Dominica will once again benefit from the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Holiday Gift Project for the Caribbean’s underprivileged Children. Dominica has benefited from this program for over twenty years. The program is locally coordinated by the Discover Dominica Authority and the Ministry of Tourism and Urban Renewal.

The Holiday Gift Program was designed to reach out to FCCA‘s partners in the Caribbean, by providing holiday gifts to underprivileged children in foster homes, or institutions where holiday gifts would not ordinarily be possible.

Last year (2015) Over 30 destinations participated in the program, with over 7,000 children receiving holiday gifts. Reports from the FCCA confirm that over 40 destinations will benefit from this year’s program.

Gift Items will be brought in to Dominica by crew personnel aboard the MV Celebrity Summit, which is scheduled to berth at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth on December 7th 2016. To celebrate the event a ceremony will take place at the Public Service Union Building, at 10:00am on December 7, 2016. Two Hundred (200) children under the Dominica Children Federation will be recipients of this year’s gifts. .

Discover Dominica Authority and the Ministry of Tourism thank FCCA for their continued efforts in bringing holiday cheer to underprivileged children throughout the Caribbean, and pledge continued support to this program, and others in the future.
