CBSS students give helping hand

On December 17, 2010 the students of Form 5-2 of the Castle Bruce Secondary School (CBSS), exhibited their value by making a donation of  toys to the Roving Caregivers Programme . The RCP is an organization responsible for the education and wholesome development of the youngest of our society.

Today these same students are making a contribution, this time, of grocery items to the House of Hope.  The House of Hope, an organization on the south-east of the island, was established in 2002 when the founders began with home visits. In 2005 they recognized the need for a home to house those in their care, and now all the residents are in a comfortable environment .

Again the students and teacher contributed financially toward the project. They also requested the assistance of supermarkets and some members of the community. It was the intention of the teacher from the beginning to get her students involved in positive activities throughout the [school] year, particularly in philanthropic undertakings. If one student would take up such a role in the future the exercises would have proven to be worth the while.

Mr. Heskeith Alexander expressed his gratitude for the gesture. He urged the students to  continue in this spirit and always keep in mind those who are underprivileged.

Special mention should be made of ISSA TRADING LTD., the Parliamentary Representative  for the Castle Bruce constituency, the Parliamentary Representative for Morne Jaune/ Riviere Cyrique, the students, and all others who assisted in the project.
