With guests including the Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Norris Prevost, Rotary president Marvlyn Birmingham and head of Marketing at Dominica Discover Authority (DDA), the Rotaract Club of Roseau celebrated its annual handing over ceremony in grand style.
Held on Saturday 23rd July 2011 at the Flamboyant hotel, proud members of the club came together to witness the installation of the President Ghislene Paul, Vice President Bianca Payne, Kadisha Jno Baptiste as secretary, Treasurer Jane-Ann Joseph, directors and newly pinned members.
Shanna Blanc is the director of Professional Service, Curvin Joseph is the Director of International Service, Ishmael Joseph is the director of Finance and Jennae Nelson, the director of Club Service. Among those pinned were Lesley-Ann Waldron, Jovanna Thomas, Lisa Latouche and Rodman Lewis and Brenton Henry as director of Community Service
Special awards of appreciation were given to a representative of the Fort Young Hotel for their generous contribution to the club during its district conference held last month and Mr. Norris Prevost for the club’s use of the Prevost Cinemall for its weekly meetings.
In addition, awards were given to the Best Committee of the year and the Rotaractor of the year award to Miss Zilma Charles, an environmental health officer. Other awards were given to members of the club and the mothers of Rotaractors for their invaluable help and support throughout the year.
