Dominican head of the UWI Open Campus in Anguilla resigns

THE VALLEY, Anguilla, August 19 ——–Head of the UWI Open Campus on Montserrat, Gracelyn Cassell, will have general overight of the Open Campus here in Anguilla.

This follows the resignation of Dominica-born Carla Harris Pascal.  The Principal and staff of the UWI Open Campus have said their goodbyes to Harris-Pascal.

She served in the position for over two years.

Cassell will be spearheading specific projects including marketing various programmes such as the Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and the online programme leading to the Certificate in Tourism Hospitality Management in the Caribbean.

The Montserratian UWI official will be visiting Anguilla on a regular basis.

Cheryl Sloley, Regional Coordinator for the Eastern Caribbean and Barbados in the Office of the Director, Open Campus country sites will continue to work with the site staff while Cassell will ensure that the administrative operations including student matters function efficiently.

Sloley will also be paying regular visits to the site over the next academic year to support the staff.

Sharon Lake, senior Administrative Assistant will assume lead responsibility for the day to day functioning of the site.  She will be assisted by Arlene Brown-Richardson while Oronica Hughes will continue to provide student support during the evening hours.

The management of the UWI Anguilla Open Campus says during the period of vacancy of a resident head of site, the staff and the office of the Director will ensure that the services to students and the public are maintained at a high standard to sustain the continued growth of the site and the increased visibility of the UWI and the Open Campus in Anguilla.

    Well I will surely miss Mrs Pascal at the Anguilla campus however, good luck to you wherever you may go.
