Students of the Dominica’s premier tertiary institution now have an avenue to write and express their views, thanks to the long awaited Dominica State College (DSC) online newsletter, “The Insight”.
“Students I want you to write, express your views,” Director of Students Services Edgar Hunter said at the Official launch of the newsletter at the DSC’s Auditorium on Thursday. “We have been waiting on the newsletter for a long time and we are very happy that finally the project has come on stream.”
The magazine’s website is managed by the college’s journalism club and intended to be an avenue for writers and reporters at the College, according to the club’s President, Jelanie Letang.
“Such ventures undertaken by the club are in an effort to continue promoting positive atmospheres at the DSC,” she said.
Hunter stated that work has been completed on the rooms where the students will be working to produce the magazine.
“I just want them to know that the work has been done for the rooms … so they can do the work to ensure that we have one of the best newsletters in Dominica,” he said. “We want issues of entertainment, we want jokes, we want college news, and we want you to write about your courses, programs and other materials.”
He also urged students to support the college’s Masquerade Ball and the Political Forum which seek to enlighten them and the public on plans and proposals from both political parties.
“It’s not a political debate but it is an opportunity where every political side will come forward and present to you their plans and proposals for the development of Dominica,” Hunter stated. “And as a result, you and Dominicans will be more informed voters.”
Partners in the venture are DEPEX Colour Lab, Patty Shack, LIME and the National Youth Council of Dominica.

Fantastic job students. I expect great things from you in highlighting the ideas and insights of young Dominican intellectuals.
Great news
Congratulations, my friends. Be positive always. But, speak your mind. Let you website reflect what is going on at DSC and don’t compete with other online magazines. I’ll be the first to jump on anyone’s back if they try to misuse your website.
This is a great venture for the college and the students directly involved in it..Great job guys and keep up the great work!!. At least we still have some positive minds in our country.
