Royal Caribbean, has announced that one of its ships, Vision of the Seas, will make Dominica part of its itinerary for the 2012-13 Caribbean season.
The itinerary was chosen by Royal Caribbean to visit smaller Caribbean islands less frequented by the cruise line’s larger ships.
Guests can choose from 19 Caribbean and Panama Canal cruises, ranging in duration from ten to 15 nights, sailing from the seasonal homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The itineraries include variations of a ten-night Eastern Caribbean cruise itinerary which feature calls at Tortola, St. Maarten, Dominica, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Croix and Martinique.
Royal Caribbean said Vision of the Sea features two acres of glass walls, offering guests sweeping views of the Caribbean.
Last year concerns were raised in Dominican tourism circles when Royal Caribbean announced that it will be repositioning one of its ships, Serenade of the Seas, from the Caribbean to Europe in the summer of 2012.
Also last year Carnival Cruise Lines ended a 21-year-old relationship with Dominica citing high fuel costs. However one of company’s ships, Carnival Victory, paid a one-day visit to Dominica on December 20, 2011.
we need to get Roseau clean up and organised and fixed the roads that take the tourist to the tours
About time we get a “VISION”!
working with the cruise ship herd is slavery under a different guise. They want 110% and give nothing in return for your effort
Please embark upon a concerted effort to bring stay over visitors here. With proper air access we could fill beds.
@ Nudibranch
Cruise ships have excellent overnight pre-paid accommodation for their travelers.
