is the road to go with it (Geneva to Petite Savanne)?
I would have preferred a community center for the village.
