Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Valley Constituency, Dr. John Collin McIntyre has announced that the government has approved in excess of $1.4-million for road works in the Roseau Valley.
He was speaking at a town hall meeting in Laudat.
“We have approved in excess of $1.4-million for the Roseau Valley and out of that Laudat has in excess of almost half of that…,” he said. “We continue along with our road repair program, as you know when we got into office the village road was terrible, and some time ago we were able to obtain funds and material, and I think we are driving on a lovely road right now.”
However he said there are a number of other roads that need to be fixed, “and we continue to work on them.”
“We are working on the road to the school, the cemetery road, remember the days when we used to take our love ones to the great beyond and we had to go down there, it was mud,” he noted.
Dr. McInyre revealed that half of the works in that area have been done and there are plans to extend that road closer to the cemetery.
Furthermore, he said a number of local contractors will be contracted to continue to build the roads in the community.
“For us, Laudat is very important and we want to make sure that the people in Laudat they are riding on lovely roads,” Dr. McIntyre noted.
He told residents to inform the government of roads in Laudat which needs repair.
When the PM addressed the opening of the Flower Show back in May last year he promised a new concrete main road for Giraudel and Eggleston. Talk is cheap. I’d suggest no-one hold their breath. That’s the mistake we all made.
What happened to Copthall to Wotten Waven? So many people visit Screws Sulfur spa and they must traverse this rubbish to get there. Again, lack of foresight on your part. This is one of the most recognizable places on the island that locals and tourist alike flock too and the road is a mess. What about the two-lane bridge in Copthall?
what about the kingshill road? wicked set of people.
A vote for Colin McIntyre is still a vote for Skerrit he is no better than his boss and that’s why their is so much decent within the camp as to who should run the ship their isn’t any one because they all turn a blind eye for what !
The full cabinet must go we need fresh eyes on board I find that the Opposition is fully engaged with what is going on and the people are coming around because they care about the Island so Skerrit have lost control of the masses .
We have approved in excess of $1.4-million for the Roseau Valley and out of that Laudat has in excess of almost half of that…,”Colin McIntyre said. Colin what none sense you talking about.
Since when are you and the rest of the little boys and girls in the Cabinet are called upon to approve anything. PM always tells us that he is the one doing the approving, the rest of you little nobodies have nothing to do with anything so shut the hell up Colin
Well d guy has massive interest in laudat more specifically the middle east area of laudat. He has to fix his back yard! So laudat sweet boy!!!
Road works and projects all about…how much millions being spent and all you cannot pay public works department workers their salaries
Copthall to Wotten Waven, then Wotten Waven to Trafalgar. More Important. Laudat already has decent road. Better than most in Roseau.
imagine I’m not even reading the article. All I browsing for is the word “CBI”
Lol
Well Colin, I will not be voting you next general election, neither will my family members vote for you. In fact, I am going to ensure that you get less votes than the last election. Mark my words, we voted for you, and now we have not seen any jobs or development. You must go.
Your seat is the first to go next election.
Collin nah ready yet. Come next election he gone
Always good to see progress Dr. Mac
Next week the government may be announcing the construction of a subway system for the international airport compliments CBI
Just do it! What’s going on with these incompetent Reps? “This coming, and that coming” Just get with the program you all were put into office to get done; and don’t play games as though we are receiving favors from you all. Is this a joke or what? Well, here is the good news, “Jesus is coming soon.”
This government is working very hard.
After Seventeen years in office you think a lovely road is outstanding good Goverment??
Tell me about it.
These guys are expired good and must be thrown out of the cupboard. After 17years of enriching himself now he coming with that level of pittance and expect the people to vote him because he gave them some cement. Bye bye Doc, time to go!
Assertive like the rod of Moses!
Oh yes, this is his last term. Once the Valley turn thats it for the Government
Tch… What about Copt Hall, Wotten Waven, Morne Prospere?
Mcyintyre you only check Trafalgar and that area only. That is your ONLY focus. Just because you living up that way. The people lower down still have issues with their roads.
Also, what about the Copt Hall bridge? That thing is not gonna survive another Erika…
I HOPE you get no votes this time around!!!! Worthless…
Laudat has in excess of almost half of that… what does that mean?
Maybe he means ‘half’?! Because if the amount is “in excess of almost half” then it is not “over half” but it is more than “under half”… Chile, my red pen going strain through that homework with a big question mark…and come and see me after class!
‘straight’ not ‘strain’ eh las.
