Registry being modernized – Douglas

Douglas

Tourism Minister Ian Douglas has said the legal affairs department is progressing well with the improvements of registrations of births, deaths and marriage in Dominica.

Douglas remarked in his Christmas Message for 2011 that the registry has implemented the Unified Land Information System.

He said government will continue to modernize the registry to bring it up to date with the latest trends and technology for the benefit of the people.

“We have also implemented the State Prosecution Service and have upgraded and refurbished the physical infrastructure of all magistrates’ court around. There has been much to be thankful for this year and I am happy that even in Portsmouth we continue to change the face of the town. We opened the brand new fisheries complex which serves all the communities; we broke ground on the new Moroccan hotel. We are happy about the development,” he said.

He said Discover Dominica and all stakeholders in the sector must be commended for their efforts in 2011.

The only problem I have, is when you stated; and I quote…”even in Portsmouth we continue to change the face of the Town”…..Even in Portsmouth?…What exactly do you mean by that?….So Portsmouth don’t deserve improvements as well then?…Isn’t that your constituency?…Shouldn’t Portsmouth be first and foremost on your agenda?…Isn’t it the People of Portsmouth who voted you in there, and shouldn’t you be representing their interests and the interests of the Town?….

Are those washed up boats which ran aground, still beached in the once beautiful harbor?…If so why haven’t you done something about them. Don’t you think it is high time you did?….

Next time you are going to make such statements…or any statement, please,I strongly suggest that you consult “Shem”….

And speaking about that “MOROCCAN Hotel”…I was told that five Cottage type huts were left unfinished and all the foreign workers left, because they were not paid.
They have left, or have been smuggled out of the Country….
    Is that accurate?….Nuh,nuh, I am just asking….

Dougie, boy, I like you,I always will and you know that.
I also know your hands are tied…But garcon, don’t get too deeply embedded in them man “calimarcion”…You know they don’t like you already and if they had their way,you would be out….So use some prudence and watch your step….Learn from that “TING” with Eddo. Remember is Tony who started it..You repeated it ,and look who has to pay now. You.

Keep looking out for Portsmouth and for the interests of the People of Portsmouth…there is where you were born and raised….Remember your Pops, and your Uncle…OK.

That is all for now mi friend..Happy New Year to you and yours…
Please, walk good!…GOD Bless, guide, and protect.

    All the best to you.

I know we were doing things back to front here. In the past we got our birth certificates the same day and we could query the information right there,
now we have to wait 3 days and the names and dates of birth have changed.

I’m just waiting for when one of those incompetent men in the ministry to say when they breaking ground for a multi level efficient hospital, a juvenile detention area, new prison building, fix Roseau sidewalks, better ambulance and equipment and a whole other list too numerous to mention. The only time Dominica was flourishing was in the time of the wonderful Hnr Dame mary Eugenia Charles who left a surplus in the bank and some parasite came and eat up!

Al you there building fancy hotel for tourist and DA people sleeping on floor. I mean if you guys going to take loans and beg for grants lets put some of that towards affordable homes for the many Dominicans and also toilets because even in 2011 I from Roseau know a set of people in middle of the city who don’t have proper sanitation (NO toilet). Let’s help our people! Thats why the place of such bad customer service. You working in a fancy hotel being all pretentious and you got no bathroom at your own home. I for one would be pissed off and pass it on them tourist and customers.

Dominica can grow more food to feed all its people so will depend less on imports. Why don’t we harness the gifts and skills in this country. Put money into what works. But you see when people only have English degrees and more concerned about suing local citizens than helping them then they can’t think of nothing good!

Dominica have a lot of things to not be thankful for. Case in point “The Government”. A ministry filled with incompetency.

I think this is a step in the right direction. My expectation is that these improvements will cut down considerably the waiting time for obtaining a certificate. The quality of service (the way the people behind those desks serve the public) also needs to be significantly improved.

” government will continue to modernize the registry to bring it up to date with the latest trends and technology for the benefit of the people.” (Ian Douglas).

I would hope that any modern technology you implement to bring about this change, will be effective enough to prevent civil servants from penetrating the system, and continue to produced hand written bogus, and forged birth certificate to people who are not born in Dominica.

With a false and bogus name stating that the imposter is born in Dominica, that sort of thing can serve one simple purpose and that is helping to hide the criminal for a while, however, criminals never getaway with anything.

The time will come when they will be caught, and if they have a criminal record, their fingerprint will reveal their true identity, deoxyribonucleic (DNA) acid may do the same, and the shame will bounce back to Dominica.

You old big-eye boy, go and take careof the man who lives in a cage like an animal, in your kingdom of Portsmouth.

The man seem to be decaying while he feeds on his feces man, what type of government minister are you?

How can you allow this to happen in your constituency?

Have you no heart, and when I say heart, I am not talking about that organ within you which pumps the blood in your body, thus keeping you alive.

Your actual heart, is your God given sprit; it appears as if people like you do not possess such an heart.

Clean the filth in which this human lives, after you have done that perhaps you can return and shoot off your mouth as usual, you little waste of time popeye!

re: “we broke ground on the new Moroccan hotel.”

Still scratching my head over that one…the only place that would be less convenient for the “Airport Hotel” that Morocco gave money for would be to put it in Grand Bay or Guadalupe.

How the h*ll can you have an Airport hotel that is more than an hour away from any airports?
