DBS/Ministry of Education Reading Competition update

reading competitionJovanni Peter of the St. John’s Primary School has outperformed competitors to grab 1st place in the second competition of round two of the DBS/Ministry of Education Reading Competition.

Second place went to Khalid Leblanc of the Penville Primary School, while Solika Dupigny captured third place.

The rest of the results are as follows:

4th Place – Nyrella St. Jean                Clifton Primary School
5th Place – Grace Vidal                     Coulibistrie Primary
6th Place – Anisha Austrie                  Temple SDA

    Temple SDA should have placed higher. I do not know what we have against Adventist schools but as an objective observer, I think something is wrong. I am happy though that the two boys did well. But we must stop letting our silly biases discourage our children.

    I listened to this competition closely out of Dominica with non-Dominicans and they too were surprised at the results. Lets see if we can do better as the competition progresses. As far as I am concerned fair is fair.
